      Have been renting from Hertz for decades and only recently began experiencing issues. Last year, my wife was given a Tucson (less than 2 years old) which began having engine/transmission problems a couple of hours into a long trip. Limped into Salt Lake City hours later where they finally replaced the vehicle. Today, she left on the same trip in a Hertz 2022 Ford Explorer which started spraying oil all over the engine compartment on the second day. 7+ hours later, finally received a replacement vehicle via tow truck (after having the first replacement cancelled). A small 2021 Equinox with a windshield that looks like someone sandblasted it. Once again returning to Salt Lake City for a replacement (at least this one drives). Company appears to be having serious issues with maintenance and their Roadside Assistance is laughable - you get platitudes, but not assistance.

      Pls ed an to pick up car on 10/06/22. I was at the store to pick up car at 8.00 am before they opened at Buford Hertz car rental. When they open went in and I was the first one. As soon as the employee looked at the computer screen and told me me I have $30 per day extra. Cause they did not have car which I booked. So , I asked to cancel my reservation. Employee at the counter said it’s canceled and I should an email of cancellation. Which I never got. On Monday October. 10. I see a charge of $47.46 on my card. When I did not pickup car why did they charge my card on file. There is no person to talk on the phone. Some texting me and that it will be escalated and I did not hear after that.

      This is by far the worst company to get a rental from. If you have to return early for any issue, be it an emergency or not, they will destroy you in fees. An $800 charge will suddenly shoot up to well over $1000 if you return it within 12 hours. The customer support is insanely rude. I had to keep waiting for more that 25 minutes each time I asked a question, but that wasn't the case before I asked about returning early due to having to leave. Before that they were prompt, asking me if I wanted to extend or exchange for a larger vehicle. This is such a money hungry company. They give no ***** about their customers. Go through ******** or anything else, honestly.

      The worst experience I've had renting a car. Reserved a car online, and on the day of my pick-up I called to confirm my reservation. Four time my call went unanswered. The 5th time, someone answered and said "I'm busy." and hung up. When I picked up my car, the attendant was using her phone and wouldn't even acknowledge me until I got her attention, keep in mind, there were no other customers waiting, I was literally the only one at the counter. I asked to prepay the gas, which she told me she added, then stuffed all the papers into a pouch and hurried us out the door. When returning my car, I was told the prepaid gas was never put on the account and I owuld have to pay $10/gal. I was very confused by this, so I called the location. The person I spoke with was pleasant enough and said a manager would call me back. No call back from a manager. Really a disappointing experience to say the least.

      Terrible service they will try to blame you for anything they can to charge extra money we rented a car and we are non smokers but they claimed we smoked in the vehicle you cant contact them as needed and if you do they are very rude we will never use this company again I will go with a trustable and good company next time rather than these scam artists main suggestion stop using them maybe the world will be lucky enough they go out of business worst company if you need a car look elsewhere they will rip you off and over charge you and when you ask them to show any type of proof they refuse to no one deserves to be treated the way this company treats people for their gain

      0 Stars - Reserved a car and confirmed Oct. 9 at 4:46 pm for Oct 11 pickup at noon. Received a text message Oct. 10 at 9:05 am reminding me of my reservation. Go to pick up car Oct 11 and cannot find location. I call the number given to me and rude answering female states they do not have any cars and blamed me because I should have called them myself to verify. I asked why did I receive a text message reminding me of my rental instead of one stating they do not have a car. Go home, call 800 number to try and find a car. They find me a car across town, only problem is because it is last minute rental, price has now doubled and it would not have given me the time to drive where I needed to be. Needless to say I missed a Family member's memorial service due to the total lack of customer service provided that I cannot replace. Thank you Hertz!

      I officially HATE Hertz with a passion! I only get a chance to see my one and only child about twice a year. She paid for her rental in advance but was told the day before her flight they have no car for her and the refund would take up to 7 days. Her flight is cancelled. I won't see my baby this year for my birthday. I WILL NEVER USE OR REFER ANYONE TO THIS PLACE!!! EVER

      Made a reservation for September in March. Received multiple confirmations from Hertz up to and including 2 days before rental. Arrived to "no cars" and "no reservation" despite having paperwork and confirmation in hand. They flatly refused to help resolve the situation.Their sister location (airport -- same franchise, apparently) was just as bad. They complained that Hertz corporate shouldn't be sending customers to them. (Yes, while wearing a Hertz uniform and standing under a Hertz sign.) Finally coughed up a dirty car after an hour wait. Charged the wrong card (not the one I *handed* them) and surreptitiously changed the rate to charge mileage (vs. the original unlimited plan).Every question/ask for help was responded to with "We're a franchise: we refuse to help you."And Hertz corporate was just as bad... "They are a franchise: they can do whatever they want (or don't want)."

      The warning lights for t low tire pressure came on after driving the car for 2 hours. I pulled over on the highway and called Jetta at least 50 times and no one answered. I was on busy Hwy 287, alone and in the dark. I was crying and almost called 911. A guy stopped to help me and I took the help even though I was afraid. The tires all had less than 20 lbs of pressure and no valves on the tires. There is no inspection sticker on the vehicle either. At 1:00 AM after I got to my hotel, I called them 10 more times before I got through. The wanted me to get it towed to a tire shop the next day (which was Sunday and none are open). I will never use this company again.

      I drive for uber and own a small transport business. I rely on hertz retal for uber. Hertz failed to update the registration on numberous vehicles causing drivers to loose wages for over a week and counting. I have a family to raise and tons of bills to pay. Its amazing hlw a big comoany can be so irresponcible to let the registrations run out. I heard they were arresting customers for thier own accounting mistakes as well. Wtf smh
