Bluehost Broke My Site After a Botched Internal Migration. I had been a customer for at least *************************************************************** to upgrade to a new internal server. I paid for the migration and hosting package. In the meantime, I stopped receiving emails from the Bluehost migration team. They said they sent them (I called customer service) but after the first few came, the rest never made it to my inbox even though I could receive emails from other Bluehost depts. I checked spam - it wasn't there. Because I couldn't get their emails, they claimed I never got back to them to confirm the migration was ok. Long story short, supposedly the migration took place but looked incorrect. So I called Bluehost (different rep every time so I had to explain the same things every time). The rep said the migration wasn't completely finalized and made changes. Said it would take 2 days to take place. My site changed to a general WordPress default theme with all photos blurry, a completely different layout, no links working, and my site had 404 errors. I was on the phone with Bluehost every day, sometimes multiple times. I did not want to lose ***** posts I created over 13 years. Every rep "guaranteed" my site would be fixed in a few hours which would pass, and then they said there was some other issue and I'd have to wait more days. This took place between 11/1/23 to mid-Dec. Migrations shouldn't take weeks to complete. Bluehost refunded me for my hosting package but refused for the $149.99 migration fee because it "technically happened" even though their techs messed it up and I lost the functionality of my site. On two separate times, reps hung up on me. Once when I wasn't satisfied with the rep's answer and pressed on, the rep hung up on me by transferring me to an automatic "Please rate this call" message. Another time on chat, I was typing my response and got an automated message saying it was taking too long and ended the chat with no warning.

I canceled my domain with Bluehost.com approximately two months before it was set to renew. I also set it to not automatically renew. I received an email from them stating that the domain would expire if i didn't renew it 15 days ago.Today, i discovered that they changed the domain back to auto-renew and charged my card. I contacted them (via chat) and was told domain registration fees are non-refundable. That's understandable if I renewed and then changed my mind; however I did not do that - THEY changed the domain back to auto-renew AFTER I set it to expire.Questionable and deceptive practices and a terrible experience. **** never use them again and I do not recommend them.

I have had an open tech support request for over a month, and now my website has gone down because of it. I've called, emailed, chatted, and tried to resolve myself using their blanket article FAQs with zero success. The only way to communicate with someone in tech support is apparently over email. Their phone and chat customer support is not able to access any accounts.... they are only able to renew your services or try and open a ticket for you to get someone else over email. There is zero way to speak with anyone in tech support in real time. I've now lost tens of thousands of dollars with a website that is now down during the holidays due to their inaction. I can't even get the phone support to close and transfer my account elsewhere because (shocker!) now that they have made the problem so bad my website is down, that means they can't access it either. They say to just "wait for an email." It has been one whole month and at least 15 different contacts with their customer support to no avail. This place is a scam.

They keep charging me monthly for a $2.49 professional email Gmail is FREE. I keep telling them I do not want or need the professional email and every month they allegedly cancel It only to find out the next month Ive been charged again. This company is a SCAM. If they do this to enough people, they make a quick extra mil. Nice try! Scam someone else.

I have used MyDomain for domain registration services for over 20 years, but the quality of service has gone down dramatically since they were acquired by Newfold Digital. This past year I renewed my domains and the additional "domain privacy" service, only to discover that for some reason they disabled my domain privacy at the beginning of the year mere weeks after I'd paid for the renewals. I did not discover this until I logged in for an unrelated issue in September. When I tried to re-enable the privacy service, I was prompted to "purchase" it again even though my current service would not expire until the end of the year. I tried to contact them and discovered that they cannot be reached by phone, email, or any other traditional method, but rather they can only be contacted via a browser-based "chat" app on their website. After reporting the issue, they did re-enable the privacy service, but failed to contact me about it as they'd promised. I ended up disabling auto-renewal on all products and services, and transferring my domains to another registrar. This week I received emails informing me that they had billed my credit card for renewal on the domain privacy services for the domains that they no longer even manage. The first time I caught it they said it would not happen again, but then sure enough this morning they did it again. Steer clear of this company! In addition to some outrageous price hikes over the past few years, they engage in shady/deceitful billing practices and you will have a very limited ability to contact them if you have a problem.

I have been an IPower customer for over a decade. My web hosting was on auto renew. Over the years, my bills have been pretty consistent with very minimal increases throughout the years. I recently reviewed my credit card statement and found that IPower hosting plan renewal had increased by $119 without warning. I have two small websites on the plan with not a lot of traffic. My total cost went from $179.40 to $298.92. I tried to call them but was put on hold, so I also hit the chat button and waited an hour for a rep. I explained my issue and told the rep that I did not receive notice that Bluehost was now owner of IPower and that there would be a substantial increase nor did I receive an invoice giving me the heads up. I was told that their marketing department did not send out the formal notice yet. So my plan renewed on 12/7/23 and I was billed on 11/21/23. I asked for a lesser plan and for them to refund the difference. They do not give refunds or could switch my plan. I took my account off of auto renew. I asked how I can cancel since they unfairly locked me into another year with them. I was just told to take my account off auto renew. No instructions on how to cancel. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the increase. Waiting for response from Bluehost/IPower. I have a domain with thema and also ****** Workspace. I am transferring both products to another provider and would really like to cancel my hosting plan now and get refunded. They are using unfair and deceptive business practices. Unbelievable! Stay away from them!!!

This business has horible customer support. We canceled our hosting plan and received no refund for our services. We called after it was discovered that we never got a refund and they state your hosting was never canceled. even after spending an hour on the phone to speak to someone and moving our entire site to another hosting provider they never canceled our plan out. They now refuse to refund our money and are still having difficulty transferring out ********** to our new provider. I would not recommend this provider to anyone it is a total waste of time and money. I can see why they are not BBB acredited because they could never hold a rating apparently

If I could give zero stars , I would. I have been trying to solve and issue with my website that was regarding the disk space being full which was preventing woocommerce to update. This is how I make a living so its imperative for this plug-in to update. I called and spoke with 4 different reps and they finally said it would be escalated to a manager. I waited 1 week for am email and the manager never addressed the disk space issue and CLOSED the ticket, even though I responded to the email, as requested by all the reps. I am absolutely shocked at the lack of organization and horrid customer service. This is my business and I have spent over $1000 with this company. I am currently looking into alternative hosting sites to switch to, which unfortunately will cost about the same. Do your research and avoid this headache of a company.

Chat rep named "*******" just disconnect the chat in the middle of the service while they could not solve the issue. I've never encountered such services from any other providers. It's waste of life in dealing with bluehost, you'll really get blue...
