I've made multiple attempts to secure a technician to correct the problems with the panel, outdoor cameras front and back and front door camera. I've actually been told by a customer service rep that there is no one to service the equipment in my area? They put the equipment in but won't service it? I'm not going to pay for cameras that don't work. First it was oh a storm knock out the connection. I managed to get an appointment but they cancelled it. That's when I found out or was told no one was in my area for service. I'm a 69 year old woman that was completely bamboozled by their sales rep. He's putting it all on Alder stating that once there's a sale it's all on Alder. It's definitely apparent that this company is promoting subpar services and equipment. This sales rep even told me not to call customer services and to call him? For what? He's not helpful as well. My next step is a legal one. I may be an elderly person but I'm not stupid. There's really shady stuff going on here. This company doesn't even deserve one star!!!Review fromAlicia W.

This company is a a fraud, scam, or whatever you want to call it. They told me one thing and billed for another. They didn't send all the equipment that I ordered. So when I wanted to send back they offered to send the missing parts and lower my bill. Once the system was installed, I couldn't use the key pad. There was an error message that would not go away. The instructions and video weren't helpful. There were long hold times everytime I called. Tech support made a call back and when I answered the guy pretened not to hear me talking and then hung up on me. When I finally got through to someone she told me that that system was working fine and a strong signal on her end. I even had an agent mispronounce my name all the way through one call and another to make fun of how I pronounced my name not once but 3 times during another call. The system never worked. When I finally got the equipment sent back to them and they had it for 3 days, but still billed me again. Down payment to activate service was supposed to be $49.99 with free month of service to try it out or a $50 restock would be charged. $59.99 monthly there after. I was immediately charged $108.99. I was billed $62.99 after they already had their equipment. They owed me a $171.98 refund. The only refunded $121.98 and charged me a $50 restocking fee for faulty equipment, inexperienced agents, agents that are sarcastic and unwilling to help, long hold times, being denied the right to speak to an immediate supervisor, and my wasted time. This company sells security systems by being dishonest and deceptive. They say anything consumers want to hear to make the sell. After that, complete lies to get you to keep it. I was offered a lower monthly rate of $29.99 two different times to keep it. The system did NOT it work! I have made several calls to this company and every agent I talked to told me something different. I want the rest of my money back! Do NOT use this company. Horrible company that's selling products that either don't work properly or don't work at all. The sales **********'t got a clue on the products they're selling, and the so-called tech support is worth less; I've been having problems with my back door camera for some time and the technician asked me was I charging the camera correctly... I'll let you deal with that one; but what really got me ****** was that I asked would the app on my phone go off if somebody comes in to the range of the camera, of course the trusty tech support said yes; it doesn't, so I would tell anybody stay away from this company all they want is your money!Review fromSandra B

On 9/15/22 my back door was opened and 1 minute later the alarm activated. I was across the country and had pulled up my camera system just to make sure kids had turned lights off and happened to hear my alarm sounding. It had been going off for over 4 minutes. I disarmed it from my app and checked cameras. I was not contacted nor was law enforcement. I have made 3 phone calls totaling nearly 2 hours with customer service and tech support. I have been told it's a faulty door sensor, faulty control panel, poor internet connection, and my kids' error in setting the alarm. I never complained about the equipment, my only question to them was why my alarm went off for over 4 minutes and no one was notified. They stated it has to sound for **** minutes before anyone is called. Seriously?!? My alarm was activated in the past due and I know for fact that I was called within 2 minutes and law enforcement was called immediately after when I was unable to be reached. Do they realize the amount of damage/harm an intruder can do in **** minutes? This is completely unacceptable. They offered little apology and no resolution to this problem. I used to feel safer with an alarm system but Alder and their lack of concern and blame game has definitely changed my mind.Review fromMaureen W

Interesting that I LOST my credit card which has an automatic payment on it and can't figure out how to restart it.I tried for 25 days to have my system transferred to my new home: nothing from Alder. On 8/22 I was threatened by a contractor I had fired so it was imperative that I had an alarm on my house, again, nothing from Alder. They were trying to find someone to install it. I told them they breach their contract with me and to send the cancellation notice to me. I am sending them a certified letter outlining how THEY were the ones that breached the contract by not being able to keep me safe.********************* is the *** of Alder Holdings- https://www.linkedin.com/in/*********************-282681b/ I am trying to reach out to him on LinkedIn. Not sure I will hear from him or not. They were also informed that I will take legal action against them if they turn me over to any credit agency or put it on my credit report. This company is horrible there are threatening to not send me door sensors because I don't want to sign up for another 5 years of my life with a sorry company how am I supposed to secure my home if I don't have door and window sensors they told me that if I didn't upgrade inside a contract that they wouldn't send me Anything what kind of company does this I should have the option of whether I want to stay with the company or not this is the worst company I've ever seen in my life Better Business Bureau need to get behind and find out why are they able to do withReview fromDebra B

I don't want to post a star at all with this review, because this miserable enterprise doesn't deserve even one. I'm ashamed to say that we've been customers since June of 2018. We have not had service since June of this year, and we have no clear indication of when it will be restored...something about this mythical new panel and due to supply chain issues, there aren't yet enough of them to go around. Still, payments are taken automatically from our account, and cannot be suspended. I've long since lost my sense of humor with them, and yesterday I lost my temper. I threatened to cancel our account and send all of their c*** back to them, and they told me to go right ahead, because we signed a 60-month contract. My bad...I had assumed that it was the standard ***** months, but when I reviewed our paperwork with them on the phone, I saw that it was indeed 60 months, so we're stuck, and these lousy cretins are not motivated to make things right in our case for another 8 months. I hope that they at least have the decency not to continue marketing, but if they are and you see them, don't walk away...RUN!Review fromVern S

I tried to cancel my service for which I do not use and was told that I couldn't because I had signed a 4 year commitment. I was told it was only a one year commitment. After speaking with an "Account Manager" I got nowhere fast. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, he told me he did not have one. The only way to get out of the contract would be a pay off of remaining months and they would not tell me what that payout amount was.Extremely frustrating dealing with Alder. This company is horrible. My alarm system has been down for the last 6 months. Every time I call them they state they do not have any technicians to come out to the unit. I advised them that I would get another system if they where not able to come and fix the system and they said I would have to pay the cancelation fee even though I have been paying them for 6 months with no service. They also stated that the 6 months that I paid would just be a lost if I canceled. It could not go towards the cancelation fee. At this time they still do not have a date or time for a technician to come out and fix my home. And they are not whiling to let me out of the contract.Review fromLisa H.

I, among many apparently, give this company a One star only because zero isnt an option. Their rep came one day knocking on our door because he saw another companys sign in our yard. That was his exact words. Opening our door was our first mistake and listening to his hoard of lies was our next. He talked a good talk about cheaper rates and better equipment. Even went as far as to say the other company automatically renews their contract if you dont call them in time after your original contract ends. Told us we had 30 days to cancel Alder if we didnt like it. ALL LIES! Sadly my elderly parents on social security changed as well. None of us like the system and as with several others that I have now read about we were told it was 3 days and now they say we have to pay $2000 each to cancel. I told them how I felt not that it matters. I dont know how these people sleep at night! This is horrible! I saw one say he wanted to **** I think we should all file a class action suit! This company is horrid! They need stopped!! Im certainly willing to join one! This is infuriating to say the least! Especially reading they still have continued to take money from accounts after being requested to cancel! Horrible, horrible people! DONE WITH ALDER! PLEASE DONT SIGN UP WITH THEM!!!!
