      I would give a negative star to this company. They don't have any customer service. The number they provide does not get answered. They bill for invoices that have already been paid.I have been trying to cancel this service for over 6 months and nobody responds, finally through a chat we requested the cancellation and for their bins to be picked up. No response.Finally last month thy picked up the bins but they are still charging for the service we are not getting.This company has to be put out of business.

      Worst experience ever! I regret signing up with Shred-It in *******, **. Doesn't deserve ONE star! There's no local customer service, you call the phone# and you get random people overseas, barely speak English. No one ever follows **. *******************/Sr. ***** Executive signed ** me **, I asked if this is an annual agreement since I noticed that the renewal date was ****, and I didn't want to commit for 5 years. He responded: It's an annual agreement, so I signed the contract. I reached out later with questions, he never responded. Got the run around by some account reps, but no one got back to me. They billed $93 to drop off the console -never mentioned that before! None of these items were disclosed beforehand. The bin has a smaller cardboard liner inside, it gets full quickly. They charge $12 for additional box of paper. They also bill for fuel. I called, emailed many times wanting to talk to someone to see if I should get another bin, or a bigger one, or change the service from 4 to 2 weeks, no one ever got back to me. Finally I warned that if I didn't get someone to call me back to answer all my questions, I was going to cancel my account, SO I DID! Only then, ***********************/Retention ********************* Engagement - finally contacted me and responded to all my concerns in real time. They're quick to bill and remind you are past due, and if you say you want OUT...but before then, complete silence and disregard for a customer basic needs and concerns. They're threatening with legal action, and I say: Bring it on! I have loads of communication with proof of service and performance deficiencies. As I see it: They clearly breached this agreement. Steer clear from Shred-It/Stericylce Company!

      CAN I LEAVE 0 STARS??I have been calling this company about erroneous billing for our medical facility for over 2.5 years. Each time they indicate they have applied the credits to the account and that a supervisor will call me back. And then again the following month we get an overdue notice and no call back. I spent 2 hours on the phone with representative **** again today indicating that their systems had changed in 2021 and that my call reference numbers from 2020 were linked to calls in 2021-2 and that they had no records from prior to the systems change. IE- they do not know what credits we were due. THAT IS SO CONVENIENT!**** THEN PROMISED ME THAT A SUPERVISOR WOULD CALL ME TODAY- by the name of *****- TODAY BY EOB and NO CALL WAS RECEIVED AGAIN! We are cancelling our agreement and not paying the erroneous bill and filing a complaint with the state as well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE FRAUDULENT IN THEIR BILLING PRACTICES AND CLAIM TO NOT HAVE RECORDS OF THE PAYMENTS BUT SEEM TO HAVE NOT PROBLEM FINDING THEIR INVOICES.THERE ARE MULTIPLE OTHER DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION COMPANIES TO CHOOSE FROM. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE WITH THIS ONE!

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Clearly I should have read reviews before using this company. They over charged me $179 dollar which was in violation of the contract that I signed which is a legally binding document. I have spoken with several representatives when I got the double invoice and they assured me over and over I would not be charged the amount again. Next day I was charged the amount they swore I would not be charged. I have had to call back in 2 times now and still no resolve. I am 1 week out without my money refunded and they said it will be another 7+ days. There is a bindings contract, so this is extremely illegal to violate the terms of their OWN contracts.

      Horrible company! Been fighting for 5 weeks for $160 credit as they overcharged my AMEX. Still no refund and they charged my AMEX again for the original cost of over $950.00. Nobody helps. I have disputed the second set of charges with AMEX. I call daily and there is never a manager on duty to help. Would give zero stars if I could. I was leery when they wouldn't let me book unless a credit card was advised up front. There are many other shredding companies. Don't use this company. Watch I'll get the same canned response as all the others on here and hear nothing.

      I'd give Zero stars if i could. at one time, Shred-it provided good service. Now they do not. As another reviewer wrote, all the issues seem to stem from the local office, which customers cannot contact. Even the main customer service (800 number) has said the local office is not responsive. Our company has offices in MD and **. our ** office is also extremely displeased with their service. We have had scheduled pickups missed with no notice, showing up on days that we are not on schedule. Excuses ranged from "we had no equipment available to do a pickup", to "our software needs to be updated and you were not included on a route for pickup". I cant express how happy I am that in 7 days, i can submit our "official" cancellation notice. That's another thing; you cant cancel more than 30 days in advance of your contract expiring (or so I was told). Right now, our company has stacks and stacks of shredding because of missed pickups. Four days ago (Thursday) i called to complain yet again about a missed pickup. When asked if i wanted to reschedule a pickup, i said "NO, I'm going to have service done by someone else". Yesterday morning (Monday) i received a call from a driver asking if i wanted service that day. I am glad to be done with this company. Im in the ********* DMV area and have decided to be serviced by **************, they provide excellent service at a fraction of the cost. As for the "we will escalate this and return a call to you, im not holding my breath, as they rarely do!"

      I am only giving 1 star because zero stars is not an option. This is by far the worst customer service in my entire 30 years of doing business. I think only 2 people work at this company. I have been trying to close my account for over a month. I have countless phone calls / emails and I feel as though I am literally in the twilight zone. Stay away from this company.

      Terrible Terrible Terrible company! They were supposed to make an appointment to pick up shredding. They never did then showed up late one day unannounced. When I told them I was not prepared they left in a **** telling me I'd be charged. Literally 18 months later I am still trying to disconnect from them. NEVER USE THEM!

      Signed contract on 12/15 and said it would be 4 weeks. February an escalation ticket was put in because still no service. Re-scheduled on the website with no notice to us for a Sunday, when they were closed. March 28 and still no call, no show. Highly recommend finding a different solution if you actually need the work done.

      I am not trying to be too dramatic, but this is most likely the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I asked them to call me when they arrived so I could let them in, when they missed at least 2 services (it could have upward of 4 or 5), I gave them a vendor code so they could let themselves in, but they still were leaving "Sorry we missed you!" sticky notes. One time I was sitting directly in front of the main (glass) door to our office when they left a "Sorry we missed you!" sticker on our door - no knock, no call and I would have heard them try the vendor pin. They wouldn't send us receipts or follow up with missed deliveries; I had to beg them to pick up their own storage box after we cancelled our service. Over the course of about 6 months, I probably spent about 25 hours dealing with just Shred-It to only ever get 1 pick up (which happened after they "Missed us!" and I had them turn their truck around because I know they saw me - they finally emptied our bin, ensuring to be as loud as possible during a visibly important sales meeting). I then had to call and call just to pay our final invoice, which they followed up a month later saying they never got the payment (we had a confirmation from our bank) and once I reached someone they had no idea what was going on. Oh and they charged us for a pick-up that never happened, and just to end this nonsense, we paid it because I couldn't stand the idea of having to talk to someone from Shred-It any longer (their hold times are also excruciating - it gets better and better!). This company needs to be shut down, I didn't believe this level of disfunction was possible.
