Be careful when taking out the security system. The sales person will not give you all the information. Make sure you read the agreement fully and I mean fully. I have had nothing but issues with my system from day one and have had multiple people come out to fix it and I have made multiple phone calls. The app continues to malfunction as well as different issues with the security system. I do not want to be monitored anymore, but I dont have a choice unless I want to buy out for $1000. Apparently its a 57 month contract and I have no choice but to continue to be monitored with equipment that does not work. So, Im unable to cancel my monitoring services, Ive been scammed and taken advantage of and I am certainly not happy about this. Make sure you do all your homework before you sign up with this company and get this equipment. Its not what it seems. I was forced to leave a rating, which I gave it. One star because I was forced to choose something. But the rating is actually zero.Review fromMary B

Just wondering how Vivint educates or trains their salespeople. Recently, I had a very bad encounter with one of their "sales representatives". I spoke with a salesman for the first time on August 10. I informed him I wasn't interested in their product after listening to him. I assumed that he would have honored my decision to decline and not returned to my house to try to sell me the same item after this. And sure enough, for the next two days, I receive further visits from this same "gentleman". I was plainly annoyed when he showed up to my house trying to sell the same goods for the third day in a row. However, I continued to converse with him in a polite manner. He claimed that since so many of my neighbors had actually bought his stuff, it was apparently his team's last day in town, and he supposedly didn't want to leave me out. He became really impolite and patronizing when I again expressed my disinterest in his product. The salesperson you had was very pushy, overbearing and would not accept no for an answer. He even went so far as to call me a drug user because, when I opened my own door at my home after he had stopped my workout, I was drenched in perspiration. Perhaps this is the way Vivint really trains their sales people to be. I don't appreciate being harassed and disrespected, especially in my own house, to put it mildly.Review fromSarah P

horrible experience thus far, horrible and virtually useless customer service. I had signed a contract for monthly financing and, in violation of that contract, they charged me the entire $5300+ installation fee up front, without any notificatio. I have spent hours over the last two weeks trying to get this rectified with absolutely no resolution. Appa they terminated their contract with ************* who provided the financing and, rather than notify customers of this change, decided to s**** their customers instead. ********. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY SECURITY OR ALARM COMPANY. STAY AWAY FROM VIVINT AND FIND ANOTHER OPTION.As an update, after dealing with numerous phone calls with Vivint for two weeks, still with no resolution and changing excuses for why there hasnt been any resolution, my customer service experience tonight was truly horrible with them. After spending two hours on the phone with a representative named Georgia (badge ******), I overheard her shout, Shes f****** psychotic! I dont work 40 hrs/week about me, thinking, mistakenly, that she had put me on hold. Mind you, the 30+ hours Ive spent calling Vivint, on top of a full time job and a move, hasnt been enjoyable or a walk in the park for meonly difference is, I remained professional and cordial, unlike *******, who was actually getting paid for professionalism.Review fromLee B

My review is negative. I do not recommend this business. Our experience with Vivint the last few years has been this:1. If you need service or a tech visit because equipment isn't working, they will not provide a technician unless you agree to upgrade or purchase addtl devices that you do not need (such a a new panel, new doorbell camera etc...). 2. The monthly fee increases constantly and it's high. 2. I ordered several pieces of new equipment after a house remodel. They pulled the money our of my bank checking account the same day I placed the order, but they never shipped the equipment. I did not receive a refund of the money they took our of my bank account. I had to call them to tell them to refund the money. Instead of a refund, they posted a "credit" to my Vivint account, not a refund of the money they took out of my bank account. I had to call them back and pressure them to refund the cash that they took out of my checking account. This is just a small sampling of my interaction with them. Currently, several of the devices don't work or are giving error messages on the panel, several say "low battery" even after we replaced the batteries, the mobile app hasn't worked for the garage overhead door for almost a year, and the door lock panel locks and unlocks by itself like a ghost lock, and on and on... however they never miss taking the monthly service fee out of the bank account, that still works just fine. Shopping now and hoping to find a replacement system soon.Review fromCody R

