      This is a terrible company. Their service is unreliable, they raise prices with no notice, and they are charging everyone in my building a different fee for the same service. Today, I had an equipment failure, and having a technician come out to fix it might cost me $79.99. They could not explain why this is a "maybe" other than to say it's at the discretion of the technician. The only way to avoid the fee is to spend an additional $4.95 for the protection plan. The worst internet service provider I've ever had.

      Not only does Astound make customers call in once or twice a year due to exorbitant increases in our bills. When you call in the customer service is very poor. I made sure not to raise my voice, and I tried to tell them what my problem was. They not only put words in my mouth, they did get loud, which did not go over well with me, and I requested to speak to someone else. Who also told me basically I was being unreasonable and I should buy my own modem and that the competitors are not any different. This company makes customers call in twice a year to beg for a better price and then three months later, my bill was raised anyway $15 , the price gouging and **************** is horrendous

      Astound broadband has to be the worst service provider I have ever attempted to use. I had switched my service from Spectrum to Astound because they seemed to be a good affordable option but I was very aggressively mistaken. I had gotten their internet service installed, which worked for about 1hr after the technician left. I tried several times to get the service fixed but to no success. I work from home and I need internet so I ended up canceling and switching back to spectrum. I had the service connected for less than 7 days and at no point was I able to actually use the service. Within that week I received multiple recurring emails stating that I had to pay $58.49 for the service after I had just made payment of $58.49 to see if thats why the service wasnt working. I got 3 of those, and when I cancelled I was told that because I was still within the 30 day cancellation period I would get a refund. I never did. So I ended up reporting them to my financial institution for them to process my refund. Equipment was returned the same week of cancellation and now Im receiving letters from them stating that my payment wasnt processed and that if I dont pay it they will report me to the credit bureau. Astound is an absolute scam theyre more interested in charging you for their services than actually providing them. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a more affordable option, theyll try to take more from you with nothing in return than the higher priced service providers out there that actually make good on what you are paying for. Ive I could give then 0 stars I would. ******.

      RCN CABLE! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE QUCIK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT NEVER FIX ISSUES. THEY OFFER CREDIT THEN NEVER TAKE OFF **** WHEN YOU CALL ABOUT YOUR CREDIT THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO NOTES CUSTOMER SERVIVE HORRIBEL RUDE STAFF. I DEAL WITH THEM BECAUSE WHERE I LIVE NO ONE ELSE OFFERS SERVICE .HATE THIS COMPANY THE ONLY REASON WHY A STAR IS MARKED BECAUSE THEY WONT LET ME LEAVE MY COMMENT WOTHOUT SELECTING DONT USE THEM IF YOU CAN AVOID!!!!

      Astound refuses to cancel their services until the next billing cycle. This is ridiculous that I have to pay for services I am not using. Every month my bill goes up. I am sick of being taking advantage of by Astound RCN. I will never recommend Astound to anybody. Astound doesnt deserve a star rating. Terrible customer service. It is all about the money

Our policy now is that internet-only customers are billed to the end of their current billing cycle when disconnecting service.       After more than 20 years of service, we cancelled our account because we found a better offer that combined our internet and phone services. Over the years, the service personnel swapped out the modem when it needed to be upgraded. As requested after cancelling our account, we returned the modem. We were told that we returned a customer-owned modem, and then we were charged for not returning the Astound/RCN modem. In trying to resolve this, there was no consideration that there may have been an error in their records, and that I simply returned a modem I had purchased. I am so happy to be done with this company.

      I've just had the worst experience with RCN and I'm not surprised they have a 1 star review here.I reached out on August 14 to customer service to cancel my service because I'm moving at the end of the month. They confirmed that my service would be cancelled/discontinued on August 31. Then on August 15 my connection went down and I contacted customer service to resolve the issue. They informed me that although they had confirmed it would last until August 31, that my service had been disconnected early on the 15th and that the only solution was to resign up for a month of service at a higher rate -- I was only 11 months in to my original contract where I was getting a special introductory rate. All I wanted was for them to honor the original contract and the communication in which they confirmed when my service would be disconnected. They however would not and they best they could do was say "sorry"!I would highly recommend staying away from this company or being extremely diligent in how and when you communicate with them for any changes.

      Fo the second time this week, Astound Broadband has had a significant internet service interruption in my area. We lost internet service at 8:00 am this morning and their best estimate is that service will be restored at midnight tonight. It is very difficult to work from home without internet service.

      I called to cancel my service one hour after my autopay hit my account. They were completely unwilling to refund me, after years of being a paying customer. They would rather have $80 then have me as a customer.

      Since Astound bought out Wavecable the service has gone downhill drastically. We are left without phone, computer Internet for working and television constantly. Astound does not feel they have any obligation to reduce bills for interrupted service, in fact the bill keeps going up. Way too much to pay for the c*** service we receive.
