      They are horrible. They basically trick you into paying $1.89 for insurance. What are they insuring against? It's darn-near impossible to remove that charge. Rather than make it an option to take, it's a difficult to make the option to not take, if that makes sense. Since they are paying pennies on the dollar for books, often ***** on the dollar for books, it takes a huge percentage of the sale. And, as in my case, when they CLAIM to not receive something, as again in my case, the one item that pushed me over the threshold of minimum sale, a large box of shrink-wrapped, anatomy study flash cards which they were to buy for $11 and something, they claimed it wasn't in the package. Then they provide still shots of YOUR package(s), theoretically, being opened by someone. They show just little enough that who knows what package it is or whether anything you sent is in that useless shot. And anyway, couldn't they just set the thing they say they didn't get aside and take a picture? It's not rocket science. Theoretically, they only send a check for sales over $10. Well, lucky me. Since they claimed to not have received the $11 item and charged me $1.89 for NOTHING, I just got a check for $.48. If I had known what shysters they were, I would have just taken these books to Goodwill. It would have been a lot easier and at least I wouldn't be disappointed that I got nothing in return. I'd get the warm fuzzy of giving. Or, as I'm going to recommend, I'd stick with ********************. They're not perfect by any measure, but they are a far cry from these guys. My god I hate them. This was a terrible experience. Oh, and any communication you engage in with these folks is firstly, NOT timely. They're slow as you-know-what. Secondly it's either: We never got it, for which I'm dubious, or: The quality is not what was quoted, for which I am even MORE dubious, or even: The price changed while your book was enroute to us. Again, what does the $1.89 cover? Steer clear of these guys.

      Booksrun has no customer service basically, only a de-facto one... I have only sold books to them, the first time they stole a criminal procedure book from me. I sent two of the same books they only paid me for one, when I notified them about the mistake, they closed the other order, kept the book, and never responded. I recently was stupid enough to sell them some three more books and just typical, poorly ran business, they are taking to long to pay out, even though I pick the PayPal option... The first time took about three to four weeks to get paid anything, and it came in more than one payment... Which is pathetic for a real business... The books are being marked as received, no payment, plus the post office marked it delivered and it took almost 5 days for Booksrun to show they received the books. Considering, this is their business, with today's technology, this company is obvious not above board. Plus, they are not even accredited on the BBB website, enough said.Oh yeah, I sold only law school books, you think they would want to be a reputable business, so I would want to order my books from them... Oh well, there loss. lol

      BEWARE & DO NOT USE! I see that I made the mistake of not checking out the company reviews on BBB and they are a TOTAL SCAM! Sent in textbook that was basically new and was originally supposed to get $36 and then it tracked as delivered and it went down to $27 for a $117. 00 textbook. Heres the kicker! They received the book on Oct. 17th, 2023 and looks like Im not getting the so called check in the mail. No response to multiple contact us messages Ive sent.Next time, Ill just donate it to the library like I wanted to do in the first place.

Our processing department carefully inspects each and every book and distinguishes the items in accordance with a wide range of features.For these reasons, the condition of the book in question was automatically changed from Used - Very Good initially quoted to Used - Acceptable, and its quote changed accordingly.Check #****** for buyback order #******* for the amount of $27.3 was successfully sent to the address provided by you within the order details on 10/20/2023. Delivery of the check usually takes from 3 up to 20 business days, depending on the proximity of the customers address to our location and the work of the mail carrier.       Seriously with all the complaints about this company, how are they allowed to continue. I am so irritated that the BBB is not taking action against booksrun.com. I purchased a book from booksrun and then dropped the class so I never used the book but decided not to try to return for a refund because it was on me. I just decided to try and sell the book back to them. I literally took the book out of their shipping container and put it in a new shipping container and mailed it back and wS quoted to receive payment for about half of what I paid for the book. Then I get an email saying I will receive $0 because the condition of the book is not suitable for them to buy and I can get the book back but I will have to pay shipping. Unbelievable!!!

Our processing department carefully inspects all items received and acts within the framework of our policy to guarantee the rights and obligations of our valued customers.Therefore, by taking into account the quote adjustment, your order was placed "On Hold" for 7 days so that you could either accept the quote or decline it and have the items shipped back to your address.       I submitted a box of 22 new textbooks books which they received on September 12th, 2023. I was told I would receive over $300 within 3 to 4 days of my order being received. It is now September 19th, 2023 and I have received NO money at all. I have just gotten repeated emails that my books purchased (at my campus bookstore) were counterfeit so they will not pay me OR send my books back to me. NONE of my books are counterfeit. Of course, they only claim this on the books I sent that were worth the most money. DO NOT SEND YOUR BOOKS TO THEM. They are a complete scam. Their "customer service" does not answer any requests for answers.