This is the first company I have ever written a review about if that tells you anything about how they are. I was very happy with them at the house I was renting, so when I bought my own home, I wanted Vivint in my new house as well. The technician that was supposed to do the installation kept coming at times outside of the open window. Instead of calling me since I wasn't there waiting for him, he left a note saying he had been there. I finally gave up on him and tried to get them to cancel my account. The customer service rep said they needed my cancelation in writing. I wrote an email saying everything that had happened, their response was for me to call customer service. Finally, I just got my bank to cut their access to my checking account. Last month, I found out they sent my account to a shady collection agency in *****, that also averages a 1-star review. I had my account way longer than necessary to pay off the equipment, and I lost money because I had to keep paying for the service I couldn't use while all of this was going on. Somehow in their eyes I still owe them money.Review fromKathleen T

Vivant who sells security systems is horrible!! Do not, I repeat do not do business with this company! They treat their customers like dirt, and they railroad senior citizens to death! My neighbor had opened up an account with them and decided quickly that their system wasn't what she wanted at all had my husband unistall the equipment and she then tried to cancel the account they drug her out just long enough to get her in a position where she is now owing them a cancelation fee on top of another month's service after 3 phone calls and 3 emails in over a months time of her trying to cancel it. They are just wrong!Review fromJennifer G

Vivint is the Biggest scam ever! Make it hard to cancel monitoring service! Want to make you continue paying till THEY APPROVE YOUR CANCELLATION! They dont service the equipment until youve serviced it yourself and fail. Then they will schedule you a tech in 3 weeks to a month. Then you have no security that they charge you for. Run from this Vivint Security Absolutely the worst company!Review fromSean E

Vivint does not have the customer in mind. I canceled my service a few years ago, removed the equipment, and moved to a new home. I was getting charged monthly for the rental fee for the equipment from Citizens. This made sense since there was a balance when I canceled, so I didn't think anything of it. However, I called Citizens to see how much was left and they said I have been at a zero balance for a while and must be Vivint charges. I called Vivint and they told me they never canceled my account, just "removed my equipment." So they have been charging me this whole time. They claim that they need a special email stating certain information so they can officially cancel my account. I don't care what their policy is, when I called 2 years ago, no one said or sent me anything stating I needed to send them the required information. They should have canceled the account at that very moment. I don't trust them, nor should you.Review fromMichael G

We have had the worst customer service experience we have ever had trying to work with Vivint. We were in need of a new home security system and met with a door to door rep in the hopes of getting a new system with Vivint for around the same price we currently paid with ADT. After meeting we walked away feeling great. Our bill was going to be about the same as it had been, we had 30 days to try out the new system and make sure we liked it, and Vivint was going to take care of all the cancellation process for ADT to make it seamless. None of that ended up being true. The sales rep lied to us about the pricing, the time we had to cancel, and the process to cancel ADT. This was only the beginning of the dissapointment as well. Once our account became active on the app (A few hours after signing up) I reviewed the pricing and noticed that the price was not what I had agreed on with the sales rep, this was of course frustrating and we wanted to cancel immediately. The only saving ***** was that we had a friend who posted on ******** that weekend that they worked for Vivint and could help get friends and family discounts. We decided to call on Monday (we signed up on a Saturday) to talk with customer care to just switch our account to the friends and family discount and we would save money and be done with it. After talking to the customer care rep they advised us not to cancel our account and that they would get it worked out to switch us to the friends and family. Long story short it has now been two months, nobody has ever called us back. We have called countless times trying to get help and we are now being told we are out of the cancellation period and we also can't get the friends and family discount. Terrible business practice and they have very bad internal customer care processes. We want to be done but it looks like it will take legal action on our end to get this resolved now...
