Wish I could give 0 stars. Charged me for the toll fee when I never used a toll on my trip. The fee was $50 which is insane to begin with. Tried to charge my credit card 5 times without ANY communication telling me why they’re charging me (my credit card company marked as fraud). I had to contact them to inquire. I refused to pay it and then they reached out to Hertz and THEY charged my card, also without and authorization to do so. Do not recommend.

I recently rented a car from Thrifty at the Raleigh, NC airport. A Hertz employee called me to her line and rushed me through. I was never asked if I wanted all the extras - insurance, etc. I never rent vehicles. I ended up paying $742.36 for a 4 day rental in a mid size Nissan sedan! I tried to explain I hadn’t wanted all the extras but they said I “approved” them at the time of the rental. And now I just incurred an additional $29.98 for tolls and convenience fee. Tourists should not be responsible for convenience fees.

Negative 5 stars. Picked up car at night. Next morning I see burn holes in seat and floor mats. So I called to report and they made note and thanked me for the call. Also went on line and filled out preexisting damage report. Dropped off car and received a $1200 charge for cleaning and damage. I dont even smoke. Cant get a real person to talk to on the phone I am livid and dont know what to do.

I had a reservation for 11 pm tonight. The flight wasn't landing until after 10 so I called the corporate office and they said the office was closed at 10 pm so I cancelled the reservation. I got to the airport and it was indeed open. They told me they could not reopen the reservation and there was no car for me. My wife called corporate back and they reopened the reservation, but could not confirm if the office was still open at 1105 pm. The corporate office giving us the incorrect closure time and telling us that no one would be there to put me in a car cost me an additional 270.00 for a reservation somewhere else. This is completely unacceptable.

Whatever you do, stay far away from this car rental company. The level of deception they operate with is outrageous. I explicitly declined their insurance, and they still sneakily charged me for it. Then, they convinced me to pay for a toll pass in Orlando, but guess what? No pass was ever provided, and I was hit with toll charges separately later on. This is beyond frustrating—it’s outright FRAUD. The way they run their business is nothing short of criminal. Their staff are liars, and their tactics are clearly designed to mislead and extort money from unsuspecting customers. I wouldn’t trust them with a penny of your money.

I returned my rental in great condition. I have been renting cars for 40 years and have never been required to wash a car driven only on paved roads. I believe because I got this car from a link on economy bookings they are trying to collect more money. I requested photos but have had no luck.

If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. We were confirmed to have a vehicle and they knew we were arriving late from airport. When we arrived we were told that there were no more cars left.. that they over booked. No concern, no compassion, no attempt at problem solving, not even eye contact...zero customer service... and 5 minutes later staff closed and left leaving us stranded at ****************** at 2:00am. There was no excuse for this. Stay away from Thrifty... and ***** owns them now, so I would avoid them as well. Terrible experience. I am sure I will get an "we are sorry" reply to this. However, Thrifty now has a 2.0 rating out of 5.0 over 919 reviews on ******, and a 1.06 out of 5.0 score with 697 reviews on the Better Business Bureau site, so obviously nothing has changed which can only mean that they really don't care. I hope they go out of business or better yet, get criminally prosecuted.

Garbage. Trash. The worst experience. Why bother booking in advance when dead eyed employees will just tell you to wait two more hours after already waiting in line an hour? Never, ever again. The CEO of this company can go for in a basement.

Never again. This company is truly a mess. I don't know who runs Thrifty corporation but they should be fired. Get to CHS on 10/2. We go to the Hertz desk because of course there is no one at Thrifty. ***** checks us in and says, "I think your car is in the Hertz lot space 130. If not let me know." Mind you its about a 15 minute walk to get to the rental car area. We get to Hertz and there's no car. We had to turn on the alarm and walk around the garage to find the car. It was in the Thrifty lot. We had no code to get out of the gate, so once again I had to walk back to Hertz and see if anyone could help. They had to call Diane and get the code. Upon our return we Parked in the same spot we found the car. Once again there was no one in sight. I walked over to Hertz to tell them the car was in spot 3. Angel starts chastizing me and said there were signs saying to come to Hertz. First of all, I was never told to return the car to Hertz, secondly we had never been to this airport before and were looking for Thrifty signs. We will never rent from Thrifty or Hertz again. The service is horrific.
