Dear Sirs,My son rented a car in ******* ********** 10/6-13 using my credit card. He returned the car on time and was charged $426.07. We dont dispute the original charge. He was subsequently charged again five days later after an audit, for an additional $450.71 for a detailed cleaning, additional rental day and admin fee, bringing the total now to $876.78. I disputed the second charge with my credit card company and then had to leave the state as my father had a stroke and was in hospice while I was at his bedside until he unfortunately passed away two weeks later. While in ******* and upon returning home, I was informed by my son that Purco, filed sent us a bill for an additional $1246.68 for a dent they say was documented 10/13 and are stating we now owe for the repair, 5 days of lost rental @$49.99/day and an administrative fee bringing the total to now $2122.68 for a week rental on a Corolla.Ive never been so shocked in my life. Ive received threatening letters, emails and phone calls from a Ms ****** at *****. Is this how you treat people? Im going to bring a suit against Hertz for fraud, harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Please, call off your dog at PurCo.

Made a reservation with the Hertz location in Olathe, KS. The night before my trip they called and said they could not rent me a car because they had not vehicles. Unfortuneatly.I did the pre pay . That was September 21, it is now Dec 23 and they still have not given me my credit. I believe the manager at this location does this to pocket the money and then play dumb when it comes to giving credit. Customer Service (which is a laughable term for them) says the credit was processed on Dec 5th, but no one knows what happen to it! Please be warned about Hertz, they are criminal and will screw you whenever they can.

I am greatly disappointed with our first experience using Hertz. Their online check-in program to avoid lines resulted in a long wait for an available car. Once a car became available to pick, it noted there was zero stock and we had to talk to an agent on site. While their prices are cheap ($100 for two days), they take advantage of all their fine print fees. We had a service dog and the company charged us a $200 pet cleaning fee. The car was barely used and left in pristine condition. Despite efforts to talk to Hertz about the fine and requesting evidence to back up their decision, a repeated automated response was provided. I plan to never use Hertz again.

I highly recommend you get a receipt for every interaction with this company, Get everything in writing. Specifically when doing business with the location in St. Albans in West Virginia. They will tell you that you can leave your rental car at a different location for drop off and then charge you thousands of dollars when you do. They will willfully deny accommodating you (when you do as they recommended) and adamantly argue against you while taking your money. If you are in the unfortunate position to require a rental car while in St. Albans, you should seek service elsewhere to avoid excessive (and possibly fraudulent) charges. Renter beware.

Consumer alert! I am not sure if this is an insurance scam or just fraud practice. I rented a car and returned it with a full gas tank on 11/10 to catch an early flight at the *******************. Dropped the keys and milage information in the drop box at 4:30 or so am. The car was fine and the tank was full. A month later, I got an email saying that there was damage to the car and it had been repaired and I owed $$$$. When I contested, was told ... do you have a time stamped picture or video to show that you returned it without damage if not I was responsible and needed to give insurance and or credit card information. I have been trying to make contact with local Hertz and told it is now in corporate claims and that there is nobody to contact in ***********. I am a frequent flyer through *********** and shocked at being accused of something that I did no do and being told ... "if you did not take pictures of the car when you returned you have no recourse and are responsible for the $$$$" Not sure how the damage happened but told now way to talk to anyone in *********** that it was sent to corporate claims. Would give less than a star but the program will not let me.

Charged double because agent changed my online booking from the 16th to the 6th. Therefore, the extra charge. Literally, 15 representatives later, including two managers, I have been given Multiple answers which conflict with one another, have been placed on permanent holds, and have been dealing with the issue for quite literally over four hours. Hertz is a racket.

Hertz is using car accidents to make money. A deer ran into me while driving a Hertz car. My credit card paid out a portion of the bill and I was responsible for the remaining balance. Although Hertz is a publicly traded company, they want their customers to believe that they(customers) get better prices than Hertz. For the minor cosmetic damage that was done to the car, $99 worth of parts then billed 22 hours for labor. There is no way Hertz is price checking their vendors or they are purposely overcharging knowing people will just pay. Plus the administration fee. If Hertz has a insurance company or insurers itself why am I the one paying the adjuster to come out, view the car then take it to the body. My insurance treats me better. Lastly you claim that the deer damage caused $160 of depreciation that is an insufficient amount to lay on someone you want to stay a customer. This has turned me away from the car rental industry and unless it’s for work I wont rent a car.

Extremely Disappointing Service** I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Hertz Rental and their insurance claim management. After an accident, it has been three weeks, and no one has reached out to me, followed up, or checked in on my situation. The customer service is abysmal, with representatives who struggle to communicate effectively in English, making the process even more challenging. The lack of professionalism and responsiveness is unacceptable. I expected much better from a company of this size and reputation. I would not recommend Hertz to anyone based on this experience

Insurance scam I rented a car from this place and took photos of the car prior to driving off. Should have video recorded before and after dropping off the vehicle. I received an email stating that they found damage to the car which was totally fake as I know I had no damages other than what I found in the car. No staff member inspected the car when I picked it up and the guy who received the car told me that I was good. This company is the worse I have delt with as I am a frequent traveler.
