This was my fifth cross country move and by far the worst. We spent months packing and labeling boxes. We have always had the largest truck to ourselves. This time, they showed up with 2 other loads already on the truck. We were moving from a **** sqft home to a **** sqft home. Needless to say our stuff didnt fit. They oversold. So they added this huge crate to the back. When we got to our new location about 4 days later, and they unloaded.. our boxes that we worked so hard to pack, had been opened and the items thrown in together. If you could see the pics! I opened a wardrobe box and found an outside piece of filthy furniture shoved in with my wedding gown and dress shoes. Majority of our boxes were like this. Damaged furniture which the claims **** at least fixed and a missing ladder. For 20k, it would have been easier to rent a uhaul and just throw our items in it instead of months packing. The only pro was the guys that did the physical labor were very nice.Review fromJennifer L

Allied has been awful! They did not pick up our stuff on the contracted pick up day and did not communicate they were not coming. Zero communication. Now we are still waiting on our stuff and just found out it hasnt even left the warehouse of origin. The delivery will be late. Again, non of this was communicated to me. I had to call multiple times to get this information. BE AWARE! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are very sorry that the claimant experienced a delay in the delivery of their household goods. It is never the intention of the carrier to cause such a delay and for that we do apologize. It appears the shipment has actually delivered now, one day later than the last agreed upon date. We are truly sorry the delay was not communicated to the claimant prior to her having to check on the delivery.Review fromStephanie W

Where to start? The man I met to go over our household items was great, but completely missed writing down my two large $1500 mirrors - both of which the packers didn't want to crate. One arrived completely destroyed. Besides the random broken things, they also stole a handbag of mine right out of a tote. As soon as I realized it was gone, I called the driver on his personal cell phone number and he said, "Oh yeah, the tote with all the handbags! I passed them on to the packers (Coleman) for them to pack. Allied/Coleman are refusing to acknowledge this was stolen by someone they hired and are denying reimbursement. Said I needed to "file a police report".... If I could do it again, I would have moved myself. There's nothing worse than feeling like you've been stolen from and taken advantage of. Our move cost us $16,000. Don't hire Allied (ESPECIALLY COLEMAN). My attorney is going to take over from here.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are very sorry the claimant had issues and damage to report from her relocation. The claimant was paid for the damaged items and the claim has been resolved. The delivery paperwork was signed by the claimant as all items received and with nothing documented regarding alleged missing the carrier is not liable. If the claimant feels anything was stolen then yes, they need to contact the police as this would be a theft situation.Review fromRichard L

I used Allied ****** ( aka *****, NAVL, AVL ) for my interstate move from Scotts*** AZ ( p/u on 8.23.22 ) to ******* with a delivery between 9.6 - 9.8.22. I paid almost $ ******. for my move. It was delayed for 8 days; no reason why. I had booked my move 8 weeks in advance; this was more than enough time to schedule a crew for my delivery. I filed a delayed shipment claim ( for daily items I needed, food etc ) $ ****** - denied. My wife and I had to sleep on the floor which was uncomfortable for me. I am 67 years old and have back problems. This was a ( 5) crated shipment. I had missing / damaged items that Allied cannot account for and our tracing results were unsuccessful in confirming a loss . Allied cannot say that; I had my name, address & phone number on all boxes. So, the scanning system Allied uses is unreliable and ineffective. ******* and *** have no issues for tracking of shipment ) My high value item packed by Allied a 55 ********** was missing, wardrobe box ( with 2 leather coats, handmade sweaters ) was missing, etc. To add further insult, at delivery the driver, Mr ** *** was rude, refused to listen to me, did NOT allow inspection for items packed by myself or Allied and did not unwrap them. He said unloaded our shipment onto a truck by himself the day before delivery. That is negligence on his part and a security breach to make sure my belongings are not MISSING ( which happened ) He was non compliant with shipping procedures. My claim for items missing /damaged totaled $ ******* and Allied is only giving me $ 600. after my deductible. That is pathetic. I have moved interstate at least 6 times and NEVER once had a driver refuse to listen to me. BEWARE - Allied is an unprofessional company that takes you money, lose your items, delay shipment and not pay you for your claims. DO NOT USE ALLIED They are unreliable not to be trusted. I am disappointed, with their services and WILL NOT recommend them to anyone.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are very sorry for the difficulties that the customer has experienced on their move. Their claim for missing and damaged items has been sent to the senior review adjuster. The customer was advised that the review will take approximately 60 days to complete.Regarding the claim for delayed delivery, the address on the customer's Bill of Lading is for a public storage facility. Delay compensation is only paid on shipments that are destined for a residence. The customer was sent the following email asking to confirm where the items were actually delivered.: 12/02/22 02:01:31 PM "Our records show your mailing address is: **********************************************************. I show in our system an address of ********************************************* was this changed before your things delivered. Please advise if this information is incorrect so that I can update your claim."The customer did not respond to advise if their delivery had been changed from the warehouse facility to a residence. If the customer could please confirm when their delivery address was available we can review their delay claim.Richard L

