On 17th June, I ordered a Hertz Rental car. I received my confirmation number the same day. I was asked to be at the Hertz Rental office on 8000 Georgia Ave by 10:45 am on 19th June as the office closed at 11:00 am. I was there on time. As I walked into the office, there was only one lady behind the counter waiting on a man and two others standing by to be waited on.
As I entered the office, the lady looked up at me and said in a very loud and aggressive manner that if 'I am there to pick up a car, she has no cars'. I asked her if she was speaking to me; I then informed her that I had a reservation. She said she still had no cars and that I should have received a call to say there were no cars. Confused about how I could have taken my time to order a vehicle and receive a confirmation from Hertz and now be told there were no cars was quite unbelievable. I just turned around and walked out. Not at any time did this lady say sorry, this should not have happened, or any such comment.
I am old enough to realize how long Hertz has been around, and I am also old enough to know that Hertz used to be one of the leading and most reliable car rentals. To see Hertz deteriorate to this is something I cannot imagine. The fact that this lady very likely still has a job at Hertz is even more unbelievable. If Hertz is tired of being in the business and chooses not to fix these issues, Hertz needs to throw in the towel. Look at all the reviews that are a 1-star? I doubt you are even reading all these reviews. There is nothing good here to read!
You have lost many customers and now, you have just lost another one, me. What you fail to realize is that customers have choices and many of us are now looking at our other options.
Customer service is key and, hopefully, you will find managers that realize this and turn your company from a 1-star, back to a 5-star car rental!Review fromRuthanna I

Prepaid for a $102 rental. My card then had two deposits placed on it. One for $100 and one for $200. Two weeks later I am still trying to get the holds released from my card. They gave me some bogus release numbers that mean nothing to the credit card company. I will walk before I ever rent from herz again. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. Car I rented was not available, received a comparable car after going back and forth a lot. This is after waiting in line at the Hertz gold member counter for a bit to start with. Got the car, windshield wiper fluid was low. Drove to my first stop, got a low tire pressure warning. Ended up not being able to use the car at all. Hertz would not send out roadside assistance to change the tire on a car they sent out with a nail in the tire. Just awful all around.Review fromShaglavia J

They don't tell you if you rent a car for 4 days your charge for a weekly rate, you only keep it 4 days, but pay for a week, airport workers are rude act like it's there car were renting I would recommend no one to rent from themReview fromLaila M

Hertz car rentals. I am at Hertz at the Fresno airport. Agent Juan is incredibly rude. Second time he has been rude with me. I am here only 30 minutes early to pick up a vehicle and he is making me wait THE FULL 30 MINUTES to pick up the car! Only this agent does this. Last time I came he did the same thing. I walked away and when he left I went to another agent who checked me in. Hertz is the only rental place in this airport that does this. And Juan is the only agent that does this! He is extremely rude, and does not give any explanation why he is doing it. He gives no communication what-so-ever unless I ask. Horrible, car rental place. Worse I have ever seen. Worst customer experience I have ever had. Car was in bad shape and slow service. Then they didn't charge the credit card on record. I am a gold member and they always charge the card on record. They did charge the following three rentals on that card with no issue. They never reached out to me to ask me to pay (don't assume they will charge you even though they say they will). Eventually got a bill in the mail which looked like a scam. When I called in to see if it was, they said I didn't owe anything. I called in two more times just to check if I owed anything. Again, I was told I didn't. Then three months later I get a call from collections and put on do not rent list. Spent three hours on the phone to get it resolved. Had to call in multiple times because associates hung up on me. Three different associates said they would have a supervisor call me back. The supervisor never called me back.Review fromChris B

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. My mom is in the hospital and I need a car to go see her and they absolutely ****** me and charged my card and then told me they don't have a car for me so now I have to wait 10 days to get my refund which I do not have the funds to do what John(hertz corporate) told me to do abs simply just "re-book", are you ******* kidding me? Thanks so much for your help Hertz now I'm tied financially as well as can't go see my mom. *****, don't ever book with them they will scam and screw you.Review fromKathryn C

We pre-paid for a vehicle for a family trip. However, the day of our flight back home, our flight got canceled with no other flights going out of that airport that day. We changed our flight to go out of a different airport and tried to change our booking by calling Hertz. The first person we talked to said they couldn't help and there were no managers available to talk to me. The second person I talked to said they can change my reservation to be able to drop off my car at a different location for a small fee (like $13) and maybe one small airport charge. I was expecting to pay a max of $50-60, but I got a charge of over $430 for changing airports - mostly mileage charges. I called "customer service" and the first person refunded one $50 charge, but said he couldn't refund any of the other charges. The second person hung up on me, and the third person refunded $100 of the mileage charges, saying all the charges are valid and cannot refund me anything else. Not one person told me that by switching airports that I'd be charged mileage and their customer service people were not at all helpful. At least I got $150 back, but it's ridiculous that they would not refund me the whole thing since I called ahead and thought everything was set. It turns out nothing was done by that customer service rep who said I could return to a different airport for only a small fee. I will NEVER use these people again. They're scam artists who have the WORST customer service I've ever encountered. I contacted Hertz to let them know I was dissatisfied and someone was supposed to call me within 72 hours. Well....we're almost two weeks into that 72 hours and nobody has contacted me. What a terrible company with zero integrity.Review fromJP

Prepaid for rental for two weeks. Hertz mistakenly had the rental towed from where we are staying on vacation. They admit they made a mistake by towing our rental. It has been 24 hours since the "mistake" and Hertz has not replaced the rental. We are senior citizens from out of state with no vehicle to go anywhere. We do not get updates from Hertz. We keep calling them for updates but they will not provide status updates. They only say "We'll call you when we get another vehicle for you."Review fromEvelyn W

I rented a car on Sept. 21, 2021 at the Bangor Airport. The rental was from 9/21-9/25. My credit card was charged over $2500, which is ridiculous! I've been corresponding with them for months and they cannot justify this charge. I want a full refund on my credit card.
