In November 2023, we used Shred-It to drop-off 8 bins and then pick them back up at a later date. First, Shred-It got the dates wrong, and it was a mess trying to reschedule. Then, Shred-It invoiced us for 28 bins instead of 8. After I called customer service to dispute the invoice, a few days later Shred-It auto-drafted our credit card for the erroneous invoice. So, Shred-it owes us nearly $1,700.00. It has been 3 months since the erroneous auto-draft was made and we are still trying to recover our money. I have called **************** multiple times who say the credit is in the hands of the accounting department based in *******, but they will not provide any contact info for the accounting department. **************** also told me that it could take up to 2 billing cycles (or 8 weeks) to process. However, it has been 12 weeks and we have received no communication or credit.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

I experienced significant frustration and inconvenience due to the poor management and communication of this company. Despite my request for expedited service and promises of callbacks, I was repeatedly let down with no follow-up. Even after specifying a date that wouldn't work for me, the company's team arrived unannounced. Despite my numerous attempts to resolve the issue, including leaving multiple voicemails for my representative and expressing a desire to escalate the matter to higher management, I received no satisfactory response. Overall, the company's failure to communicate effectively, honor commitments, and address my concerns warrants a one-star rating.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

I attempted to set up an account and it was a disaster from day one. I received no communication on my pickup date, I made inquiries and dealt with people obviously outsourced that had no clue what was going on the local level. They suggested the portal which I got into only to find out after NO communication my pickup was that day! This wouldn't work since I had to have notice. I called (again the outsourced personnel) and they cancelled my delivery and said they would get it rescheduled. The driver still came confused but was turned away. I then had to make numerous inquiries again on when my next date was. That came and went. NO ONE showed up. No explanation, no follow up nothing. I have since hired a new company but in the process of telling Shred It to cancel my account and not schedule me in the future I got an email with a new date. Let's just say when they show up (if they do) they are not taking anything. I would think long and hard about utilizing their services. No communication, no local contacts, drivers are confused etc.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

Horrible. I overpayed an invoice and have been chasing them for MONTHS to have them refund the overpayment. Always an excuse. Rep admitted management deliberately withheld customer refunds. There go-to line is "a supervisor will get back to you" and - of course - no one does. This company ***** - plain and simple. I have called and emailed them countless times. If management's intent is to defraud or frustrate customers, they are doing a good job.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

I think they are terrible. I would give them no stars if that was an option. I was double billed a number of times in less than a years times. I was on a monthly pick-up which is what they did. But I was charged for 2 pick *** a month a number of times. When I finally got out of their service, they managed to stick me with around an additional $400 in billing. Trying to resolve anything with their billing department, their customer resolution department or whatever department they were trying to send me to this last time to "RESOLVE" the issue that the women in billing acknowledged they made a mistake on was a joke. She then says it will be 2 billing cycles to resolve by the next department that has to finalize the resolution. In the meantime I will be sent to collections because of the length of time the bill is open. I would STRONGLY urge any company to find their business elsewhere.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

Unfortunately, my overall experience has been marred by what I can only describe as a series of unfortunate events related to billing issues, absurd surcharges, and questionable service fees.From the beginning, it has been a challenge to decipher the invoices received, as the billing statements lack transparency and clarity. The absence of detailed explanations for charges has left me puzzled and frustrated, making it nearly impossible to understand the basis for the fees incurred. As a loyal customer, I believe it is my right to receive comprehensive and comprehensible billing information.Moreover, the inclusion of absurd surcharges and service fees has only added to my dismay. These additional charges appear to be arbitrary and lack a clear justification, leaving me questioning the fairness of your billing practices. As a customer, I expect transparency and honesty when it comes to financial transactions, and unfortunately, this has not been my experience with your company.The lack of clear and honest communication about these charges feels like a breach of trust. As a consumer, I deserve to be informed about any additional costs associated with the services I am availing. Since they changed/merged this company has gone completely downhill. Pick-************* cancelled with no notice, regularly scheduled pick up service stopped with no notice, no one ever gets back after numerous complaints/requests submitted, unauthorized charges added to our invoices, and the website is completely user un-friendly. Do not use this **********************. The time I have spent trying to get assistance and get things rectified has been more than any company administrator should have to put in.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

Horrible. Do not hire them. I called 2 weeks before New Years to schedule a shredding pickup, was told someone would be in touch with me in a few days. TWO WEEKS LATER, and after no one called me, I called them to find out when my shredding would be picked up. I was transferred to someone in ***************, who confirmed I was the person on record who had requested pick up, then proceeded to tell me that my shredding would be picked up on January 4th, ****. They also said I would get a confirmation call the day before. I got no call the day before, and when I called on the 4th to ask when they would be by, they told that I WAS NOT ON THEIR SCHEDULE! This company does not respond to email or call. It took 4 months and a threat to report them for them to answer and start the cancellation of my contract. When it was finally signed, they said it would take 2 months for it to finalize. It should have ended in October! I just received another bill and they haven't responded to anything else since I returned the signed cancellation agreement. They even threatened us with collection for not paying the November bill and have yet to come pick up their boxes. Do not do business with them!Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

This company is horrible. We have used them for years. We use them for document destruction, medical waste disposal and most recently hard drive disposal. In the past year they have not shown up for any of their pickups on the scheduled date for any of the departments. The document shred department shows up when they want to, but at least they show up. The Stericycle department finally made a pickup after a 6 month hiatus. They skipped 3 scheduled pickup dates and still billed us. I have called the company at least three times, and every time i am told they will reach out to the local office here in ******, ** and have a manager call me. I have not heard from them one time. The hard drive disposal appointment was no showed on Nov 22. I did not receive any notice of cancellation or follow up. When i called they set another apt. I gave them a window of 830am -4 pm. The driver called me 10 minutes after 5pm to say he was here. I had to turn around and come back to the office. I was not able to remove the hard drives (the person that knows how was here from 8:30-4pm) and the driver had no clue. He left without the hard drives and they still charged us full price.
