I live at one of their communities. I have never been so shocked how a management company can refuse to manage what they are paid to. Total lack of responses, neglect to the communities, unsupportive to the staff, complete incompetence with legal documents (leases have other community names, information, duplication, inaccurate community details, and more), negligence with current resident health, safety and welfare. I’ve never seen a management dump a property from an A property to a low-grade B property so quickly. Weed, noise, aggressive dogs, feces everywhere, condoms in the pool, dirty amenities, amenities unkept and unmaintained. Are owners researching management companies properly?! What a joke and disappointment.

The management company Greystar is horrible. After the HFCC takeover at Koda in Fremont and moving to Greystar management, they have gone downhill. I had a move out inspection and drove over forty minutes to come to a closed leasing office because the employee was sick. I would think a courtesy call would be given. After getting our final bill I see we were charged for some cleaning and paint fees. I asked for an invoice from the vendor and pictures of the job being done as on the move out form it states if we want to waive receiving images or not. I definitely did not waive that right. Instead I got emails from Amber showing the condition of the unit. We left the place clean besides normal wear and tear and I had pictures of it. The pictures I saw from Amber had missing knobs and residue while the pictures I took right before the inspection, all knobs were present with no residue. I was even told there was no shower head in the bathroom so I sent them a picture I took of the bathroom right before inspection with the shower head on display. I also sent them a flyer provided by them of a company they use for paint and cleaning and how much the charges are. In return they shockingly say they paint in house. If you paint in house why would you send a tenant a flyer of another company listing out charges that you will inflate later? Not sure what fishiness is happening behind the scenes here but it looks like someone in management is going to empty apartments and making it look like things are missing or messed up. Definitely steer clear of this place. I have noticed many people move out after the old owners left and I can tell why. Noise levels are extreme in the hallways, kids running around all day long as well as no sound proofing. You can hear every step your neighbors are taking. Can’t fault people who are living but just horrible construction done by the owners.

If I could give zero stars I’d give that. Greystar is absolutely unprofessional. They refuse to get back to their residents with valid explanations as to why there are “prior charges” as well as double fees for “pest, trash, water,” and so forth. When brought to their attention the company does nothing but make excuses. I was told these charges were charges to my account due to the fact that when I moved in, on Sep 2023 the “old management was undercharging us” which makes absolutely no sense. I’m so tired of these excuses and I truly hope this company gets taken.

My daughter rented from this property management company in Charleston, SC. At the end of the lease there was damage to the carpet which we aknowledged. Avana Longpoint (Greystar) sent an invoice for the damage ($888.98). I worked for several months with a representative of the company who always referenced the $888.98 figure in her emails. I have since paid the amaount in full. Now, the invoice has changed and they are saying thay I owe another $481.69, which I refuse to pay. They are harrassing me with notices that I am past due. Stay away from this blood sucker!

Everybody who work for grey star are complete con-artist and scammers. I had a move in day for march 24,2025. Unfortunately, Due to me not having A “Cashiers check” I was unable to move and it was allegedly their only form of payment which is false, I feel as though I was definitely discriminated against being that the property “Prose lakeside” is fairly knew and only has been open for about 2 months time being black unfortunately I don’t think I fit up to their standards or liking so they made it **** for me so that I would no longer be interested in the property. Who’s to even assume everyone has a bank to do a cashiers check? I’ve previously rented other apartments that were top tier luxury and they didn’t even REQUIRE a cashiers check.

Current Resident – Find Somewhere Else to Live; ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!! IN RESPONSE TO A ****** REVIEW, LEASING AGENT MAYA TAYLOR FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST ME WITH THE HYATTSVILLE DISTRICT COURT. I started a lease in August 2024 but did not have access to heating until March 7, 2025. This lack of heating came after I submitted a ****** review detailing my experience at the Highline Apartments and contacted the Hyattsville Office of Code Compliance. Code Compliance confirmed the non-operable heating system, unsanitary conditions around the property, and other issues. In retaliation, leasing agent Maya T***** accessed my personal information and filed a peace order complaint against me with the Hyattsville District Court. The case was dismissed; however, I fear that Maya's motivation was to obtain a judgment against me as a private citizen to weaponize it in her professional role in the leasing office. Such a judgment could have inadvertently violated my lease, giving Highline a reason to terminate my lease before my ongoing claims against Greystar, the property management company, could be adjudicated.

Greystar is horrible and the managers they hire even worse. City Gate apts were discriminatory, charged outrageous fees after we moved in and we were never told about them. I will never rent from anything they run.

Greystar has not returned any of my attempts of correspondence in attempt to contact them regarding the refund of my deposit. It's has been over 30 days since I have moved out and they provided my a move-out statement. They try to deflect you and tell you to reach out to Smart Disburse but if Smart Disburse doesn't receive your information from Greystar how can they update you about your refund? It just gives you the run around. The office at Avana on Broad in Durham, NC (property I moved out of and that infested with roaches, not an understatement) will not answer the phone and keeps their doors locked at all times, I've also left messages and no return call. I've even submitted a message through the Greystar website directly and have not heard back either. If you call the local corporate office in Raleigh, NC there is no answer at all, you don't even have the option to leave a message. It makes me upset that I moved into another Greystar property and will potentially have to deal with this again in the future upon move-out again. I have never in all the years of renting have paid my rent late. Why can't they extend us the same courtesy. I don't understand how Greystar is allowed to break lease terms when it comes to returning a deposit but if a resident were to not pay there would be far more serious consequences.

I wish I had seen these reviews before I moved into a Greystar apartment. Terrible company with employees who treat you badly, my lawyer is ready to sue this company as soon as I can move out of this apartment. NEVER move into a place run by this company, that's the best advice I can give you!

Curc Tucson manager Gina is a nightmare to deal with, a true joke of an executive. Foolish mistake after mistake and knowingly poor choice after poor choice, she’s created massive and growing legal/financial problems for me to manage as part of a recently-former tenant’s council. In this time ive only experienced Gina operate with willing irresponsibility, and calculated/deceitful unaccountability to guise her impotent leadership. Im still dumbfounded by the ludicrous lies she continuously tells to try and save her image and her job, even in front of her immediate boss on email. Ie. “you were never a tenant; xyz meeting never happened” etc. reiterated to the former lease-holding/paying tenant with their own meeting receipts and witnesses. These receipts including those related to Gina’s current manipulative coercion of a meeting witness (who happens to have personal ties with/stake in her). This manipulation exercised in favor of discrediting the tenant and silencing me as a member of his representation. The relentless effort she puts to veil her blatant inadequacy and negligence is really unlike anything ive experienced before. She has ultimately proven herself to be an entirely incompetent, unethical, integrity-lacking professional— rather than a true executive working in the interest of those she’s responsible to.
