      We had RCN for internet and TV for nine years. RCNs customer service was abysmal, and I cant believe we waited so long to switch to another provider. After nine years with the same TV remote, it finally stopped working reliably. I had to call three times to request a replacement they kept giving me the run-around and telling me I had to fill out a form that they would send me (but never did). I finally received a remote and then they charged me $15 even though they initially said they would waive that fee when I pointed out that I had been a customer for nine years.Last month they increased our bill by $100. I called to ask if they had any promotions they could apply and they said no. I chatted a few days later to check again, but they said their costs had increased and there was nothing they could do. So we switched to another provider. So far, so good. When I called to disconnect RCN after our new service was activated, they told me they cant disconnect my account for ten days and that I would be charged until the account was disconnected. This is, of course, unreasonable, so I did a quick calculation of what I expected to owe based on the actual disconnect date and paid that amount. Today I received a final bill from RCN showing a lower amount due for the final bill, so apparently they did not wind up charging for the ten days as they said they would. I chatted and requested a refund of my overpayment, but they said they cant issue a refund unless the amount is over $100. Who ever heard of a company that wont refund an overpayment? This company is horrible!To anyone who is considering using RCN as their provider please keep in mind that they absolutely do not make customer service a priority.

      I contacted this company today as my monthly bill suddenly went up by $10 for no apparent reason, just to learn that they sent an advise in the last page of previous month bill alerting that price would increase. I expressed my disappointment, thanked the operator politely, and ended the chat. 5 minutes later my internet connection went down. What a COINCIDENCE. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

      I talked to Astound Broadband Corporate September 20th 2023 about all the problems I have had for 8 months with our cable 39 service calls 9 different techs. I talked to a lady from corporate name ***** *********, told her what was going on she had another lady call me named ***** She read all the notes and ask me what can we do to make you happy. So we worked out a deal where I would only pay $155.13 per month for 2 years. I agreed to that. The last 3 months I have received a bill for $ ****** per month.When I call the help line they tell me there is nothing they can do . The help line people tells me they can't get ahold of corporate, but they have in the past. They have broken a verbal contract. I want them to hold up to the agreement we had made

      **************** is incompetent and cant properly answer basic question, feels like talking to a bad AI system. ****** in getting to customer support are a minimum of 30 minutes for internet chat and phone alike. No transparency prior to increased charges as well.

      I have a problem with returning equipment. I had the cable (TV) service for a few months. It was to much $ for me, so I cancelled. I had 2 digital convertor boxes, which I promptly returned to them. They credited me for only returning one and put an equipment charge on my bill.I have spent 2 months calling in to customer service and trying to get this resolved. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do because they are waiting for the warehouse to resolve. I have ask to speak to supervisors and they tell me the same thing. Still not resolved.

      ************ that doesn't even pretend to be interested in customer satisfaction. Salesman came to my door and offered one month free trial service, equipment included. I still have their written work order showing FREE Wi-Fi and FREE 1 month internet. My family tried it for over a week but the connection speed would drop to almost nothing and the 5G cell signal could not be received by any wireless device in my house. 12 days after installation I sent an email to the salesman telling him I was not going to keep the service. No response. 6 days later after Googling and calling Astound numbers I found that I could drop the equipment at ***** without getting an RMA, so that is what I did. I still have the ***** tracking info. Their phone **** were not very helpful ****** all their equipment was on its way back to them 18 days after installation and I made it clear to their *** on the phone that I was done with Astound.Also filled in their "sorry to see you go" survey and told them exactly why I didn't like the service and I told them don't bother sending a bill for the free trial *********** I receive a bill in the mail telling me that I need to return any unreturned equipment and if I don't pay the bill within 15 days I may be referred to a collection agency.*DO NOT EVER CONSIDER USING ASTOUND*I would have left a zero star rating but this review tool forces me to give them at least one.

      My experience matches the types of deceptive bait-and-switch tactics described elsewhere in these reviews. Astound attracts customers with a short-term "teaser" rate, then has a massive price increase as soon as the initial period is over. Moreover, the timing of price increases is not made clear to customers. For example, I just read in the fine print of my latest bill that my monthly price would increase "soon." I am not exaggerating. There is literally no date listed, and the text (in fine print on Page 4) merely says "As a courtesy, we want to let you know that your current promotion is ending soon." This is not only my latest bill, but also my *last* bill, since I'm canceling my ********** addition, Astound hides its true costs through a junk fee that they call the "Network Access and Maintenance Fee." This fee is deceptively listed under a category called "TAXES, ******************* but the fine print makes it clear that these are not government taxes or required federal, state, or municipal costs. Astound also randomly increases this fee with little to no explanation other than a vague note hidden, which true to form is written in fine print on page 4 of the monthly bill. I generally place little trust or respect in internet service providers, but Astound's deception represents a new low. Good riddance.

      We are beyond frustrated. It is too bad one star is the lowest rating available. For the past month, we have been dealing with Astound Broadband regarding intermittent service with our internet/tv. In one month, we have had 4 techs out, and made over a dozen phone calls. ***** did all they could, and nothing solved the problem. They all suspect there is a problem at the street or with the system and we were told of two work orders submitted locally. We continue to have internet problems, even after repeated promises that someone would reach out to us. Today was a tipping point when we were disconnected for over an hour and we were told AGAIN that the previous work order had been submitted locally and that we would hear from them. After explaining we have been hearing this for weeks, they acknowledged they were unable to provide any additional help. We are stuck with the ***** number and have no recourse to find out why no one is reaching out to us and why there have been no updates on solving this problem. What is truly telling about Astound Broadband is the lack of true customer service. One would think that if a customer has had four tech visits and made a dozen phone calls to customer service for over one month, this would be flagged and trigger SOME type of action from the company. Astound Broadbands states on their website, Weve made a pledge to our customers to put them first in everything we do. We are dedicated to going the extra mile to ensure our customers experiences are ************************* every time." Anyone can write up a pledge, but unless it is honored, it is worthless. This pledge is worthless.

PS We're still having issues and no contact from Asound. We've been advised to schedule yet another tech visit to escalate the problem. In the past, we were told our issue had been escalated several times without any change in contact from Astound or improved service.

      An actually horrific experience with this company. 1. Took THREE tries to cancel our trial service two years ago after being redirected to 6 people each time saying they couldn't help. 2. We did everything that we were supposed to do when canceling, including returning all of the equipment WITH tracking number. Tracking number confirmed arrival of the equipment at their facility. ONE YEAR later, I get a collections notice for the equipment and three additional months of service. Not A SINGLE COMMUNICATION FROM ASTOUND DURING THAT YEAR. So my assumption was fraudulent charges. I called, couldn't get answers but paid it because I needed this off my credit. 3. ANOTHER YEAR LATER and I just got another collections letter for missing equipment and a months worth of service. again ZERO communication from Astound in the past year. Literally nothing makes sense with this company. I can't even believe this company anymore. Literally RUN in the other direction if this company comes across your doorstep or you are thinking about it. Plus the actual internet sucked.
