The hertz location in *************, ******* is absolute trash, Stay away. Employees are racist and rude. Place was filthy especially the restroom. Worst the location charged additional products to my contract after I repeatedly told the employee that I declined which is illegal and deceptive. After I caught it, she then lied and said it was part of the rate and was madatory. When I asked for a manager and said for her to confirm that additional products were mandatory and part of a rate so I could record her saying that she then threw me and my 4 and 6 yer old daughters out of the store location in 30 degree weather and refused to rent the vehicle, this was after I had already rented a hertz vehicle that was not maintained and broke down on me and I was suppose to be getting a replacement from this location. The worst customer service and fraudulent business practice I've ever seen!

On 1/30/2025, I rented a vehicle from the Hertz Downtown Pittsburgh location. After the rental period, I received a charge of $400 on my credit card, which I was informed by the Downtown location was a “smoker’s fee.” I immediately contacted the Downtown location to dispute this charge, as I do not smoke, nor did anyone else who was in the car, including my 11-year-old son. I was directed to call the Baum Blvd. location because they processed the return of the vehicle. Upon contacting Baum Blvd., I spoke to an associate who stated that they charge a smoker’s fee if there is evidence of smoking or if a vehicle smells of smoke. After explaining my situation, I was transferred to the manager, Calvin, who informed me that I was charged due to a spill of eggs on the passenger side floor. While I do acknowledge spilling eggs, I attempted to clean up the mess, and I do not believe a $400 fee is appropriate for such a situation. I was not notified beforehand about any extra charges, nor was I informed that the fee was categorized as a "smoker’s fee." This was misleading and confusing, as I do not smoke, and this charge was related to a spill. I am deeply dissatisfied with the handling of this issue. I believe that the charges were not communicated transparently, and the categorization of the fee as a “smoker’s fee” is inaccurate and damaging to my rental history. Furthermore, I do not believe that the $400 charge for cleaning a vehicle is reasonable.

Hertz at ECP airport rented me a vehicle that smelled really bad of cigarettes. I, an introvert, decided to just deal with it by buying air and fabric sprays to try to mask the smell. After my return I get a $400 Outside Cleaning Fee. When I asked about the fee, Im told that I smoked in the vehicle and put it out of commission for 24 hours. How can they rent a vehicle smelling of cigerettes, and then blame the person the rented it to of causing the smell?!

I had a horrible experience the day I rented from Hertz. I had the rental for a week; upon returning it, I filed a complaint with Hertz. I have yet to receive a response back from them in regards to my complaint. I will never rent from this company again as they do not value their customers.

This is relates to Hertz airport location at Newark, NJ. Terrible customer service response after being charged tolls that occurred before my rental period started and also after I returned the rental car to the airport. Customer service did acknowledge that the charges were in error but they quit responding to my request to refund the charges that appeared to be a result of fraud from this Hertz location. This is the first time I have had any issues with renting from Hertz. In the past I have been very pleased with Hertz.

They should be investigated by the government for their shady business practices. Hertz invoiced me January 21, 2025 for a payment they claimed I didn't make September 5, 2024. I have an e-receipt from them and proof of payment from Navy ********************. Most of us are not rich people and are just getting by how does one prepare to have $875 taken from their bank account. If you don't pay, they threaten to repossess the car you're renting and charge you $553.Then you have to battle them, resend them the proof they already provide electronically and banking information. How many people go through this, lose money, their car and possibly go to jail for a false stolen car report?I'm dealing with this and have everything well documented.

Horrible rental company. I was told my insurance would cover the cost of a rental after an accident that was not my fault. All said and done there was a a charge on my credit card bill. I questioned them about it and they said they upgraded me to a bigger vehicle. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THiS ! Stay away from hertz They steal more with a computer than a criminal can steal with a gun

I rented a car for three days they put multiple holds on my debit card, for weeks and said I didn't return car for two weeks! I returned car half an hour before due and nobody to give keys to , the employee told me to leave in car. Took there tram ride to airport for my direct flight from *** to ********** . But somehow they say i didn't return vehicle for two weeks the took out of my account 1485 dollars for a 270 rental! They said after numerous phone calls that I would be given back 1088 dollars but that never happened! Hertz Hurts!!

Hello, I returned this car on Dec 28. Per the reservation that I made, I should have been charged $345. I was charged $931 instead. In addition, the car was not cleaned when I picked it up, and I had to argue with staff at the pickup location just to get the car that I had reserved. The staff at this location told me that no cars were available, and that the SUV I reserved was definitely not available. A small pulled in about ten minutes later, and I had to basically beg someone to let me take this car. I didn't have enough time to wait around for them to flip the car, so I just drove off with the car as is, after SUV checking out with the hertz agent. Please refund the price difference to me. Thank you. I have been renting for hertz for years, but my main complaints from this experience are: 1) This location actively engages in bait and switch, as I was not the only customer there who was denied a car, despite having several cars available on the lot 2) Staff was rude and not helpful 3) I was charged $931 after I dropped off the car, rather than $345, as agreed. Please fix this problem. Thank you