1. I am rejecting this response . No where in our paperwork did it say I will not receive payment for a delayed shipment claim to storage - Allied cannot say that. Allied delayed my delivery. My ****** / Allied District Manager in Phoenix, ************* told me to file a claim for 8 days delayed shipment. Allied wont pay my claim of $ ****** for my daily items needed to live - air mattress, pillows, blanket, food, utensils, etc My residence was not ready because Allied delayed my delivery / spread times. If I knew Allied was unreliable and not honor my delivery times, I would not have booked with them. NOTE: There were other reputable companies for comparable money & with delivery times for 9.15.22 ( low season ). This caused inconvenience, lost, damaged items for me - but Allied received more money from me and I had unreliable service. 2. Allied had our delivery address when we booked our move and it never changed. 3. Allied uses these reasons to discredit the customer and not pay for legitimate claims. Their apologies are not acceptable because a reputable, reliable company would not treat customers this way. BE CAREFUL - Read other complaints about Allied / ****** ( aka United, North American, Sirva, BGRS ) and use someone else to avoid these issues.Review fromJesse P

Please learn from the terrible experiences of so many others and dont use this mover. ****** Allied from ****** moved us. Dozens of large items broken, boxes missing and lost. The driver reluctantly agreed to mail back a box he found. It took almost three months to arrive, *** destroyed and clearly gone through. Items from a second missing box were also in the one mailed, meaning our missing boxes were gone through. The mechanism for making a claim is purposefully onerous and meant to allow allied to give you a minimal amount. They did about ***** in damage and lost items (broke our sleep number bed, three tables, etc) and weve just entirely given up ever seeing a dime. Allied are scam artists please save yourself the heartache and violation we felt and use any other mover you can.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are sorry for the damages which have occurred, and that the customer feels that the claims process is onerous. Their claim was just received on January 3; on January 6 the following email was sent to the ***********/**/*********** AMFrom: ***** ****** Sent: Friday, January 6, 2023 11:54 AM To: '**********@gmail.com' [************@gmail.com] Cc: ****** ****** Subject: RE: your claim ****** Dear ***** and ******* ******** Your Statement of Claim form has been received into our office for consideration. The **************** a local restoration service will be in contact with you within the next 5 business days to schedule the appointment. Once the evaluation has been complete ****** ******, your adjuster in copy will advise you of our findings. During this time please do not dispose of or attempt to repair any items, as this would void the specific item from your claim. A trace is also in process for the claimed missing. Our records indicate your address is ******* **** ****, ****** ** . Please notify ****** if this information is incorrect. Should you have any further questions during the claim processing, please contact ****** directly. ******* ****** Team Lead Claim Services"Their claim form makes no mention of a Sleep Number bed. Their claim is in process, and although by law a claim must be acknowledged within 30 days of receipt, the customer was contacted 3 days after receipt. To date their total claim is for $324, plus unspecified amounts for missing furniture hardware. The driver, upon discovering undelivered cartons in their truck, would have opened the cartons to confirm the contents before returning the items to the customer. We are very sorry for the inconvenience of the carton not being delivered along with the entire shipment on the day of delivery. The assigned repair service will contact the customer to schedule an appointment to determine what steps need to be taken to complete the claim. If the customer does have questions regarding the claims process, he may contact his claims adjuster at the information provided in the introductory email.Review fromJAZZMIN T

In July 2019 Allied Van Lines - ******************** was hired to pack and move our home across country. After unpacking, many items were missing and never recovered. These items were packed and pulled out from boxes. I noticed when they were packing they had a short hand labeling system on the boxes. Seems like they were tagging boxes they wanted to reopen and steal items from. We had a bike, skateboards, shoes, small electronics and jewelry stolen. They also damaged some property by using their cheap brown tape directly on the surface of some of our property.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are not finding a claim filed for this customer. If they could provide us with a registration number we will research their concerns. Unfortunately, if they have not yet filed a claim for damaged or missing items, and their move took place in 2019, we cannot assist them with a claim. All claims must be filed within 9 months of the delivery date.Review fromHelen I

This is an example of Allied Mover's level of excellence! I will need to repack every box so critters do not make their home in my stuff. Insurance covers nothing. Boxes destroyed, clothes ruined, furniture broken, boxes unsealed, pieces missing and much more. Disgusting!Allied Van Lines, Inc.

