      Hertz tried to scam me out of $6,500 and I will never rent from them ever again. I rented a car for our trip to ****, and accidentally bumped the passenger side door on a pole in a parking garage. I filed a claim with my insurance, and Hertz tried to add an additional $6500 worth of damages outside of the small damage from our door dent. I was sent to a debt collector bc of Hertz, and thankfully I still had my pre-inspection report from when we first picked up the car which showed ALL of the dents, scrapes, and other damages they were trying to claim were from us and I was able to prove to the debt collector that the $6500 damages were actually there when I rented the car. I received no assistance from Hertz customer service, and was actively scammed. I will be pursuing legal action against Hertz as well.

      We rented a car from Hertz in Argentina (via US website) and it was a dissatisfying experience. We got a white Toyota Corolla in terrible condition. The car was scratched all over had minor damage all around plus a chipped windshield, also the lights were not working properly. When we first saw the car I was livid and asked for a replacement but being the holidays they did not have anything available. They were not helpful and driving that car was embarrassing. They did not give us any discount nor an apology for such awful service. We will not be renting from Hertz again.

      I recently used Hertz for the first time and was furious about their lack of transparency and inability to talk with anyone about my concern. My son was home from college and I had an employee discount using hertz so we rented a car for him. Hertz doesnt take reservations on the phone so we had to go online and it was cheapest to pay upfront. The website gave him choices to pick a vehicle and he checked the option that said cheapest rate, managers choice. When we arrived, an electric vehicle had been chosen for him. Not being familiar with electric vehicles, I declined the vehicle but their only other option was a compact non-electric car for an additional $10/day. I had no other options, there was no one there in mgt to talk with so we had to pay an additional $70. This is a bait and switch tactic in my opinion, it should be clear on their website if an electric vehicle is going to be the car reserved as managers choice. I have always dealt with Enterprise and never had any issues or concerns. Although they are a little pricier, they are reliable and up front. I ended up spending more at Hertz. I shouldve looked at the reviews first, looks like Im not the only one unhappy with Hertz!!

      We were treated with DISHONESTY by this business.On Sat 1/4 we did a test drive of a 2023 Jeep Renegade.Early in the morning of Monday 1/6 we called them to buy the car. We were already preapproved for an auto loan from our bank and just needed a purchase order from them to complete the transaction. We talked to our bank and the expectations was that the transaction can be completed in the day.Despite we talked to them 11 times and visited their site 3 times between Mon and Tue they didn't provide the purchase order, always missing their own deadlines and making delays (I can provide a detailed timeline and more data if needed).Then on the afternoon of Tue 1/7 they called us to say the car was sold - no explanation given.The sales *** names were ******** and ****.

      HERTZ TOOK ZERO RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROVIDING ME WITH A BROKEN OVERHEATJNG CAR. TOLD ME TO RETURN TO AIRPORT AFTER AT MY OWN EXPENSE TO GET ANOTHER CAR AT THE BEST RATE IF I NEEDED A WORKING CAR, AFTER CAR BROKE 20 MINS AFTER I LEFT THE AIRPORT RENTAL CENTER, AND AFTER WAITING 1 HR IN LINE BECAUSE THEY WONT HIRE ENOUGH AGENTS TO TAKE CARE OF BOOKINGS. HORRIBLE, THOUGHTLESS, UNETHICAL, CARELESS, IRRESPONSIBLE COMPANY, PUT ME IN DANGER ON THE SIDE OF EXPRESSWAYS OF *****, THEN CLAIMED THEY HAVE NO ABILITY TO PROVIDE REMEDY FOR THEIR BROKEN VEHICLE AND THE SITUATION THEY PUT ME IN. SICK AND TWISTED.

      DO NOT give this company your money.Greenwood - **************** ****************************************************** Never told us we cant park a vehicle there so now we have to make two trips to go get a car (40 mins each way OVER 2.5 hours just to get the car) !!Did not give us a credit did, not give us a discount, did not do anything to try to make it right.

      During the rental pick up process on 12/28/24, the agent offered a Fuel Purchase Option, which was presented as not having to return the rental car with a full tank and pay $2.79/gallon at rental return for refilling the tank to full. I returned the rental car at 3/4 tank full, After a few days past the rental return and no adjustment was made to my rental charges pertaining to fuel purchases, l reviewed the rental agreement, finding that it charged me $53.18 for a full tank of fuel, and stated "You pre-purchased a full tank and may return at any fuel level". The rental agent totally misrepresented the Fuel Purchase Option to me. This is a fraudulent conduct for Hertz.

      I don't normally write reviews for companies but hertz is a terrible company. Never rent from them. I rented a car because I had an emergency, it was only for one day. 1:36 am to 7:38pm. I fueled the car and nothing wrong should have gotten the deposit back. Instead they charged me for 2 days, saying I dropped it off at 12.30am the following day. Called their customer service they keep giving me the run around charged me 4 times 140, 130, 122. Told me i would get a refund 2 weeks later. I got a refund for 2/3 of what I'm supposed to get back. Still having issues getting the remaining 1/3 for a day i didn't use. I would give hertz 1/2 star if I could. NEVER USE THEM!!!!!

      I booked a car through **** driver app and Hertz didn't honour my reservation even after sending me a confirmation email. After I spent $40 on **** ride to get there to pick up my car, they said I should have called first and there's no availability of **** drivable gas car next six months! They said reservation is not a guarantee! It's unbelievable that an ********************* can't maintain its inventory and systematically harass their customer this unprofessional way! I am sure they give away these reserved car to others for bribe/cash without management's knowledge. I experienced similar reservation breach on two other Hertz car rental outlet as well. This ill practice is going on for a long time in conjunction with ****. They have a fancy online booking app, but it never works! Canadian citizens are being harassed day in day out. Government must take action to stop this unprofessional, deceiving practice.

      Hertz is absolute garbage. I was overcharged on two separate occasions. *If* you are able to get onto customer service after waiting for 30+ minutes, they are very uncooperative. Also, the rental car was in terrible shape; very dinged up, and poor features for a full size sedan.
