Their sales tactics are too aggressive, my wife and I both told the vivint sales person no numerous times even telling him we had to go due to our dinner order being ready and he would not leave. Each time suggesting five more min. We still kept telling him no we could not afford the subscription. He wouldn't take no for an answer. Finally an hour after our food order was ready we finally agreed to try Vivint after he assured us we could cancel any time that there was no contract. We were just so frustrated and exhausted from him that we gave in. We signed up with the full intent on cancelling the service before they even showed up to install. To our surprise they were there to install within 10 min of him leaving our house. We didn't even have time to eat our food before they showed up. We ate our cold dinner while they installed the system. Well forward a month bc we decided to try the system since they drilled holes all over our home during the install, I called to cancel the service only to find out it's a 60 month contract and I have to pay half just to cancel! That's not even for the equipment that's a whole separate finance company! I feel scammed and bullied into getting a system I didn't even want in the first place. This company is not friendly at all. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Now our credit is going to be ruined since I'm not paying these crooks a dime.Review fromRose H

System equipment does not work and now they want to charge $1,000 for early cancellation. I am reporting Vivint to the Aiken Better Business Bureau and turn the problem over to my attorney. This should be a class action case.Review fromMark W

Vivint does bad business. Recently, I had a Vivint smart security system installed. The sales person informed me of the 30 day trial, which is the only reason for the getting the home security system with Vivint The trial period ended Aug 4, 2024 (Sunday). Their customer service center is closed on a Sunday. I called to cancel August 5, 2024. The customer service representative informed me that I could not cancel my service, unless I paid for the equipment in full. This is one day from end of trial period, and the organization is closed on a Sunday. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and got put on hold numerous times to not ever speak with a supervisor. The Vivint customer service representatives would not ***** my request due to being out of trial period after one day (Vivint customer care not open on Sundays). Absolutely, horrible business practice, and service.Review fromDarrel S

I contracted with Vivint to change my security service from Brinks Home, after extreme pressure from the Vivint salesman. I was promised that all sensors and devices that were presently active on my system would be operative on my new system. My chief need was for a security camera and a new video doorbell. These were installed. I was also promised an added water leak sensor. However, since, against my wishes, the installer came late in the evening and I am 80 years old, I didn't evaluate what was done until the following morning. It turned out in addition to these cameras I was charged for a new smoke detector, which I already had a new door lock, and a water sensor. What was not included in the new system were 3 glass break sensors, 3 window sensors, my existing smoke detector, a carbon dioxide detector, a furnace thermostat, a door sensor. I did not receive the water sensor. Instead the tech installed a second door sensor on the door that already had one on it, which he failed to include. In addition he installed a new door lock and told me my old one didn't work, even though it worked fine for me. When I discovered all this I immediately exercised my rite of recision on the contract. It has been almost a week, and I have heard nothing from the company about canceling the contract and uninstalling and picking up the equipment. I did call to inquier about this but the individual I talked to could not help. He promised someone would call the next day. That of course didn't occur.Review fromSue W

Vivint is a deceptive business that protects themselves only. I had no idea of their lengthy contract, which is for 4-5 years. If you secured a loan with them but, don't use it, you are still responsible for paying a monthly fee. This is pure greed. They want you to keep paying them, even if you no longer want their services. They make it extremely difficult to get from out of their notorious contract. Also, their monthly fee increases 3-4 times a year, while you don't receive any additional service.Review fromCarol F

This company is not trust worthy. The salesman lied about the contract, and they will pull a hard credit report. I canceled within 3 days of the contract but its been a month and I still have my equipment. They have rescheduled several times to get their equipment. **************** rep told me my account was closed which is what I used to dispute on my credit. I have a feeling the delay for picking up the equipment may lead to a bill. Do not get this system it is not worth the headache they are far worst than any other company and dont trust anyone on hoverboards and an orange shirt. Lies out of their mouth!!Review fromAngela E

I do not recommend this company to anyone. The company is deceiving. everytime I call I get different excuses.I got started with vivnt 1/28/23. I work different hours and I noticed I wasn't getting any notifications. I changed my setting like I was told, still nothing changed. So then I asked if I could cancel. I was told it was past the timeline of when I could cancel. I am annoyed, and frustrated that I'm stuck paying for service and equipment that isn't doing the job. I called back in March because one of the window sensors going off. Again, I'm still not satisfied, with the system, they trouble shoot again and have me change my detection and sensibility. Still the doorbell does not pick up any movement in front of my yard. I will pick up the mailman standing directly in front of the camera. I have been in the house and daughter walk in and will not notify me. In fact more than I care to count, and no detection My vehicle is parked in my yard, I have had my gas stolen out my car and it not be detected. The camera in the back i have it facing my garage apt door and it does not detect unless you are directly in front of it. I have had a person hiding in my back yard, no detection. That cameras setting was checked. Of course nothing has changed. I asked how could I please get out of this. It's not right that people tell you lies to get a sale and you locked in and they won't let you out of a deceitful contract. I called in 10/26/23 for continued issues and again on 11/7/23. Except this time i was told now i have a bad wire and that i need to call an electrician and change it, then they can trouble shoot again. I called today because I want to speak with someone higher up. I had a very bad language barrier, she tried to trouble shoot my setting again like the other times, with no changes. This company is awful and I regret it. They really shouldn't do this to people want out of the contract.Review fromEva F

I purchased the system expecting that I would feel a modicum of security - to video people coming to the house - when I am not home for long periods of time. I've had the system for almost a month. Several times in that short period of time, the doorbell camera and the camera in the back of the house, have stopped working. Those previous times, I've been able to reset them from my current location (away from the home where the system is located). Now, the doorbell camera is "off-line" and I've been told by two Vivint employees that they cannot fix it remotely and that either I must be at that home or I must have someone from the area go there, to fix the issue. I asked them to send a tech. I was told that I (or someone else) would have to be there. I am brand new to the area and do not know anyone in that town. In addition, it seems to me that if I had someone go to the house to fix the issue, they would need a key to get in, and also need the password or code (maybe?). I will not be returning to the property for several months. So, it's becoming apparent that Vivint is NOT working out to be the best option for home security. Buyer beware! PS I was burned using Vivint for solar a number of years ago. I should have learned my ******* but stupidly gave the company another chance. Never again.Review fromBrooklynne R

I absolutely can not stand this company. It worked well for the first year. After that the systems kept failing. We have the protection plan that covers a technician fee, however, you cannot get them to send them to your house. Any time theres a problem you have to talk to online support for an hour and go through so many trouble shoots. If that doesnt work, they tell you to call a phone number and you go through the exact same trouble shoots. If that doesnt work, you talking to one more person and do the same thing before they will send you a new one and refuse to send a technician. We have had two get two new front door locks in one month due to faulty equipment. Its not worth trying to explain the nightmare of trying to cancel. They refuse to talk to you about cancellation and try to get you to sign a new contract for lower. You will be in this cycle for ours. Trying to get a new device and technician took 3 hours, I was so over it by the end I then tried to cancel. That took me another hour before they finally told me they cannot do it over the phone.Review fromWayne A

I had Vivint alarm system They charged me for equipment and then they charged me for monitoring. Also it's separate charge. I started off with the a $49 bill and with the equipment charge it end up being $84. The salesman deceived me on how the process worked. Now that I have the system I'm under contract so I have to pay to get out of the contract. I'm very disappointed in the way that I was deceived on the contract. Stay clear of Vivint. There's a lot better systems out that charge you a lot less money.
