Im extremely disappointed with Vivints service, which has been a nightmare. Despite having a contract until 2026, Vivint has consistently failed to provide the functioning security system I was promised. My cameras and other equipment have been essentially useless for the past six months. I contacted support multiple times, endured numerous visits from their technicians, and even had equipment replaced, but nothing has resolved the issues. When I tried to escalate to higher-level support and management, my calls were disconnected repeatedly, with no effort to address my concerns. Its appalling to see a company with such a lack of accountability and care for its customers. In my experience, ********************** takes your money but fails to deliver the basic service they guarantee. I would caution anyone considering their services to save yourself the frustration and choose a company that values integrity and customer satisfaction. ********************** has been a massive disappointment and feels like a scam that keeps you locked in a useless contract.Review fromCynthia K

1st mistake was allowing the salesperson inside my home, because he was in my neighborhood. They tell you this, but wants to run a light credit inquiry. It's seems to see how much of a line of credit they can charge you. The Vivint employees keeps giving me the run around. I've sent a letter about why I'm exactly being charged over $3500 for equipment. No respond so I called & the ***resentative transferred me over to the company that opened up the line of credit. Found out that the Vivint *** lied by telling them I need to know my balance?!? This company sent me an email promised to credit my monitoring in August 2024, and I've called 3 times about this. They were in a lawsuit, just search the internet, but they seem to find other ways to get your signature on the dotted line to open and over price line of credit that they know exactly all it includes. The only good thing they have different than other security companies is a live person calls through your hub control panel. I am not happy with Vivint and may have to look into what they are hiding after getting $324 credit for 4 sensors and 1 motion sensor.Review fromJurgita C

Most horrible security company ever. Have been a client for 10+ years now and their ***resentatives are not honest people. On February of this year I renewed my contract and no one came to install the system. I called 3 times and finally in May ran in to someone walking in town and had their *** install it. My price of course was different on the new contract that I signed, but she assured us that she has it work out with back office and we our leader monthly monitoring price of ***** per month will be honored since we have been clients for so long. So here comes new billing in June and now it's 81 dollars for monthly service charge. And after 2 more phone calls nothing is still corrected. I will be contacting our city to stop giving Vivint permit for new installations as they are not an honest company.Review fromGeorgiana H

*This review depicts what happened; the legal components are excluded. * Vivint home security Technician **** ******* (Badge ID#: ******* arrived at my home to install my Vivint home security system. I did not track Erics every move, and he was not within my sight at all times.**** spent 4.5 hours at my home installing the two outside cameras and doorbell and 30 minutes installing the motion, door and window sensors, totaling 5 hours. He told me that if I had any issues with my system to call him and he would fix it for free.2 days later, I went into bedroom #1 and quickly felt overwhelmed with panic because my entire room smelled like urine. I struggled to believe what I was witnessing, and I called Vivint immediately! Bedroom#1 contained all my childhood toys, dolls, coloring books, games and cookbooks. Bedroom#1 looked like a kids room! Vivint technician **** ******* urinated in the corner and on the floor of my bedroom#1. I alerted my leasing office, and they sent maintenance men to my home to inspect what I found, and they confirmed that **** had urinated in the corner and on the carpet in my bedroom#1.Alongside the carpet and in the corner of Bedroom#1, **** had also urinated into the floor vent connected to my central heating and cooling unit. After further inspection, I confirmed that **** urinated and smeared his urine/bodily fluids on/in areas throughout my entire home from my walls, door cracks, 5 of my floor hvac vents, on my furnace, ceiling fan, in my kitchen, eating utensils, etc. I purchased a blacklight and glasses to help me avoid touching any of his urine and bodily fluids. I saw that **** urinated and left bodily in my laundry area where I watched him place adhesive door monitors, with his back facing me. At the time, I was unaware that I was watching him urinate in front of me.Review fromMegan A

We purchased our house in August 2021. 2 weeks after moving into our house, Hurricane *** hit *****, ********* and our house had $80,000 in damages. We had to rip out and tear down walls and the Vivint alarm system that was in the house was removed at this time. We have been trying to cancel since, but can't ever seem to get someone on the phone that will do it. I get rerouted continuously when speaking to someone. We are billed monthly for services we DO NOT HAVE in our house. We do not have any of the equipment, and we clearly don't have any of the monitoring services without the equipment. The fact that they are billing us for services that we are not receiving is theft! And all we want to do is cancel the service. This has been going on for 3 whole years! We've paid so much money to vivint without even having any alarm system in the house. We just want to cancel and stop having to PAY! They make it almost impossible to do so. I do not recommend and will not ever recommend this company to anyone. I'm almost to the point of getting a lawyer involved.Review fromSharon A

