Without EVER requesting, consenting, or interacting with this company by phone, mail, email, or in person, a technician from Saela (formerly Edge), was caught 1-24-2023 wiping down and spraying the outside of my house with a chemical... in the middle of WINTER when there are NO INSECTS. I confronted the guy, and he told me he had a service order. As I videoed him on my phone, I told him he was lying and this was all a scam, ... to perform work I never requested and then bill me later somehow. I never ever made a service request or ever contacted this company. I repeatedly told him this was a scam and to get off my property, and that I would call the police. The police came, but he already left. Next, I called Saela three separate times and spoke to three different managers, two times on 1-24-2023, and once on 1-25-2023. I wanted to know how they got a service request, and to make sure I wasn't going to be billed for anything. First manager said there was nothing in their system for my address, and didn't know why someone came to my home. Second manager also didn't know what was going on, and said he would relay my information and complaint to the branch manager, who was supposed to call me, but never did. Third manager also didn't know how I got a service visit, and gave me the excuse that a neighbor in my area requested the service for the wrong address. This made absolutely no sense because I also received a voicemail message from Saela (Edge), telling me that they visited my house. Did my neighbor also accidentally give my phone number?!?!? Every manager said I would not be billed, but who knows what will happen next. All of this sounds like something nefarious is going on. If I am billed, I'm ready to file a complaint with the BBB, IL consumer protection agencies, and any local government agencies that license these businesses.

This is a terrible company. They are predatory and dishonest. The agreement we talked about on the phone was not honored and there was small print in the written agreement which prevented us from cancelling without a hidden fee. We were made to stay on the phone going from one person to another with no resolution. Their business plan seems to be to trick people into paying more than agreed upon, rather than doing a good job.We hired them in January for a pest control problem. They were ineffective. We took care of the problem ourselves. One of the reasons we hired them was because of their BBB inclusion. Apparently this means nothing. Also BBB, why didnt I see all these negative reviews when I checked the first time?

Horrible company. Would give 0 or negative stars if I could.Poor service, ineffective for pest control. They want you to fix your own problems, you are paying them nearly $200 to diagnose it. They spotted openings mice can get in, but charge additional for each 1 inch hole to cover, *** as well do it yourself (we did).Tried to cancel after 3 services, they said we had to pay for remaining 3 services even if we cancel. I said just cancel, they convinced me to let a field manager come out and survey the property for issues.Field manager came out while I was out of town. Did an attic inspection and convinced my wife there was major mouse presents in the attic and SCARED her into agreeing to pay $11,000 to reinsulate the attic and clean out all the droppings. I immediately called her and thankfully caught her while the Saela field manager was there, and berated them for such predatory sales tactics and got the order cancelled immediately.Terrible company, you cannot cancel them without calling and even then you have to convince them for an hour on the phone that you want to cancel. F*** this company.

Saela did not give us satisfactory service and after numerous times we told them to cancel service they charged us a penalty to cancel service. They should receive a negative **** rating.

I don't know why this business would have an A rating. They are extremely expensive and continue to harass me about service when I have made it clear I find them unsatisfactory and do not want further service. They have a ton of paperwork and I tried to read it carefully, but initially I evidently signed up for far more than I wanted or needed. In addition, they sprayed an unsightly yellow goop around and on my house. It took really getting mad to get it cleaned up. They also disconnected my dryer hose and closed up the opening. They ultimately did repair it, or said they did. I did not go under the house to inspect it. The final straw is them telling me service would be $35 a quarter, then sending me a bill for almost $300.

On 1/1/23, I noticed mouse droppings around my kitchen pantry and bathrooms, so I scheduled Saela to come in to address (they have been servicing my home for the past year). Saela came a few days later and laid kill traps in my attics and crawl spaces, as well as sticky traps around our living areas. Within 24h, 4 mice were caught in the kill traps, and ever since, we have not seen any activity. When Saela came to my home the day they laid the traps, the tech investigated my attics and crawl spaces. He reported to me that we had a "significant" and dangerous infestation of virus-harboring deer mice. He showed me a picture of insulation loaded with mouse droppings and said that the picture was taken in my attic. He then laid out an extensive work proposal, quoted me $17,000 for this work, and then proceeded to pressure me into scheduling the work immediately, before talking with my husband and getting a second opinion. I did not commit to this proposal, however, and proceeded to get 4 outside opinions, all of which starkly conflicted with the Saela tech's assessment. I consulted with the realtor that sold us this house 1y ago. She said that the home inspector found no evidence of an infestation the magnitude Saela was claiming. She was very suspicious of Saela's assessment and very uncomfortable with the $17,000 quote for work. She referred me to one of her top contacts in real estate, an engineer who also specializes in pest control. I had this pest control specialist, as well as an Orkin tech and my local handyman, come in to evaluate. All 3 agreed that Saela was being extremely dishonest and trying to scam me, using fearmongering to pressure me into signing a work contract for an astronomical and unheard of $17,000. They all think the picture Saela showed me was likely fake. The pest specialist found no evidence of infestation and nothing that even concerned him. He recommended I report Saela to the BBB. As of 1/30/23, I have cancelled all services with Saela.

      1) Their rodent control package is literally a bunch of wooden snap trap baited with bacon bits. It's supposed to be 100% satisfaction guarantee READ THAT FINE PRINT. They actually mean you'll be 100% satisfied IF you take their advice and shell out (in out case) $15,000 in home renovations. It also says they'll fill in holes that the mice come in and out of as long as they are smaller than... I think they said a quarter. Regardless, they didn't fill in ANY holes at all. They wrapped some copper substance around one pipe under our kitchen sink. The kitchen is the most recently renovated part of the house with the fewest possible holes. 2) I never noticed any fewer insects/arachnids lurking around. They are still there.3) Mosquitos. So. Many.4) They make it incredibly difficult to cancel the service & aren't great about communicating WHEN they're going to show up.

Don't use these people. They spray and 2 days later the pests are still around. I have had them come out 4 times in 2 weeks. If you try and cancel they will charge you 50% of your remaining services. They want to come out and spray the middle of January with snow and ice still on the ground in freezing weather. If you try and reschedule they say can't do it. If you ask to speak to a supervisor they say none available and no garu tee they will call me. DON'T USE THEM.

Beware of Saela Pest Control. They tried to hard sell me on new insulation for my house. All I had to do was sign a contract, give them a down payment and they'd start the next day. Why is a Pest Control company ripping out and installing new insulation when they don't have a Contractor's license for that? Why are they selling that service to people who don't need it? Reported it to supposed manager in **** who couldn't even be bothered to apologize for the offence.
