      Horrible customer service. Overcharged well over $250+ if I were you I would cancel service and literally shred the papers by hand to save a bigger hassle. This company should dissolve.

      They issues an invoice for services that were never rendered. We asked them to issue a credit, so in turn they added it as another balance due on my account. All calls and emails to the agent listed on our invoices were ignored. I called multiple times over many months, each time I was assured that my complaint would be noted and passed to a different department. Each time, no one did a thing and I continued to receive threatening notices about lack of payment. Finally, 6 months after starting the effort to dispute, I spoke to a representative that actually did her job, looked at my account, noted that the error was on the company's end, and told me I would hear back within a week. Over a week later, I sit on hold waiting to hear why 1. No one responded to my initial attempts at correspondence 2. The first few operators I spoke to said they would note the dispute on my account and DID NOTHING 3. Why it is taking them so long to fix an error that they have already admitted was on their end. Perhaps Shred-It is used to dealing with people who don't know their consumer rights? I will be filing a complaint with BBB, the NYS Attorney General, and any other relevant authorities in NYS due to their deceptive billing practices, incompetent staff and general disregard for the laws of collections in NYS. And I agree with the other reviewers, we should be able to leave a 0 star review.

      I would give NOT STARTS, worst customer service ever! Called to get some documents shredded that were stored in a storage unit for an old business. That part was easy, talked to someone who explained they would send a contract and payment link, and once payment was made a local rep would schedule the time and day. They stated it would be in about 3 or 4 weeks. I stressed this was important because it's a storage unit and no one is actually there. I would need to know a time frame to meet them. He said not an issue, unfortunately, that was the last time I heard from them. They took the money and despite repeated calls and emails, no one was able to help me out. It wasn't until a week prior that I found out the date they were coming, but still no time. The call center told me again they would call me, but it would be that morning with a time. That again didn't happen. I tried to cancel and get my money back, but getting a hold of someone that could help is impossible. Stay far away if you are in MD. Staples would have been much easier and quicker.

      What an awful company . We used them for about 2 years and at a certain point we had no use for the service and we cancelled. The people said we could not cancel and if we did they would charge us a $ 350 cancelation fee. After we cancelled they continued to charge us and send their truck by . When we explained to the driver that we cancelled our service , they kept sending him by ( not stopping ) and since we operate a home office there was no other reason for them to be in our street. Then they sent us to a " collection agency " that we explained what had happened , and they kept calling us and telling us that now we owed them $ 1500 ( 5 years ) but they would be so generous to cancel that if we signed up for the service again . What a joke , what a nasty group of people. I recommend , buy yourself a shredder, and DO NO SIGN UP with this company.

      We have made attempts to reach out to Mr. Kops to address his issues however he only yelled and swore at our team member and hung up on us. We reached out via email and were told to never contact them. He would not allow us to assist in resolving his issue.

      Worst biohazard company out there. Repeatedly miss pickups. Inform them of business hours ,and they come on days we're not open ,so they can say we came by after repeatedly telling them days we;re not open. Oh okay we'll update that for you, and then come again on days not open. The driver blast rap music outside when they do come for pickups. If you can find any other company for your biohazaed waste ,I suggest you do. I think they have a monopoly in most areas ,might be an explanation for such poor service ,cause they know you have no other choice. Stay Away from Strericycle.

      Last spring, we noticed our Shred-it box was broken. I called to have them replace the console, and a few weeks later they informed me they showed up before business hours but were unable to get inside. After that, I repeatedly called to reschedule the replacement, each time speaking to customer service and scheduling a console replacement. Countless calls over almost a year and they never replaced our bin. They claimed they could not connect me with local dispatch for confidentiality reasons and would put me on hold to speak to the local branch. Whenever they did come for a scheduled pick up of our documents, the Shred-it employees told me they had no idea they were supposed to be replacing our broken box and did not have a replacement with them. They would tell me to call customer service to request a console replacement, which obviously Id been doing regularly. Shred-it has a serious issue communicating anything directly from the corporate customer service to the local branches.Finally, when I told them wed had enough and they were cancelling service, they connected me to a different department, and I spoke to a woman who claimed she could see no record of the numerous reference numbers Id accumulated. She told me someone would come out to collect their box. Shortly afterward, a Shred-it employee came to our site under the assumption we needed a regular pick up. I told him wed cancelled service and that he was supposed to be picking up their box, but he told me he did not have the ability to do so that day and instead emptied our nearly empty Shred-it box. I called to express my confusion and, finally, someone did come to collect their still broken box. They are now charging us over $200 for these last two "services." The actual customer service employees I spoke with are perfectly polite, but the company repeatedly proved entirely incapable of responding to their customer's needs. Do not use Shred-it.

      I would give them a 0 if I could.Previous customer, and randomly they dropped a bin off at our office. We DID not request this as we were using another company. We called to have them come pick it up, which they did, but they billed me for 1 month of service. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone and sent countless emails trying to get this resolved. Today I call and explain the situation (again) and the rep just keeps asking me if I want to make a payment over the phone. I tell him I think we have a communication problem because he is clearly not understanding why I am calling. He then hangs up on me. Terrible terrible company.

      We contracted with this service for JAN27,2023, only for them not show/ be contacted about reschedule! Contract say We are locked in for 60 days even when service was not provided on scheduled date? Bad ***************** not provided w/ local contact to resolve issue!!       I have called Shred It nine times and they still have not **************** to invoices. They also missed pickup at one of our locations twice now. No one ever calls back and when you call them you waste ***** minutes of your life speaking to someone that just makes promises that are never fulfilled. **************** is a sham, they used to be a great company but now I would never recommend them. They are not worth one star.

      Stericycle/Shred-It has to be one of the worst companies I've ever done business with. I needed a one-time pickup and was quoted $299. They showed up on a different day than I was told and while the driver was perfectly kind (no complaints with him) I was charged $400...twice! I've been trying to get a refund for the duplicate charge for almost a month. When I call the hold is obnoxiously long. At this time a good business would offer a full refund for the mistakes and time I've been dealing with the issue. Strongly advise people against using this company for shredding.
