Rental agreement ***********. The Frequent Traveler Program is printed clearly on the rental agreement, yet no points were deposited into my account. Contacted customer service for 3 times via email, 1 time via phone call. Nobody was able to help.

This review is for the Hertz location at ********************************************************************On November 8, 2024, we reserved a rental car to be picked up on November 25th for our one-week vacation trip. We reserved the car on *******'s website. ******* is owned by Hertz. The Hertz location was the address where we were directed to pick up the rental. We arrived at the location on pickup day and were told by the manager that they were not honoring Thrifty rentals the week of Thanksgiving. She offered us a rental for three times the price we had booked (over $700) but refused to honor the rate we reserved with Thrifty/Hertz on the 8th of November. We contacted a local consumer action TV show and plan to contact the ************************'s office to see if this kind of business practice is allowed in ********We had a confirmation number for our rental and a confirmed reservation. We did not understand how a company could refuse to honor its commitment to consumers and charge more after the rate had already been agreed upon. We also plan to share our experience about this business with others (friends, family, and social media feeds) so they are aware of how we were treated.

Worse company to rent a car from. I went booked the car for 2 days. When I went fo pick it up they had none available the women said come back tomorrow. So I went and picked the car up the next day but they still charged me for the day I didnt have the vehicle when it was there fault. Also it smelt like weed terrible and the smell stayed in the car the entire time I had it.

I have two comments: #1) that Hertz should warn customers within the reservation CONFIRMATION EMAILS that those who have made an online reservation with a credit card need to BRING that SAME CREDIT CARD with them on their trip! This didn't dawn on me leaving most of my credit cards at home for safety reasons, especially since I PRE-PAID for the vehicle!!!! I was able to pick out a Gold Member car, but I couldn't leave the parking lot, even though Hertz already charged by credit card, and they already had my money!!!! Through lots of frustrated tears, I spent over an hour in BNA Nashville trying to change the card information so as to rectify this issue through their app, at their pick up desk, and also via an actual person on the phone, not a ****** robot!, but their booking system would not allow it. This needs to change, Hertz! Which brings me to my point #2) thanks to the two gentlemen behind the BNA Nashville pickup desk ****** and ******, for managing to cancel my online reservation and crediting my original credit card, and createa new reservation on the credit card I had with me (and getting it at the same discounted price I reserved it at online). Apparently, no easy task to do with Hertz's system either. Hertz gets 1-star for their corporate short-comings, but 5-stars for their dedicated employees. Thank again ****** and ******!

I used *********** to prepay for a rental a week before the pick-up date, which was scheduled at Hertz, ***************************. An hour before the pick-up time, I received a message that no car was available. When I arrived at the lot, it was full of cars. The Hertz "associate" told me that all of the cars in the lot, about 15 in total, were reserved for uber drivers. When I asked if she could call a nearby Hertz office to see if they had a car for me, she said no. When I asked how I would go about getting my money back, she handed me a Hertz brochure with the number for "worldwide reservations" highlighted. I called the number for customer relations/billing on the brochure. The representative told me I had to request my refund from ***********. (After spending about an hour in loops with bots at ***********, I was eventually able to chat with an actual person at ***********, who kept me on hold to check with Hertz to make sure they had actually reneged on the reservation. I was told my refund could take up to two months.) Bottom line: Hertz and *********** appear to be in cahoots to pilfer from customers. They should face civil or criminal charges.

This was the worst rental car experience I have had in a year. Oddly enough, the last horrific car rental experience I had was also with Hertz. The pick-up of the car took 2 hours because there was only one person working at the location, and he could not adequately take care of all the waiting customers in a timely fashion. I was late to work because of Hertz's poor support for their employees. The drop-off of the vehicle, four days later, was even worse. I was 45 minutes early for the drop-off time. I arrived during the operating hours at the same location where I picked the vehicle up, and the office was closed. The lights were on, and there was even a coffee mug on the desk, but the doors were locked, and there was no answer, either to myself or other customers trying to return their vehicles, knocking on the windows, or calling the number listed on the sign on the front door. Trying to go through the voice-prompt telephone system was excruciating, and it took us so much effort and unnecessary work. Once I finally reached a human being, they were extremely unhelpful, not empathetic to the situation, and basically told me there was nothing they could do. My only option was to drive ***** minutes one way to the closest airport and drop the car off there. I ended up having no recourse but to do this, and not only did this make me late for my current job, BUT I was also late for a future job interview. Also, the person providing me transportation, once I dropped the vehicle off, was late to their job by a substantial amount of time. I am respectfully requesting that Hertz provide SOME level of customer service for this HORRIFIC experience and refund me a portion of the cost of the reservation and use of the vehicle. This entire experience was terrible, and through no fault of my own, I and others involved had to suffer needlessly because of the poor business operations of this company.

Very disappointed that this Hertz location is enacting a fueling scam on customers. I returned the car full, per my rental agreement, and two weeks after my rental ended I received a $130 additional charge for fueling the car. It should not be incumbent on me to prove, two weeks after the fact, that the car was full when I returned it. The Hertz customer service reps that receive the car should note that. I believe Hertz is doing this in order to scam money from customers that either didn't save their receipt or that aren't watching their credit card statements. If this is what is expected from the customer, Hertz should state that at the time of the rental so the customer can provide their fueling proof at the time they return the car. I am reconsidering renting at Hertz in the future.

I was ripped off by this company! I rented a car online via Expedia & was assigned to HERTZ. I paid the amount of the rental date ($44.67) except for the the taxes & other fees ($14.53)which was due upon pick up. Upon picking up the car that day, (since I came an hour early, I was charged for extra hour & took an insurance coverage for the car which was $18.99. This office in Chicago is closed on weekends, since I picked up the car on a Friday, I was instructed to park the car in one of the designated spaces in the garage & leave the key in the designated box when I return the car the next day (Saturday) which I did everything I was instructed. To my surprise when I got the final receipt via email, I was not just charged for Insurance & 1 hour early pick up but 2 days and other extra fees that totaled to $235.42. I came back to the office in person to dispute & clarify the charges but I was not entertained & I was told that they would contact me via phone calk that day. All this time, I never heard from this company. Shame on them!!

We pre-booked online to ensure availability and paid our booking in full for a total of $513.14, so were very surprised and annoyed to find that when we picked up the car there were added taxes and fees of an additional $802.84 plus a $200.00 deposit!! None of these fees were disclosed when we booked online and the representative acted like he couldn't understand why we might be upset about it! We had traveled all day and were on a tight schedule so had to get the car anyway for almost triple the original price quoted. After doing some searching online, it seems many other people had a similar experience, including the gentleman just ahead of us in line. Very, very disappointed and will never rent with Hertz again!
