We have been a customer of **********************'s since 2011. They recently had an upgrade to their system, but not all older panels rec'd the update. We were getting false alarms going off due to the upgrade we didn't get. They wanted to sell us a whole new system for $898.99. We declined & told them to cancel our serv. Got a number to call to cancel, while on the phone with *********************** we were told we can stay with them with a new unit for a total of ******. this consisted of a $750.00 credit. We said ok, & equip installed on the 20th of July. So we were good with this. Then on Monday (22nd) Vivint took $385.88 from our bk acct. We called ********************** as soon as we noticed this charge at 7:30am Monday. Can give us a credits but still higher than quoted $******. We told them to cancel the order & remove equip.. Tech came same day (22nd) **** showed him the email with the quote of $****** & couldn't believe we got a $750.00 credit. He called his office & said that he is actually looking at the price for new equipment. We spent over an hour on the call, & wanted to give us credits for this & that, but still higher than $******. So we said we want to cancel, & remove equipment. We were then told that because of new contract, we would still be charge a monthly fee for the next 24 months.(We cancelled on third day of contract even tho equip wasn't installed until the 20th of July Well this did not sit well with us. Ask to speak to her ***** **** got another person, who again offered credits, not worth anything. Outcome said we no longer can trust *********************** **** are done with them. Remove equip. & cancel order, also to cancel the 24 months for service fee, & do not charge us for the Tech coming out today to remove equip. due to your error She said she would charge us $99.00 for serv. and then credit the $99., will cancel contract completely back to old contract then we would not be charged the next 24 months. Email on 7/24 says unable to refund us. Still Unsolved.

Vivints customer service is horrible. Every customer representative you speak with have a speech barrier where the consumer does not understand them and vice versa. I have an issue with this company with charging me twice in one month for services. I usually dont enrolled in auto pay but I did to avoid their so called $1 paper invoice fee. Well, I assumed I was paying my bill for the months so called billing cycle when I made a payment on July 3rd because initially my bill was due on the 6th of each month for this particular billing cycle June 21 to July 20. Well, I got charged on July 21st which came out of my account on July 22nd. I saw the online bill and it was generated on the 21st of July and the payment was taking out for the so called next billing cycle that started July 21 to August 20. Again, thats two payments in one month and they put my banking account in the red. I called customer service to have the charges reversed but she didnt understand me. I was furious and just told her to unenrolled me from auto pay. I have never been late on payments. I was checking my Vivint account every other day to ensure there wasnt a balance. When I checked it was always $0.00. So, I emailed their so called customer support email on Monday, July 22 but no response. This company has horrible customer service. They need to do better.

Is zero stars an option? This is the most predatory company Ive ever interacted with. The sales rep was a young man about 19 years old from another state. He was training an older sales rep, he said. They asked me about security systems and I had been thinking about getting a doorbell camera. Long story short, the guy talks me into the whole deal telling me your monthly would be this but if you do it today. Blah blah. Ill give you a 14 day trial. He ends up slapping on the dumb panel which is a very basic tablet system, door sensors, two cameras, smoke alarm and glass break detectors. I felt like I was already too deep in when he started using the term line of credit. He dispatched another to come install all this c*** immediately. The guy gave me his cell and was very responsive when it came to getting everything set up, even checked in the next day. The technology is cheap c*** youd get just as good of service from a ring doorbell you can stick on your door. He disconnected my original doorbell to route this one through it but I cant hear the new door bell at all unless Im in the front room. They installed everything in under an hour. When I was presented with the contracts the guy did not give me any time before yanking the iPad saying oh you didnt sign yet handing it back. Then away again to scroll FOR me. As soon as I texted saying I wanted to cancel the guy vanished. **************** was an absolute night mare on the phone. The equipment is essentially useless without their monthly service so you're basically stuck until you pay off this inflated loan for low grade tech. This was a year ago. A couple months ago I get a call to ask how I was doing with the system. The utter nerve. After all that, I let the guy know that I was extremely upset that I am paying for equipment I was conned into signing my life away for. I wish I had a ***** credit card instead. Also, shame on citizens bank for participating in this scam.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! The equipment is overpriced and you CANNOT cancel your acount no matter what you do. I have been trying since May 2024 and it is now 7/23/24 and they continue to take money out of my account and I have spent hours on the phone, email, etc and still am not able to get this cancelled. Worst company I have ever worked with!!

Vivint is very unethical. Specified that I had been qualified to receive services and equipment and scheduled an install. When the installer gets her (from almost 3 hours away) he specifies that he as to pre-qualify me AFTER I had already been approved which is why he was here to install in the first place. I was told by a rep that that the day of installing I would pay the remainder of my balance and all equipment would be installed but it was a different story. Not only did they say that they would need to pre-qualify me again because it had expired. Why would my pre-qualify expire prior to the install?? Then they said they didn't not show my approval or pre-qualify and also stated that they would need to do a hard pull on my credit the same day that the installers was here. None of this was communicated prior to the install. Then they said that they entered my name wrong in the system which is why the pre-qualify wasn't showing and they had my name right all along as all of my email confirmations had my correct name then from their said that it was pre-screen not a pre-qualification. What is that? They soft pulled my credit so that sounds like a pre-qualification to me...just ABSOLUTE LIES!! If you just have to work with this company DONOT work with ****** and ************** They are absolute liars and misrepresent Vivint. I canceled and asked for my money back. Very unethical! No stars for this company...not one! I have recordings of my calls as proof that the approval was done and the rep stated that I had been approved. I plan to take further action.

Vivint installed a new system in my home about a month ago. The Vivint sales representative told my wife and I that Vivint would pay of my old security system and that we had 30 days to cancel. I contacted Vivint prior to the 30 day period but was told I could not cancel my contract and that the trial period was actually 5 days. I have spent the prior week speaking to Vivint representatives trying to resolve the cancellation time discrepancy on several occasions where the phone representative placed me on hold to call the sales representative who had sold me my Vivint security system but he would not answer. I am adding this review with the BBB in hopes of resolving this issue in lieu of legal auction. The sales representative is obviously dodging any contact being that he lied about the 30 day trial/termination period.

Called today to cancel service. I asked the person several times to cancel. I was given the runaround and spent 15 minutes requesting VIVINT to cancel my service. He called Citizens Pay to verify I owed nothing for the equipment. After he told me it was paid in full. After the shenanigans, I was then told I had to submit my request in writing. It was a bit of a nightmare dealing with VIVINT Smart Home. I Dont recommend them to anyone.

I try to cancel with the sales person who sold me the equipment. He kept on saying you have a month. No charge to you and within a week I wanted to cancel. And they won't get back to me when I call.
