      Astound pulled a bait and switch on me. I entered an order for internet on their website including a coupon code. And then an agent reached out to me by phone. There was some confusion because they were saying they were reaching out because I had started an online order but not finished it. I told them that I had done an online order, and they then told me they could get my installation appointment setup and that the online coupon code would be honored. Well, turns out, they cancelled my online order and made a new one not including the coupon code. I chatted with Astound support and they said there was nothing they could do. Cancelling my service right away and sticking with my current internet provider. Not happy!

      Since taking over for WOW they r not the same. I can't order *** Network because I would have to change all the codes that I had with WOW. But I never had Internet service with WOW Time to change cable suppliers after I have been with WOW all these years.

      I was with RCN for several years. The cost for internet and cable was outrageous, so I canceled cable kept internet. Cable and internet were a little over ******. My bill for the last 5 years for just internet was between $160 and $171. For "internet" only????? Beginning of November I called ******** Internet would be $45.00 a month for 3 years. I canceled RCN. Got a call from RCN, why did I cancel. She was shocked that I was charged that amount and asked if anyone contacted me. NO they did not. Take a look at what Rcn is offering now for internet. I am owed all that money back. I feel like I have been high jacked. Shame on rcn robbing people.

      This company is TOTAL PIECE OF S*** I have been STUCK with them for almost 30 YEARS. They have a MONOPOLY in my area of *******. The only thing that has changed is they changed the name and increased the price. This 2 WEEKS IN A ROW THAT ALL SERVICE WAS OUT. THIS PIECE OF S*** COMPANY NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. The BBB will NOT give them a rating!!!

      Been a customer for close to 40 years with a change in service provider for 3 years 14 years ago. Due to an arrangement with our township RCN (now Astound Broadband) was out only choice other than DirectTV. Since returning to RCN/Astound Broadband 11 years ago out internet and cable service was constantly having issues. Technicians have been at our house over 20 times to get our internet/cable working. These visits were only band aids and RCN could never figure out issues. On Oct 27 out internet went out and we were unable to reset it ourselves or calling in twice to Astound. They were unable to get a technician out to our house for four days. In the era of so many things connected to the internet the service provided by astound is poor. It is poor because there is no competition allowed in the area. We could care less about the cable tv but so much of our life needs internet connection, having to wait four days for a technician to come out is ridiculous. I was not able to work from for my job, my security system was not connected, nor my lights and other things connected for smart home access. I cancelled my service and was told it would be $79 to return the equipment of I could take to ****** Astound provided a return label but I had to pay to pack the equipment and a ***** box.

      Billing is EXTREMELY predatory. I would never go with these people. They're awful and then they have customer support folks who shout you down.

      This company has terrible service. The internet keeps dropp***. The phone tree is terrible. They must read from a script. Unplug it. Power it off. Its all the same BS. I feel real bad for the people who work at this company. Everyone needs a job, and there stuck listen*** to our F *** complaints. **************** knows this company is a ?? hole to work for. Do your self a favor and go to xfinity or ******** Youll thank your self later trust me. Ever since I went to a real cable company like xfinity my Afib has stopped. Im so relieved. I can finally do my work at home with out dropp*** internet. I had to unplug and power on 67 times in a month. That is so abnormal. Im go*** to help millions of people out here. Please do not use this company for your internet. Think of your health and well be*** at night. Its not worth the headaches and chest pain over this company.

      Astound / RCN has the worst customer service and technical support you'll find. Avoid at all costs. My mother was a customer for many years ********************* TV and internet) and I switched her to ******* 5G internet and live streaming TV. Much cheaper and faster. Want to know how bad their customer service is? Well here you go:We received new equipment (modem/router and cable boxes) in the mail. We were never informed that a technician was supposed to come out and swap the equipment ourselves by 10/31 or the internet would cease to work. I had to call and figure this, as the equipment came with no instructions on that matter.I scheduled service for 10/13 and were informed someone would come out anywhere from 8AM-8PM. I took the day off and they never showed up or called. When I called them later that day, I was told it was "never scheduled" and "not entered in correctly". Their words, not mine. They dropped the ball and told me the earliest appointment they had was apparently 10/25; six days before the cut off. A few days later (`10/16), the internet went down completely without notice. No explanation for RCN as to why. I called them explaining the situation and was promised someone would call back in an hour to schedule something sooner than the 25th. I called back 2 hours later after getting no call, and was told again we'd have to wait until the 10/25. Their customer service is so bad that each person you talk with promises something different. False promises, of course.The whole house was without internet and cable TV for 10 days and the attitude from RCN was "too bad". When I asked to speak to a supervisor they claimed "there was to one to talk to". When I asked for more to be done they said "nothing can be done".When I asked for them to simply reimburse my mother's entire bill for the month ($167) for our troubles they refused. They gave me the complete runaround and so I cancelled all internet and TV service on 10/24 and went with a new provider.

      Collusive practices, price gouging and inflating monthly bills are the main characters in the story involving RCN. I have filed both FCC and *** complaints against this company. I filed a complaint againt RCN some years ago. With BBB's intervention the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. Well, the company is once again commiting fraud with inflated monthly bills. According to residents RCN also has some type of agreement with the landlord and/or owner of these buildings preventing other companies from providing internet and cable to residents. Illegal collusion!!I want the feds. to close down Astound Broadband powered by RCN - period!!!Residents are circulating a petition for the *** if need be.. We need options to provide high speed internet for work, school and play needs. My mom is a virtual teacher who visits and needs good internet to teach. We do not need to be taken advantage of however!Anyway, see my examples below (with my comments in parentheses).Total Amount Due: 07/22/2022 $80.43 Bundled Services ***** (I only have internet so customer service says this includes the router and modem fees. So, I am paying twice for one piece of equipment!!). High Speed Internet ***** (this is part of the bundling, So, I am paying twice for this data speed which sometimes goes out or slows down)One-Time Charges **** (I am paying each month for a one-time charge - LOL)Taxes, ***************** ***** Total Current Charges ***** Total Current Charges - Due 10/22/23 $117.02 Bundled Services ***** (I only have internet so customer service says this includes the router and modem fees.       Mandatory upgrade forcing you to get internet along with cable. Apparently there is no way around it. I am not interested in their internet. So I am being forced to take and the upgrade so my TV continues to work after Nov. 30, 2023, or being forced to cancel my cable service all together. Not good business. I will be cancelling my account.
