Thursday April 20th my secretary contacted GoDaddy in an attempt to gain access to our account that manages our website domain for ************************* in *******, **. The Customer Support Team refused her access because she was not the person listed on the account, which is prudent. However, when my secretary informed the individual to whom she was speaking that the person listed on the account no longer worked at the parish, she was told there was nothing they could do. When contacted a second time on April 24th the customer team refused to close the account and told us that our only recourse was to contact legal counsel and file suit. We have secured another domain No affiliated with GoDaddy and have redirected our website to that new domain. All were asking for is our account to be cancelled with GoDaddy and future billing be discontinuedBusiness Response

Thank you for the opportunity to address our complainant's concerns.
While we empathize with their situation, GoDaddy has an established and vetted process to gain access to an account.
Our Account Recovery Team (ART) has been in correspondence with the complainant regarding their concerns. To date, the complainant has been unable to provide the documentation necessary to allow ART to provide access to the account in question.
We encourage our complainant to continue to work with ART to gain access to the account.
Thank you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our complainant.

I have a client whose previous web administrator passed away. We have been trying to work with GoDaddy to gain access to that persons email address under my clients domain. GoDaddy has been completely unhelpful even though we submitted all the required account recovery team support requests and given them our identifications. This has been going on for four months now and even though theyve spoken to both myself and the domain owner, they refuse to help us and now we cant even attempt to transfer the domain to another hosting service! *** even asked to speak with a supervisor and they promise to call me back and they just dont. Theyre essentially holding the domain hostage! My client is 82 years old and when they try to work with him, he doesnt understand what theyre asking for. And then on top of it, they make ridiculous requests for death certificates and a letter from the family! There is no way my client is going to intrude on the family for something like that! All they need to do is either give me the password for the domain administrator email address or to change it so that I can then access the account and begin affecting the changes and the transfer to a new hosting service. I would NOT recommend GoDaddy! Theyre level of support is just criminal!Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to address the complainants concerns.
From the information provided, the complainant does not appear to be a GoDaddy customer. Furthermore, the account in question is associated with Best EZ Domain by ********************* LLC., not GoDaddy.
Best EZ Domain by ********************* LLC is associated with Wild West Domains, LLC, which provides reseller solutions to businesses and individuals to sell domain names and various services.
Wild West Domains, LLC, and GoDaddy.com, LLC are entirely separate legal entities with separate Better Business Bureau profiles.
GoDaddy has not entered into any agreements with the complainant. It appears that this complaint was not intended for GoDaddy, and as such, the complainant may need to file a complaint with the appropriate company.
Best regards,

Thank you for the opportunity to address our customer's concerns.
Upon conducting business with GoDaddy, our customer acknowledged and accepted our agreements, found at ***************************************************.
On April 15, 2018, our customer purchased an Economy cPanel hosting plan for a two-year term via phone transaction. They have since renewed this service in annual increments.
On April 13, 2023, our customer contacted our **** center to inquire about their renewal. During this interaction, they expressed concern over the cost of the renewal as well as the performance of their website. To keep the cost low, they agreed to a monthly hosting renewal in addition to adding an SSL Certificate to their website to try and improve their search rankings.
Our customer contacted our **** Center again the same day, as they were having difficulty generating their SSL Certificate. Our **** Guide informed them the service they purchased was a ************ SSL Certificate, and that if they wished, GoDaddy could install it for them for a one-time fee. Our customer agreed to pay the fee.
Following this interaction, our customer contacted our **** Center a final time inquiring about the monthly hosting renewal at which time they requested to cancel all services and receive a refund. As the hosting renewal and SSL purchases were within our Refund Policy, these services were refunded.
RESOLUTION:
GoDaddy upheld its agreements with our customer in good faith and honored its terms of service.
While service fees such as the installation fee our customer purchased are typically non-refundable, we understand their frustration and have refunded this service to them as a one-time courtesy and gesture of goodwill. They should allow between five to seven days for this refund to reflect with their financial institution.
Thank you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.
Kindest regards,

I had an annual domain name service with GoDaddy.com, which was no longer needed. My account was never authenticated, and so I could not access my account. I provided their team with my passport and drivers license, which was not sufficient to authenticate the account. I called customer service twice to resolve the issue; they told me that since we can not authenticate the account, the account would be closed -- which I agreed to -- and the service would not auto-renew, as an email notification had informed me. The account was not closed, and I was charged via my paypal, contrary to what customer service had communicated to me. I then called customer service again to close the account and delete all personal information; they advised me to send a copy of the PayPal invoice to their team, and I have not heard back in over a week. The customer service was not accurate, reliable, or effective, and I was charged for a service that I was told would not renew. This company has my passport, drivers license, paypal, and personal information, which I would like permanently deleted, as well as my account closed.Business Response

GoDaddy is hosting Spam Bots that is sending multiple emails a day with ****** ads and other spam. I tried to unsubscribe and block them but they are using sub domains and sending more spam. Thank you for the opportunity to address the complainant's concerns.
Based on the information provided, the complainant does not appear to be a GoDaddy customer.
According to a public WHOIS lookup, GoDaddy is only the registrar of record for the domain names in question; we have no control over emails associated with them.
That said, a review of the MX records for the domains shows that the associated email services are provided by ****** Mail. Therefore, the complainant may consider contacting ****** to determine if they have policies to address their concerns.

I am writing to file a complaint against GoDaddy.com, a domain registrar and web hosting company. I recently purchased a domain from their platform and opted for private registration to protect my personal information. However, I have been receiving an excessive number of unsolicited calls about this domain and text messages on my cell phone, which indicates that my information is not being adequately protected.Details of the Incident:Date of domain registration: 4/14/2023 Domain name: tmgglobal.llc GoDaddy account number: ********* Despite choosing the domain privacy option, my personal information appears to have been leaked, leading to numerous calls and texts from third parties. This breach of privacy has not only caused me great inconvenience but also raises concerns about the security of my personal information on GoDaddy's platform.I have attempted to resolve this issue with GoDaddy's customer support and was informed that there is no domain protection selected for my domain. Please see attached screenshot that shows I have selected privacy.Requested Resolution:I request the BBB to intervene in this matter and ensure that GoDaddy takes appropriate measures to:1. Investigate the source of this privacy breach and take corrective actions.2. Remove my personal information from public directories and third-party databases.3. Provide assurance that my personal information will be adequately protected in the future.4. Compensate for any damages or inconveniences that have occurred as a result of this privacy breach.I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter and protecting my privacy. Please let me know if you need any additional information or documentation to support this complaint.Business Response

Not only can my company not use the products and services that we cant use because of a computer glitch on their end, their customer service is inefficient, incompetent, and difficult to reach. Hi,On March 30, 2023, I completed the purchase of domain name cbdxl.com via Godaddy's auction service. Delivery of the domain name was not promptly carried out, and repeated inquiries kept pushing the delivery date, while ensuring the purchase had been successful. However today, I received an email from the company informing me that the sale of the domain name had been canceled and that I had been refunded. Since the domain name's registrar is Godaddy themselves, and given that the purported domain name owner is registered with them and carried out the auction through them (and also that the domain had not expired and therefore could not be renewed post-expiry), and in addition given the fact that I had no say in the resolution of this issue, I demand that Godaddy delivers the domain name as planned, pending payment on my end of the originally agreed amount, which they have reimbursed me without my consent. I've attached the invoice, the record of ******** communications with their customer service, as well as the email informing that they have broken the contract. Many thanks for your assistance,*************************Business Response
