Do Not Trust Astound/Grande They dont honor their own instructions. I discontinued my service with them because their service cost was becoming outrageous. I was given instructions by an email on how to return the equipment, which I followed. I delivered the equipment to their equipment return collection box at their main office in **** on **************. Only to discover that they dont honor their own policies and I was billed for the equipment anyway. And then they didnt inform me but I found out from a collection agency.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

They are the WORST COMPANY EVER. Charging me ****** a month for just internet. They were supposed to come uninstall the wiring in NOVEMBER 2022 and take the modem and WI-FI box but never showed up. Then I get a bill in JUNE of 2023 for the equipment ******. I think they were hoping I got rid of it. Thankfully I didnt but I dont have a car to drop it off.. they said thats MY PROBLEM and they dont send people out to uninstall so now I have bulky wiring around my house and no way to drop off the equipment. NOBODY SHOULD USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND SO IS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE I would give ZERO STARS IF I COULDAstound Broadband powered by RCN

Customers are responsible for returning equipment at the time of disconnection, and we offer a few different options for doing so. Worst internet provider, I have ever had. They bought out WOWWAY and I was forced to use their services, they did not tell me anything and started charging me for the **** whole home router which I had for free previously with WOWWAY. then when I wanted to switch to a different router they told me I HAD to have a tech come install it and set it up. The tech called me at 10am which was the appointment that he didnt have the router and would come at 4pm instead. he came at 4pm and unboxed the router, and plugged in the power cable and ethernet cable and then Left. He left me with the setup of the device. Mind I stayed home and lost wages for the day due to the tech visit where I had to set it up anyways. They did not provide any support when I asked about this. they simply said they would take $10 off my bill but provided me a price that was higher then the price I was paying. They falsely advertise 1.2gbps internet when I asked for it they said it was only available for new customers, then said they could upgrade me to it then said they were not able too. throughout the time Ive had Astound they never failed to leave me ASTOUND of how much worse their service and customer service could get. If I had a choice to I would leave 0 stars!Review fromNick D

The worst. Beware of the hidden ridiculous fees. I've had this service for a long time set up on auto pay. Never had an issue. One month, my card that was on autopay was near it's limit and payment declined. The only time this has happened on my account. I received an email alerting me that this payment was declined so I went on and made payment, not a late payment, it was paid on time, BUT Astound say's too bad, you're charged an extra $30 admin fee (like they did anything) because your payment was declined, even though payment was made on time. I called assuming they'd for sure remove this ridiculous fee. Not a chance. They don't care. Look for another provider.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

I was looking for cheap internet, and I came across Astound Broadband by RCN, they had a promo called MA FREE, and the deal was very good, it had a two year deal for $35 a month, with the first month free, modem free of rental for the two years, and free installation, which was a savings of $79, and I wanted to keep my landline for my home phone. The total charge per month was $46.33, I thought I did pretty well, but on installation day the Tech had no setup for the landline, so that was the first problem, I call customer service, and this was the second problem, I went to chat first, and no one could help me, then to the phone, and still no help, on to a supervisor, and still no help, and then onto her supervisor with no help! In the mean time they dropped my calls six times, and of course when I called back I had to go through everything from a new. The best they were going to offer me was a landline with a installation of $79, and a monthly bill of $70 for my internet, and phone, no thank you!! I'm still battling, but I've given up on the landline, and still working on my original price for the internet.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Worst company I have ever had to deal with. They were supposed to come out today to hook up service. Nobody showed up. So they have rescheduled me for next Friday. I work from home so not sure how thats going to happen with no WiFiAstound Broadband powered by RCN

Same problem as ********* R - I was given a new modem that stores recordings in the cloud. I get video loading interruptions frequently - and it's totally intolerable! I will cancel Astound cable if this keeps up. I'll go with Hulu, etc. instead, and maybe save money. I am paying $300+ bucks a month, which is blatant highway robbery. Maybe this intolerable service is doing me a favor by making me get rid of this lousy service. I have to give them a star to post, otherwise, they'd get zero stars.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Astound is the worst ISP I've ever had my whole life. My internet speeds 12 years ago in college were infinitely better than what I get right now. Not to mention service goes out all the time, currently out right now at 10:45 AM in *************** Their customer service team is awful, I have been hung up on while on hold for 15 minutes + . I scheduled a technician to come out ** of the poor service (My 16 year old cousin knows more than he does) Technician did nothing and they slapped a $80 charge on my account. I just ran a speedtest and my phone hotspot has faster speeds.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

We loved WOW and the RCN takeover was fine until our WOW modem died in February. RCN came out right away (Feb 28) and replaced the modem but we never got above 100MB speed (on an 800 MB plan). They replaced the line in the backyard (over the grass, not buried) but still didn't hit 100 and were told someone had to "fix it outside". NO ONE EVER CAME. Called March 14 - was told they had no record of more work being needed and someone would call me. NO ONE EVER DID. Called 3/29 - was told another technician would have to come out - he said the same as the first guy, couldn't fix it, so someone else would be out. NO ONE EVER CAME. Meanwhile, we still have a cable running through our backyard and now mowing season is starting. Called 4/7 - put in a ticket. NO ONE CAME. Called 4/12 - put in a ticket. NO ONE CAME. Called 4/17 - said the crew would call me about the cable that week. NO ONE CALLED. Called 4/20 - sent a THIRD technician out who was the SAME GUY that was here in February and asked "did something else go wrong"? I told him no one ever fixed the original problem! So 2+ hours later and lots of phone support with his supervisor, they FINALLY were able to get our speeds up. I guess no one needed to do work outside after all! But we STILL have a cable lying in our grass in the backyard. On 4/20 I was told it was going to be buried on 4/22. Today is 4/25 and NO ONE HAS COME TO BURY THE LINE. I asked for a credit for the 9 weeks we were getting 90MBs instead of 800 and got $30 off our bill. This is ridiculous.Astound Broadband powered by RCN
