Fraud and scam company. I pre-paid a car in Hawaii, after 3 month of return I was charged 306.94$ for fuel and the Loss Damage Waiver, which I did not agree to. I returned the vehicle with a full tank and had primary insurance through Geico. Additionally, since I booked using my Chase Sapphire card, I had secondary rental insurance, so I didn't accept and don't needed any insurance from this fraud company. Never ever ! Rental number *********, you can't call and speak with any person.

I rented a car from Thrifty Portland International airport in Oregon. I didn't purchase any pre pay gas. But i returned car with full gas. i just filled the gas like 5 min before returning from close by airport with 1 mile. But i was charged 70.17 dollar for FUEL & SERVICE. i tried to contact the Thrifty customer service. Automated message told me me send the fuel receipt at verify at hertz.com i sent the scanned copy of the gas receipt but still no body contacted me and refund me my money. i tried to contact some body at the rental location but nobody is answering my phone. this is looks like a scam these rental car companies are trying to steal people money and nobody is doing anything. may be we should file a Class actions law suite.

Thrifty/Hertz Car Rental in Boston Airport claimed I returned the rental car I had for 24hrs had a broken windshield. I was not aware of any cracks and did not agree to the $500 charge they added for the windshield. This is a scam and no evidence was provided of the damage and the receipt claimed I approved the charge which is false. No person to talk to, period. Perfect cover, scam people for $500, with no phone #'s to call to complain. BEWARE!!!! TOTAL CROOKS!!!

I reserved a car with thrifty. They told me it would be $116 for a midsize vehicle. When I went to check in I was told they no longer have that car & they could give me another one for $370. I feel this was a bait & switch & wonder how many other customers they do this too. I told them no and canceled the reservation. I will not ever go through them again

I rented a car at MCO from 3/12/24 @10am - 3/14 @4:30pm. The original reservation charge was for $136.47 however at time of rental they changed it to $192.00. I've been trying to resolve this since 3/19/2024 and all I keep getting is emails asking me to provide the original booking which I forward every time. I forwarded the original booking and this is the 3rd time I'm being asked to send the same info and every time it's from a different person. My Thrifty Reservation is K**********-Thrifty Customer Care Case # ********. Not sure what is going on with Thrifty ... I just did another rental from them and the original booking for that rental was $248.. immediately charging $163 with a $85 balance to be paid at time of rental. At time of rental they charged $182.00. The over charges is getting very disturbing. There is no number where you can contract them to resolve the dispute. Sadly, customers are being directed to fill out an online form where I never heard back from for the 2nd rental issue Rental Agreement - *********. It's very painful and time consuming to go through this and NO ONE TO SPEAK TO :( .

Crooks upcharged us 900$ while in Maui. The attendant said we’d be upgraded for a couple more dollars/day. Turned out to be an addict al 40$/day and she added insurance we did not request. You can’t speak to anyone they make you write complaints and get back to you 10 days later saying sorry she got you to sign for it. We will never rent a car from these crooks again

Do not use this company ever! I booked and prepaid for a car online with a debit visa and was told at the airport counter I couldn’t rent a car. You can book an airline ticket with a debit visa but not a car? So I was told to contact customer care. I tried for 3 days to get through. Finally after 40 minutes, i was assured by the customer care department that I would receive a credit. I was told that the credit was issued May 5. It is now July and no credit. You can only reach them by email and they keep stating “a credit has been issued; kindly check with your bank.” Customer Service does not exist with this poor excuse of a company. Save yourself the headache!

Thrifty/Hertz Rental is a dishonest scammer. We rented a car and paid for insurance coverage for the trip. The car rental agent at the ****************** told us that the insurance will cover all damages incurred during the duration of our trip. Unfortunately, we did incur a damage to the windshield of the car we rented so I (primary driver) filed for a claim. An Agent from ***** *********** contacted me and said that we owe $1029.00 for the windshield damage. I told them that we purchased insurance coverage but was told that our insurance did not cover for windshield damages and that I needed to have purchased a separate insurance for that. I told them that there was no mention of an additional insurance for windshield damages when we (myself + additional driver) signed our rental agreement. We were simply told that the insurance we purchased will cover all damages to the car, " that we will be able to simply walk away with that insurance should we incur any damages on the car." What was worse was that Thrifty Rental Car dropped our insurance coverage when we filed for our claim. This was done without us knowing it. We were under the impression that we were covered all along. I have copies of both the original and altered documents. This was a horrible experience. There's not a Customer Relations Agent one can talk to at Thrifty or Hertz ( we were told that Hertz owns Thrifty Rental) so we were left to contend with an automated Robot machine. Only time I heard from this company was when their Claims Agent asked me to pay for the damages. This is such a horrible, disgusting experience. Adding insult to injury, only recourse left for us is to write a bad review! Outrageous!!!

Terrible. Made a reservation via Priceline, and Thrifty changed the terms of the rental so they may charge more. Avoid this company !

My experience with Thrifty has been incredibly frustrating. They billed me for a cancelled reservation and have continued to be impossible to reach/incredibly evasive about refunding this charge. When I finally received an email reply about the erroneous charge, Thrifty told me to go to my credit card company to have the charge reversed. Then Thrifty proceeded to dispute my dispute.I have never interacted with a company with such blatant disdain for their customers. Even their hold music is one song on repeat with a man seemingly screaming - This would normally make me laugh if it weren't so infuriating and I hadn't now listened to it for over 2 hours.