      I contacted BR 7 days ago about returning a book because I bought the wrong textbook for my class (the books had the same name, different authors). After digging through their FAQ I found I could return within 21 days. Well, it has now been 21 days since purchase, but I have not heard back about HOW to initiate the return. All of the website info is about how to return rentals, not mistaken purchases. Will not be buying from them again, since they seem to be purposely hiding information to make it so I can't return this book I don't need.

      It appears that I am one of many with a 1 star review. I'd give it zero if I could. I bought a textbook at the med school where I work, it was brand new however a collegue gifted me the exact same book. So I decided to sell it to Books Run. They never paid me AND kept my book saying it was "fradulent". I have tried countless times to contact this business and they have never responded. This is a shady company and I advise everyone to stay away from their deceptive trade act practices. BBB should investigate them.

Moreover, we do not have any opportunity to check and know for sure what exactly happened with the book in the process of shipping, however, it was delivered with the torn binder. Your buyback order was processed in accordance with the existing ******************* which implies that books with a condition that does not correspond to the one initially stated, get their quotes adjusted. According to our ******************* items with heavy wear in the order may have their quote adjusted or be not eligible for buyback at all. Your order was placed "On Hold" for 7 days on 07/19/2023 so that you could either accept the quotes or decline them and have the items shipped back to your address. The notifications regarding the condition of the books received and the opened disputes were sent to your email address. However, since no decision was made, the adjustment was accepted automatically by our system and the order was processed on 07/28/2023. We also understand how frustrating it may be to pay for shipping of the item back, but please try to understand our position on this matter. We provide prepaid labels for all our buyback orders and lose a significant amount on shipping and handling. The return shipping fee of $8.95 for the first book and $3.99 for each item thereafter includes: 1) shipping from customer's address to our processing facility; 2) shipping from the processing facility to the customer's address; 3) handling; 4) packaging. We hope this information gives you the understanding of our policy on returns.Please be kindly advised that the fact that you contacted us via email does not mean you may disregard the order dispute and still expect the items to be returned to you, as the action and response are to be stated there from your side.       This is an unacceptable response. This book was a hardcover book we ordered from Books Run on 12/28/2022 in Used-Very Good condition. Order #*******. The book ended up never being used in my Wifes course and therefore was in the exact same condition we purchased from you. If you do not make this right, you have forever lost a customer and I will be sure to share this information with any and all students my Wife teaches and associates with.

      I sent four of my books in excellent condition. Three out of four textbooks had zero writing/underlining/highlighting. I packed the books tightly and wrapped them multiple times so that they wouldn't slide around. I take extremely good care of my books, but somehow, the book that BooksRun was going to give me the most for, has some kind of liquid damage to it. They didn't notify me about this--I happened to look at my account the last day that you could communicate with them about whether to accept the reduced rate. I'm never using this company again, and I'm really upset that they are only willing to pay me $75 for books that were sent to them in excellent condition that cost me hundreds of dollars.

Your buyback order was processed in accordance with the existing ******************* which implies that books with a condition that does not correspond to the one initially stated, get their quotes adjusted. According to our ******************* items with heavy wear in the order may have their quote adjusted or be not eligible for buyback at all. Your order was placed "On Hold" for 7 days so that you could either accept the quotes or decline them and have the items shipped back to your address. The notifications regarding the condition of the books received and the opened disputes were sent to your email address. However, since no decision was made, the adjustment was accepted automatically by our system and the order was processed on 08/08/2023. We also understand how frustrating it may be to pay for shipping of the item back, but please try to understand our position on this matter. We provide prepaid labels for all our buyback orders and lose a significant amount on shipping and handling. The return shipping fee of $8.95 for the first book and $3.99 for each item thereafter includes: 1) shipping from customer's address to our processing facility; 2) shipping from the processing facility to the customer's address; 3) handling; 4) packaging. We hope this information gives you the understanding of our policy on returns.It appeared that the book was received with a liquid stain of unknown origin, the images of the damaged were also provided. For these reasons, we also strongly recommend wrapping the contents of the package in plastic to prevent damage during shipping. Our processing department carefully inspects each and every item, and we always calculate the price of the items received with any kind of damage for all our buyback orders. As a rule, we do not purchase items that have any water stains and curled pages, because such items are not eligible for buyback program as the price applicable for them is too low and they are not desirable by wholesalers and individual buyers. In some cases, the water damage itself may be minor, but even such signs of it significantly affect the final price of the book, especially considering the fact that the book is used and not actually brand new (an unopened item in its original packaging).We are always happy to assist customers with any arising issues in a timely manner and have no interest in deceiving or holding the payment from clients.
