I've been paying into this company for 3 years and when I needed to get my car repaired, I thought I only had to pay the deductible but I ended up paying over $500.00 out of pocket for a covered repair. This company is a rip off.Review fromPhyllis C

CarsSheild is a waste of money! I contracted them for car protection and paid for 2 and a half years before I needed to use it. I contacted them for a repair, started the process. Which was beyond confusing. Unfortunately, due to parts availability, had to wait a considerably long time. Nearly six months later when my parts finally arrived, I scheduled the repair with my chosen mechanic. In the meantime, ********* had cancelled my request without informing me. So, as a result my very expensive repair was considered unauthorized. Both my mechanic and I called multiple times, spoke with several very rude and condescending people who totally refused to assist. Apparently, once a ticket is opened, you have to continue to work with the same rep you started with. The representative I had originally been dealing with would not return any of my calls. Dispite the fact I had the claim number, the name of the rep and his extension. They just kept insisting my repair was unauthorized. So as a result I wasted 3 years worth payments for this so called protection and ended up paying over $8000 out of pocket for a major repair that should have been covered. I'd prefer to give no stars, on a scale of ****, I'd rate carsheild with a negative 99.CarShield

The results of this investigation indicate that you initiated a claim and were advised of the contractual claims process. This process was not followed, therefore the claim was not approved or authorized. Definitely buyers remorse,Oh I bought my CarShield plan in February2022, in August my engine locked up on me so I started the claim process first Car shield wanted my maintenance history, I gave it to them, no problem, The next they told my mechanic to break down the engine, take a picture, and send it to car shield so they can see what happened to the engine, a $4000 labor fee that car shield do not cover, myself and my mechanic we both asked how can you look at a picture and determine what happened, right away felt like this is car shield way of not repairing my car with without them saying no, here is September and my car is still no fixed, but they call like clock work for that monthly payment.CarShield

Took my car in for service at Ford dealership. Vehicle is equipped with electric power steering which needed to be replaced. My $100 deductible became $400 and my seven day rental I was told I would only be paid for two days, then they said one day. Still haven’t received it and they say it’s because of the receipt.I talked to Manny service reps most of them were OK so we were very rude. They refused to pay for the programming of the steering rack even though the new rack would not operate without being programmed after talking to several reps they found that if the dealer told them the rack does not operate they would pay for the programming even after that it took several more calls to get them to pay for it and then they only paid a third of what it cost. Again the alignment is necessary when you remove the steering rack but they consider in maintenance and refused to pay for it. I agree alignment is maintenance but not when in conjunction with the removal of the steering rack. I manage service centers for 35 years and it’s the first time I have to have my car serviced somewhere and it’s been a nightmare. I’ve dealt with warranty companies like this but I didn’t expect it from Carshield. Obviously I canceled my policy and going to find another company

I paid my account faithfully with CarShield. I filed a claim in April of this year. It has taken them until now to tell me that my claim was rejected. I called, called called them almost every day and they kept give me all kinds of excuses. Now I’m out of a car for 5 months. They tell the shop to tear the motor down now that’s $1500. That I’m left to pay plus getting car fixed. The adjuster said that I put water in the motor. Me, being a woman have never put anything in my car. I had regular oil changes and tune ups. I am so frustrated and disgusted with this company that I could scream. I don’t know what I’m gonna do other than pray for a miracle

I feel car shield is not fulfilling its part of the contract which was purchased through them. on Saturday 8/ 27/2022 at 10am I took my vehicle for service at ********* in ******* ** for an oil change and have them look over the vehicle to recommend any repairs or services needed and found the following (see attachments) ********* contacted car shield for approval for repairs to be made. later I was contacted by ********* and advised car shield was requesting photos and video of the parts that needed to be replaced and the condition they were in. ********* submitted the info. ********* then informed me that car shield was requesting documentation for the last 12 months of vehicle maintenance no where in the contract does it state the need to supply the past 12 months of service records only states may ask for copies of service records ....these repairs have nothing to do with regular servicing of the vehicle . ********* asked me if I wanted to leave the vehicle or pick it up since they were still waiting on approval and car shield was closed after3pm which I did pick up since I needed to get to work. on 8/30/2022 I contacted car shield at about 2pm and they advised me the claim was inactive since the vehicle was not at the shop. The rep then advised me the claim adjustor needed 12 months of service records and when I purchased the vehicle and video of the wheel hub issue and would take 24hrs before a decision would be made if the claim would be approved or not .( I dont understand why car shield did not contact me ) she also advised the shop stated the car is not safe to drive with the repairs needed. I asked her if I could get the rental car that is part of the coverage, and she advised no only if your claim is approved would you get that depending on your coverage. I feel car shield misrepresents how easy the process is to have the vehicle repaired and no where in contract does it state it will take 24hrs to be approvedReview fromMichel R

I put a policy on my 29 year old sons Ford F-150 his engine began making a ticking. His truck sat at the Ford dealer for over two months. Each time we called the dealer said car shield didn’t give them the okay to repair yet. After many calls and them ordering many expensive test to be done they gave the okay to repair and then refused to pay for all the test they ordered to be done to the engine. Although the repairs were covered under the plan. Do NOT get ripped off by this crooked company!!!!

I have been a customer for 22 months. I have tried to use CarShield 3 times, to only be disconnected and not called back when they knew I was stranded needing a tow, the second time, was stranded at home, but it was Friday night and Carshield was closed, now today, I have a claim to file and am told I can't when ******** on 8/23 at 12:00 told me I could. The print adds also state I can take my vehicle to any dealer or certified ASE mechanic of my choice. I took my vehicle to the dealer, they fixed it and now I'm told I can't file a claim. I tried to cancel and of course the customer ********************** operator wouldn't help me. I'm really mad that I'm out all this money for premiums not realizing what a scam this is. Yes, I have my contract number, yes I tried to file a claim online, only to get an error message "No URL found". This is on YOUR website. I want to file a claim and have my expenses covered as promised, or I want my premiums returned to me. $1869.78 for 22 months please.CarShield

Was denied coverage on my 2017 *********** due to mechanic putting wrong mileage on paperwork, My claim was denied, therefore I told the rep I want to cancel my policy. I was told to call back to cancel but however the rep insisted I keep the policy or transfer it another vehicle thats already fully covered, I called in on Monday 8/29/2022 and was told its too late to cancel and I will be charged and then I was offered a cheaper rate to stay in my contract. After being told I might as well keep the coverage, I placed another call back to carshield and spoke with a rep by the name of ******, I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told that she spoke with the supervisor and theres no refund or anything that they can or will do, I asked to speak with a supervisor numerous times and was spoken to in an unprofessional way, rushed off the phone and told that theres no need for her to connect me with a supervisor but however she have one contact me within 48 hrs. I normally dont leave negative reviews, but ****** nonchalant I dont care attitude was very unprofessional and definitely not someone I would want to represent me or my company, training your customer ********************** or certain individuals will improve business and maybe help with customer relationsCarShield
