****** 10/21 2022 Vinint security system is horrible. I just sold my house. **************** told me if I pay off my equipment that they would cancel my service without charging me. Now I call back they keep giving me the run around. Please do not get there service. Now I have to call a lawyer to see how I can fight this contract.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Did not have all equipment when installing system, so they were suppose to come back the next day. Called and said that they had to use equipment for another job and would be back in a week. Never showed. Called to cancel and was told that we couldn't because it was more than three days since installation (even though installation never was completed) panel only works sometimes and app only loads sometimes. Horrible company! They are scam artists!

Zero stars!! The previous homeowner had installed a Vivint smart home system. He passed away and the family had to cut the wires of the homebase system due to not knowing the codes and such. When I moved in, I contacted Vivint to reinstall the homebase. I was told that the equipment that was already installed could still be used and they would just have to reconnect the base. I was also told there was no contract and they would wave the installation fee since all of the equipment was already installed. The technician was supposed to arrive after 4pm; he arrived around 1pm, which is fine because I work from home, I just wasn't prepared. When he got here he had me sign the 12 MONTH CONTRACT (that I was told didn't exist) and whatever fees I had to pay that day, INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION FEE I WAS TOLD WAS BEING WAVED. I still wanted the system so I just went with it. He was here for 4+ hours trying to get everything re-connected before finally telling me that he could not get more than half of the equipment working because it was outdated. I must say, he was very nice and informative about the company and how they do things. He told me I would have to upgrade all of the equipment and how much it would cost, which was astronomical, so advised that I just call and cancel the service within the three day window. I called the next day and had the MOST difficult time canceling. They kept giving me the run around and trying to offer deals that were not at all helpful. Finally they tell me my cancelation request has to be in writing, so I do that via email. ***** later still nothing (AND THEY'RE STILL CHARGING ME) so I call again and was told it could take up to 30 days. The next day I get a call from them giving me the run around and different offers again. After telling them no over and over I was FINALLY able to cancel and was reimbursed the money I had already paid. This company is a scam and I will never recommend.

If there was a 0 star then I would rate Vivint a 0. Other than the sweet installer, this company is NO GO. You are TRAPPED. We signed a one month contract thereby becoming a month-to-month customer. Upon deciding ********************** wasn't right for us I called customer service and they said because my husbands name was on the account I couldn't cancel it. Okay, so then my husband called and they said we don't do cancellations over the phone, you need to send in a written Notice of Cancellation, I'll email you the details. Upon receiving the we wrote up a Notice of Cancellation. Sent it to the email provided, (August 8th, 2022) received an auto mated received response and then heard nothing for over 30 days....So we called to follow up. The customer service agent "couldn't find our email in the system" so he requested a screen shot. Which we emailed while on the phone with him (Sept 14, 2022) in the mean time our account showed a $54.11 balance. He said DO NOT pay that because your account should have been cancelled on August 8th, 2022. We said okay, can you confirm that. He said wait ***** hours for our system to update and it will reflect a $0 balance and terminate your contract. Okay, nothing 24 hours later, nothing 48 hours later. Two weeks later (Sept 28, 2022), we reach out and email him if its been cancelled. No response. Oct 3rd, we email him because now we have late fees and an outstanding $110 over due bill. Finally, October 20th, 2022 my husband emails him again and receives an automated outlook response stating the email was "Deleted before read in Montrovia".....um. Not ok. So now, we complied every single email starting from August 8th, and are mailing them Certified Receipt to *****, **. Very unprofessional. Very frustrating. I feel like we've been taken advantage of by a company who's supposed to be providing protection. Bleh. DO NOT USE VIVINT. And whatever you do DO NOT AUTO PAY or you will be paying for services after you request cancellation.

Criminals! BEWARE They will try and charge you for an entire month after you cancel. They require a written notice of cancelation. They can not legally do so! They have to refund the day you contact them to cancel. I will never consider them again. They deserve ZERO stars.

It all started in July when I moved and had set everything up with Vivint for the new homeowners to take over the account. When those new homeowners called, whoever helped them decided to give them a brand new account instead. I call Vivint to let them know of the issue, and they say that they can merge the accounts no problem. That everything will be taken care of within 7 days and that I will receive an email when it's all transferred. Fabulous! Fast forward to September and I still hadn't heard anything from Vivint. I call, and the associate who answered that time told me that the new owners had never set up an account, and that I needed to buy out the contract. Tired of worrying about Vivint (and being billed for a home I no longer lived in) I did so. Huge mistake. I let the new new homeowners know that I cancelled the account and that they would need to get everything hooked back up again. They say, "No, no, no! We have a receipt that we took over the account and are receiving services!" I call Vivint back, let them know all of this, and request a refund because the account should have been transferred and I was lied to when I was told there was no account for the address. That associate told me that she would be escalating the situation and that I would receive copies of all communications and decisions regarding it. Of course, that did not happen. I never received a single email. Now it is October and I am still fighting for this refund. I have spent HOURS on the phone with Vivint to no avail. They are now telling me that I "had to buy out the contract because they set up a new account instead of taking mine over." Of course, the original associate told me they could transfer no problem. They have lied to me multiple times, and I cannot caution you enough to stay away from them as a home security provider.

Its just a soft pull on your credit, not a hard inquiry, its just to see if your eligible. Then proceed to get a Life Lock notification,Credit Karma and Equifax notification. I made it very clear I didnt want anything that will jeopardize my credit!! I just couldnt believe I believed him. I showed him my notifications! Clearly a hard inquiry! Not only that they pulled a line of credit of $6000, $2500 is for the price of installment and equipment. I told him absolutely the h*** not. This is NOT what I wanted!Litterally on the phone 1.5 with customer support only to be transferred 6 different times only to be told to call the creditor that issued my credit and that they were sorry.

The installation of the Vivint system yesterday was appalling. Our home was damaged on the inside and out. The technician left trash, wires, magnets throughout our house inside and out. We have 2 young toddlers in the home. The wires and magnet left behind are not only unprofessional but extremely dangerous for young children. He left screws all over the garage floor and driveway. The technician had the audacity to put his tools on the hood of my brand new SUV. He made additional unnecessary holes in the outside and inside of our house while installing the camera and display. Our doorbell no longer rings on the inside. The technician broke our ****** doorbell while uninstalling it. The backyard cameras are working intermittently. The wires are exposed and poorly run. I could go on but I will stop by summarizing - Vivint charges an outrageous price and unfortunately does not provide a level of service to back it up. The technician was unprofessional, had no regard for our home and the system doesn't even work. Could not be more dissatisfied.

*** came to update system in April2022 after that the doorbell camera did not work. He told me someone would fix it when the parts come in probably take a few weeks. I kept paying then like in June I called them and told them fix this camera they set me up an appointment for a month out. I waited at home the whole day even took leave from work to do so. No one came to my house or contacted me. I stopped paying then they called me like a million times at all hours to tell me my bill was late and I needed to pay. An automated voice thing. Finally I called them again in August 2022 and told them repair it I will pay. They set up another appointment. My husband set up a camera outside to prove no one came I was at home waiting on them. Was called to the school at 215 my daughter had a medical emergency she had a very bad convulsion in Spanish class had to go to er by ambulance. My husband the next day reviewed the video no one came to our home and no one called me. Now my daughter is still having problems MAJOR health problems and they sent this measly 300$ to collection they called me I told them what happened the collection agency told me I dont blame you for not paying. Horrible company.
