      1 star because there is no 0 star option. This is one of the top 3 worst companies I have ever dealt with in my life. They trap you with year-long autorenewal clauses, do not notify you of price increases before they happen (they say it's on a November or December bill but I haven't found where). They increase the prices for the same services by $20-$30 per year. Occasionally they randomly add extra charges for items already included in the monthly fees and if you don't catch them, they will just keep doing it. They have "withdrawal" fees AND "retrieval" fees AND "handling" fees for each cubic foot of an item. They send you overdue notices of nonpayment when there are credits on your account to cover the amounts due because their systems must be trash. Their pricing is not available on their website, on their management system portal, or on any invoice. When we requested a pricing schedule it took them a week to send it to us.We are now trying to cancel, and they told us it would take 2-3 business days for a cost estimate to cancel; it took over a week. Then it took another week for them to generate the invoice for the quote. Then although we paid it immediately, we got harassing emails from 2 different **** and a phone call demanding payment. Then we were told it would take 2-3 business days for the payment to show up in their system and then they would start processing the closure. They also want to charge us for the rest of the year for services we don't want or use because of their auto-renewal clause, and also want over $600 just to destroy 10 boxes and return 15 more. They literally hold your documents for ******, obscure their pricing, and constantly overcharge. Their customer service is appallingly incompetent and no issue is resolved with fewer than 3 calls or emails. For closure, it has been tens of calls and emails.

      We are a big company and dealt with them for almost 24yrs. It took months for us to get rid of them. This company is a monster. They use foreign workers for their customer service. Cheap labour but they charged their customer humongous amount of money. I dealt with one of the executive escalations/customer advocacy (Not really customer advocacy). It didn't go well. I ended up yelling at this person because she doesn't understand my point. Very poor accounting. I love when she said she's been doing it for 10yrs of service. Yes, bad service. I strongly recommend to use small company or other business rather than them. DO your research as well. You will not be happy dealing with them. They are monster. Our monthly charges from them was $600 to $800. Every month it changes because they put extra charges. Our new shredding service right now, we only pay $230.Do not have them store your files as they will charge you big time. Protect yourself from this monster! Protect your piece.

      This company put me and a lot of fellow coworkers in such a financial bind. We were told for months that we had enough work to last us at least 2 years. This was a complete lie. The manager knew for 2 months that we were going to lose our jobs and did not tell us until 4 (business) days before our last day. Her excuse was that she wanted the regional manager to tell us. They only gave us 1 extra paycheck and the manager and supervisor wrote us generic letters of recommendation for our next job. We qualified for unemployment but that was not enough to cover our bills. I would not recommend working for this company. They are unorganized and they only care about the big wigs! As strict as they were, they owe us a big severance! Ill never work for them again!

      I too have had to deal with their poor accounting issues that started in 2023. They have not credited my payments numerous times which culminated in them threatening me with document shredding if my invoice was not paid again after giving them Proof of Payment twice. They also have their business account at Chase, which is the same bank I used to pay them, and ***** verified they were paid 26 days before the due date for my April invoice. I recently sent them Proof of Payment the 2nd time and was waiting to hear back from them when they simply sent me a termination notice threatening document shredding, referral to a credit agency, and even legal action. This is incredible to say the least. They have not offered to resolve the matter in a professional manner or even using common sense, like showing my payment history and I doubt they contacted ***** bank to verify payments from my business. Instead, they escalated it. I am now considering legal action since I have now paid that same invoice twice just to make sure they don't shred my documents that I have entrusted them with. The complaints on here seem to stem from accounting errors at the company, how can anyone trust documents with this company if they can't keep track of simple payments? This company should be avoided and I am in the process of terminating my account.

      I submitted an order request which I paid for on 6/26/24. As of today, 7/10/24, I still have not received my shred barrel. I have called customer service twice and emailed ********************** twice. They have the worst customer service I have experience, and having run a customer service in my career, I understand the nuances to getting customers request resolved so I have a little forgiveness but this has been very frustrating. Also, I placed an order 2 months ago and never received that order either. which I paid for and never was credited the funds nor given the barrel.

      This is the worst shredding company I have ever worked with. They have rescheduled our order 3 times. They've lied and said they tried to deliver when we were closed (but we were not closed) and the emails about rescheduling are sent after the time frame when they said they would come.

      I just received a bill to shred one bin and it was ******. It started out at 188 and it goes up and up and up. Also we are now supposed to pay a monthly fee to keep the service. Its crazy.On Call Offsite shred 65 Gal ****** Shred Transportation on Call ****** Shred Transportation Zone 2 ***** Fuel Surcharge ***** Paper Recycling surcharge ***** This is for one bin - off site shredding that we have them do maybe 4 or 5 times a year. Plus another monthly charge of ***** for account administration.

      Iron Mountain records shredding and storage is a scam. I requested 10 cartons in storage be delivered to the office. They charged me $1000.00 plus fuel fee. Then the next month they charged me storage for the same boxes. When I called, they told me I did not **** "permanent withdrawal" when I did the order. (you have to complete all services yourself on their website). So I sat there on the phone with the person for 20 minutes for her to click the status from checked out to permanently withdrawn. When I got my bill, they has charged me $578.00 to sit on the phone with them!They charged me $450.00 , after fees, a month for secure shredding! A service that other companies charge $60.00 per month. I requested destruction of around 200 boxes. They charged me $3258.29. THEN added: $3762.41 for Handling Fee; $1853.57 for Retrieval Fee; $162.95 Transportation Fee; $612.36 Fuel Surcharge. for a TOTAL of $9649.68. NEVER do business with these scammers.

      We have been a multi year customer with multiple locations. Although we knew we were paying a premium to shred, we appreciated the service. After several years of service, we decided that it was in our best interest to purchase our own shredder to save money. We originally tried to cancel the service last September but figured out several months later that they had not processed the cancellation because my manager "wasn't on the account". So after multiple calls we figure out what happened and continue with cancellation. We just received an invoice for $1,007.65 for service charges in connection with them PICKING UP THEIR CONTAINERS. There were additional charges for what was shredded. When i called to discuss with customer service there was a huge language barrier and the lady kept telling me we owed it for picking up the boxes. When i asked to speak with a manager, she simply hung up on me. This is horrible business and I hope others are aware that they will try to take advantage of you when cancelling service.

      Horrible company! Service has been terrible since day 1! There has not been one time at any of our locations where they have not forgotten to pick up a bin - that is if they actually show up when they are supposed to.Most recently we have placed some large orders due to a purge we are conducting prior to a remodel. We have placed orders for the pick up of skids with boxes for shredding along with the pick up of 16 full 95 gallon bins - none of which has been picked up after being promised a pick up on 3 different occasions. We asked for an additional 40 empty bins of which we only got 20. We have scheduled and rescheduled pick up and drop off times and dates and have placed the same orders in hopes of getting some type of response. We have decided to close our account and will not be paying any of the fictitious fuel charges they are adding to our bills.Stay away from this company - there is a reason they are not BBB Accredited.