Vivint Alarm System Review 10/25/2024 I have been with Vivint Systems for over 15 years; I could not wait to be free of them soon enough. Well, the day came when my contract term ended. Vivint tempted me to renew my contract by lowering my monthly payments, but Vivint was unwilling to abide by my decision not to renew my contract. Again, Vivint tried to lower my payments by $10.00 and then by $20.00. I said NO MORE! Here are some of my complaints: Vivint company is not local and will NOT send anyone else out to fix a problem; instead, Vivint will use your phone for hours to troubleshoot. If you call, you will rarely get an American, most likely someone from ***** or **** with an accent that is difficult to understand. I had one at home answering calls with kids screaming in the background, and I was trying to understand her. I had to hang up and call back the next day. I have spent hours on the phone with them. I dont know about you, but my time is valuable. I now have another local company with no contracts that will come out to service me at my request and provide up-to-date equipment, and I could not be happier. Incidentally, Vivint had the nerve to bill me one more month after my contract ended, which I paid. My present alarm company said Vivint equipment is so outdated that they could not use any of it. Vivint said they did not want their equipment back either. Buyer BEWARE!SAReview fromJessica S

Vivent security has a huge transparency in their billing practices. Moreover, the focus on upselling home and phone insurance, rather than resolving billing issues, suggests a prioritization of profit over customer satisfaction. ****** before signing the contract. Great system, but way overpriced and not told the truth. I was also charged for products I did not purchase. Really wished I read these reviewsReview fromDaniel P

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. This company stole over $1000 dollars over *********************************************************************************************** good faith when another tenant occupied the premises and open their own account. Then turned around on me saying that it was my fault for not requesting additional information on cancelling citing No phone calls or emails were logged. 18 months of inactivity and no re-opened accounts on a different property, but continued to bill. Then turned around on me citing a contractual technicality. This is downright criminal and shady at best that they reserve the right to pseudo-cancel so they can sign a new client while extracting money from the previous.Review fromEvette M

(short story version) Last week, Thursday 10/17/2024 morning my neighbor came knocking on my window/door (Vivint installation/doorbell disconnected) in the backyard because one of the cats was dead and decapitated beside the steps of the back patio. I went to the alarm system panel to see who or what could have killed the cat and there was no recording. Wednesday date and all was wiped out! The last time that the camera recorded anything from the backyard was on Monday 10/14/24. Tuesday 10/15/24 had no recordings and Thursday after 10 a.m. it just showed when my neighbor went up close to see the animal and him coming to knock etc. I called Vivint to find out why did it not record and the person responded "maybe your Wi-Fi wasn't connected." I told him that it was untrue because I have recordings each day from the front camera and I also used my tablet, which is controlled by Wi-Fi, Wednesday night for my meeting. I told him that I'm paying for nothing, I feel unsafe and for years I've been complaining about the same thing, the camera(s) (skipped details) Saturday night I viewed the backdoor camera footage and noticed that on Friday 10/18/24 it barely recorded in the back of the house.(a few videos) In my frustrations i took a hammer and mashed the panel and hit the camera off of the back of the house. Monday 10/21/24 I called Vivint to have the service shut off and to have a technician come out to reinstall the door bell and to get them working like they were before getting the Vivint alarm system installed. I really regret Installing Vivint because they messed up the wiring system within this apartment and they keep trying to blame me for their mistakes! All I wanted them to do is restore the door bells and they didn't!!! The back patio light isn't working, there's no doorbell in the front of the house just a hole with wires hanging out. Regret, I have lots of it. The Vivint person on the phone is blaming me for their wiring mistakes. Awful, awful, awfulReview fromDennis H

I was amazed how my experience has been consistent with others giving Vivint one star. I purchased a system in Oct 2023 and paid a monitoring fee on a month to month basis. I was pleased with the equipment and installation and recommended Vivint my neighbors who were unhappy with their system. I did not use a referral code because I didn't want my neighbors to feel I recommended Vivint to get a finders fee. They signed up and their installer asked how they chose Vivint; when they said I referred them he said that we both should get a discount and I that I should contact the company. I did and they said without my giving my neighbors a referral code we could not get a discount. After several back and forth discussions they agreed to give us both a $10/mo discount on our monitoring for 24 months. Turns out that meant my month to month was now a lock in for 24 months. Soon afterwards, we sold our property and wanted to leave the system as part of the sale. When I called to give notice that we were vacating in a couple of months and to cancel they said I am under contract and would not cancel. I offered to pay the $10/mo back for the 4 months I got the benefit to get me back to the month to month, they would not do that. When I asked to have my offer elevated the "customer care" *** said he is meeting with his supervisor later that day and would bring it up. He subsequently ***orted back that the request was denied. Although I did not want to get the buyers involved in my issue, I did contact them to say that if they decided to use Vivint for their monitoring to let me know as it would help me with an issue I had. They said that they signed up with Vivint right away. When I called the customer care *** to tell him, he said because I didn't facilitate the transfer they would not do anything. So they are getting a monthly fee from the buyers and from me for the same property that I no longer live in and they have the neighbor that I brought to them.