Ref. #******. Move from ********** to ****** area. Our goods have still not arrived. They were schedule to arrive on 3/31/22. We were then told that driver would not even pick up goods in ********** until 11/9/22 but delivery would be on 11/11/22. Next we were told that ******'s truck broke down in **********, On 11/11/22 we received call stating that we needed to arrange payment that day unless we had a cashier's check ready by 8:00 am on Monday when the goods would be delivered. We arranged for a cashier's check at some cost to us. Then on 11/13/22 we received a call saying that the driver's truck was broken down in Reno and earliest delivery would be Wednesday. Needless to say, we have incurred costs from the lack of delivery of all of goods.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience of the delay. The customer had a spread of dates for delivery from October 31 (not March 31) through November 10. The mechanical breakdown was of course not anticipated and could not have been foreseen. If the customer's items are destined for a residence (as opposed to a storage facility), they will receive $100.00 per day for each day delayed past the 10th of November. I will send a delay claim form to the customer's email address above. The customer has 9 months after their delivery date to file the claim. Again, we apologize for the delay.susan c.

It is more than two weeks later and still no delivery. Truck broke down twice and is now left on *******/**** border as overweight while driver unloads someone else's items from truck and rents UHaul to take those items to Salt ************************ and others at ******************** are sympathetic but apparently powerless to do anything. They did request a new driver last week from Operations, which appears to control everything, but it was Thanksgiving week.Review fromDennis S

Ref reg #****** Late pickup of our goods on 2 May only after I called to find status of packing team. **************************************** her home town for 14 days. 28 May goods delivered in the evening after three reports of earlier projected arrival times. Delivery was 9 days outside delivery window. Allied is extremely good at covering their own failures with fine print in the contract. This resulted in $900 compensation for their disastrous performance on this move. Their customer support and service when a problem occurs is non-existent. Having moved 8 times while in the military I have seen many moving companies and experienced some problems, but nothing compares to this. They are by far the worst for a host of reasons. I actually had an overseas move that was completed in less time than it took for this small load from ******** to *******. Avoid Allied or hope you have no problems.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

We are very sorry for the delay in delivery of the claimant's household goods. We do realize the inconvenience this causes and this is never the intent of the carrier to inconvenience our customers. It is also never convenient for a driver to breakdown no matter where they are located at the time of breakdown as this causes a loss in revenue for them as well. The contract is specific in the amounts that are reimbursed due to a delay. The carrier provides a per diem per day based on the weight of the shipment. Stress and anxiety are not considered in any compensation. Again, we are truly sorry for the delay and the inconvenience this caused the claimant.Review fromCassandra F.

Our movers showed up several hours late, delaying a ten hour drive for us. What should have been a 7-8pm arrival time has now turned into 1-2am, and we still have several hours to drive tomorrow. We also have a cat in the car with us, cant access our apartment with him because of the moving activity, and we live in a state with hot weather, we have to incur gas expenses to keep our cat cool and comfortable while we just sit here waiting to leave. We were kept up-to-date on the issue, and if that had been it, we mightve been able to let it go. Unfortunately, when the movers finally arrived, they did not have the materials we had paid for, despite the fact that it was confirmed with us that the movers would have those materials. We are now waiting even longer for the materials to show up. We hired this company because its well-known, has been in business for a long time, and had several positive professional reviews. We now believe weve made a grave mistake. Thousands of dollars down the toilet, given to a company that has no business being this wildly unprofessional given its size and resources. We are now extremely nervous that our delivery will be delayed, our quote may be off, or there will be some other wildly unprofessional problem to deal with as we have lost the trust we put in this company. Thanks to the customer service agents whove been very understanding with us, but we are extremely upset and will not be hiring this company again.Allied Van Lines, Inc.

Unfortunately we are unable to research without a move registration number as the name provided does not pull up in our system. We are truly if we have caused frustration and inconvenience to any of our customers. Please keep in touch with customer service agents as they will assist as best as they can.Cassandra F.

I am currently on the road and cant retrieve the moving number, but you can find our file by searching my husbands name, *************************. The address we moved from was **********************************************************************. We intend to file a claim for the hotel and gas costs incurred as a consequence of the massive delay. I will say the people who showed up to move us were very good, and we appreciate them.
