I don't want to add a star. The equipment doesn't work as promised and as advertised. Here we are 5 months into the contract, and the cameras don't always work, and the continuous recording we were promised NEVER WORKED. The loyalty department stated the only reason the continuous recording doesn't work is because the toggle button is turned off on their end. The only solution to fix the problem is to pay more for something that doesn't work (as stated by the loyalty department). The company has bully tactics and once you are in the contract it is nearly impossible to get out of it, even when Vivint is in breach of their own contract. The cameras also don't record all the time and the service is spotty when it gets cold. Also, we were promised continuous recording, and monitoring service. Vivint does not provide either of those, but still charges the exorbitant fees for them. We had a break-in, in full view of the cameras, and the cameras didn't record or pick up any movement. The company responded with trying to force us into paying upfront for the continuous recording fees. If you want to monitor your property and belongings, I highly DO NOT recommend Vivint.

Have gone downhill...When I initially ordered the contract tech tied into existing wiring from previous install from another company. Has worked great for several years. Now vivint wanting to charge to me due to sensors faulting is not theirs, yet their technician used them. I will be looking for another company. ******...

****** and please Never go with this company , they have horrible equipment from overseas that DOES NOT work. Matter of fact it caught my Kitchen on fire directly out of this equipment they sold to me. They have paid me 2 claims out one for the employee that damaged my home and one for the fire damage to my home. The supervisors they have there care even less they actually laugh in your face when you are upset about a situation of the equipment not working from DAY 1 they installed equipment that did NOT even work. Now they have told me oh we will give your the services for free but the sister company that leases the equipment ********************* has now ruined my credit after i paid thousands of dollars to get my credit score about 685. What a joke please stay FAR FAR FAR away from this company, They will destroy your life & ruin your credit!!!!!!! Go with ADT. If i could give a ZERO i would

The prices are astronomical. They say its only $1000 for equipment but after adding things up, the prices do not align and youre actually paying way more. Also, they lie and say theyre doing a soft credit pull but it gave my husband a hard inquiry on his credit and dropped his credit 12 points!!

Don't use this company. There is a reason why they're the cheapest security system out there. I have been trying for 3 months to get my bill fixed and I kept getting the run around. " We will have to send this to the back office, A response will take up between 3 to 5 business days" No one has a personal ext. so you can't call them back so I would have to call again and put in another request because they wouldn't respond back to me. Long story short. I bought a front door camera then wanted to add a backyard camera with a spotlight. All I have been trying to do was get all the equipment put on the same bill over a 60 month period since I am on one income right now and that is what I was originally told was going to happen. Now I am being told that that is not something they can do. All they had to do was refund me and recharge me on one transaction rather than 3. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I am cancelling my relationship with Vivint because I mentally can not handle being treated so badly by a company who should want to help their customers not just give them the run around. Rather than helping me afford their equipment now they're loosing out on a customer all together. I caution anyone who is looking at Vivint to be their home security provider. Just pray you never have an issue because you will be forced to figure it out they WILL NOT HELP YOU!!!! Worst company EVER!!!!

Working with this company has been a nightmare. From the shoddy installation, to the continued equipment issues, and mounting repair charges. I could not urge you enough to stay away. I only wish I would have done my due diligence before making my purchase. During the installation, which was completed by a pair of 19 year old collage students, wires were left exposed and running haphazardly across my garage, a mess of drywall and insulation was left on the floor from drilling a hole to install wiring, and the camera installed on the back of my property was installed with a near useless view. Then comes the multitude of equipment issues and immensely annoying service calls. First, the batteries needed replacing on the thermostat, upon replacing the batteries the system began pushing heat in every setting. This was in the middle of a grueling summer in *******. I called into Vivint for help with the system, after multiple calls and over an hour of technical assistance they determined it was not a problem with their equipment and if I wanted a service tech to come out and look at the equipment I would need to pay for the visit. I ended up calling a local hvac company to come out, they determined the system had been wired incorrectly, they fixed the issue and got my ac back up. That cost me $150. Fast forward a few months and the doorbell goes offline. I tried all the troubleshooting options to no avail so I called Vivint again, after being handed off to multiple **** I finally got on the phone with a very knowledgeable young woman who was very helpful. After walking through countless troubleshooting methods it was finally determined the doorbell was defective so I was sent a new one, that I so comically had to pay shipping on but I digress. So now, present day, I sit in my living room of a cozy 59 awaiting the arrival of a new thermostat. Yes, the thermostat is once again having issues. Just stay away or accept your imminent fate of frustration.

Absolutely would never ever recommend. You pay them off and they act like your account is still open but only contact you a year or YEARS trying to say you paid them off but never closed the account in which they charge you a monthly fee that you will never receive an invoice for until they rack up $1,500 that they try to get you to pay. I have had other friends and family deal with this same kind of scam tactic from vivint. They are the worst company and I would never recommend anyone do business with them. They will lie and say you owe money in which they wont contact you or email you about. Completely insane. I was contacted years after closing this account in which they told me no I never closed it. Oh okay. Play with somebody else. Im not going for that.

I purchased a Vivint Security back in 2021/2022, paid off all equipment and sold the house that the system was attached to in 05/2023. New home owners reached out to Vivint and the Vivint tech informed the new home owners that I would need to call in proceed with a turn over / cancellation so that they could take over the system. I reached out to Vivint and did everything that was requested of me and was told everything was good to go. Purchased a new home on 07/2023 and had a new Vivint Security system installed, I did not pay attention to my credit card statement as closely as I should have, I was still being charged for the original system that I bought in 2021/2022, credit card expired and I started to get an email about account past due. Reached out to Vivint and it was determined that the original system was still in my name, the turn over / cancellation that I did in 05/2023 did not go through. I have been calling Vivint for the past 3 months and get told different things, I have asked for recordings of the phone conversation back in May of 2023 and have not received them yet. The loyalty department is a joke, I have been told by several different Vivint Loyalty Specialist that I can not cancel the original contract because it has a balance and several others have told me that they but in a request to merge my accounts and refund me money paid for the service that was suppose to be canceled out back in May 2023. Vivint does not follow up with what they promise the customer and they are never wrong, it is always the customer's fault is what i have determined. Some of the Vivint Specialist are great and some of them are just robots that repeat the same thing over and over. When I inquired about the decisions from higher above's, the robot specialist can only tell me that the request would be kicked back immediately. Why would a specialist tell me to call back in 3-5 days to see what the verdict is? Should I have received an email?

I've been trying to cancel service for 3 months now. I've followed all the steps with a written notice. Told everything was done correctly and they still have not stopped my service. Worst company I've ever dealt with
