    Getaround made like they were renting me a car and held up the process for days, charged me to verify my driver's license, which is valid from ******. Then denied me after a week of runaround because I don't have a passport. Why do I need a passport for a domestic rental? They held the process up so long rental prices went up so now I'm spending more and I wasted money and time on a verification process that nobody explained.

    Automatically charged me for tolls after I paid for tolls myself through specifically marked cash tolls. Do not trust this company.

    Was overcharged for a late return after the vehicle I had wouldnt start. I tried contacting the owner AND customer support but received no response but they had no problem telling me theyre extending my trip for me and taking my money. If youre going to rent something out these vehicles need to be inspected after every return just like **, the renters, have to complete an inspection before leaving with the vehicle. And I cant get in contact with a live person to even report the issue. Ive submitted several tickets and several complaints just for an automated email to tell me it may take a few days to get back to me. DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!

    I have been a user of ********************** for years. I adhere to all the rules, return rentals on time and sometimes in better condition than before. But as of late this company has really disappointed me. This morning is the third time that the day before a rental I have booked more than enough in advance is being canceled on me. Now I can be reasonable but there is no way for you to talk to a human customer service rep with this company. This instance in particular I am not able to swap for a car that suit my needs, if I cancel the current booking I still have to pay and each time I contact them they just issue me a new request for help. Last time this happened they sent me to 3 different car locations for rentals and none of the cars were there and that was after I had no access to the original car. All in all the business is capitalizing on peoples needs for easy transportation and yet, after how many years, lack the proper customer resources to fix what are pretty common problems when you are renting cars. It really disappointing considering the rentals aren't necessarily cheap.Also the number you have list as a contact for this company is a **** end. It is just a message that tell you to go to the app/website and that is the beginning of the run around.

    I am beyond angry! Minutes before I was scheduled to pick up the car, I received an email and a phone call saying that that car is not at the location I was designated to pick it up from. They were advising that I can be transferred to a new car or receive a refund for the trip. I called and opted to be transferred to a new car. I spoke to **** and she advised me that there was another car in my area and that I could transfer into it but that I would have to pay ANOTHER DEPOSIT!! The initial deposit I paid was $150 and this new one is $300. This is quite upsetting because now I have to wait to get the $150 back on to my card in **** business days, and dish out another $300 on my card. THIS IS UNFAIR to say the least considering that Im not the one who cancelled the trip in the first place. Their policy ***** and should be more accommodating to clients who book and get cancelled on unfairly. If Im cancelled on I should be placed in a new car without any inconvenience to me or having to pay any additional fees! Im planning to file a class action lawsuit regarding their policy.

    Stay away from this business. After being a loyal customer for years and continually having to put up with their poor management: cars with dead batteries, cars that weren't parked where they said they'd be, cars with no keys, and gas charges even after I'd filled the tank, they moved on to fraudulent insurance claims now. I returned a car and they rightly pointed out that there was a scuff **** on the back bumper. I acknowledged that it must have happened on my trip while I was parked. They then preceded to charge $1200 on my credit card claiming there was bumper damage. The photos clearly showed there was only a small paint ****. When I said I would be disputing the claim and challenging the credit card charge they stopped communicating with me all together and offered no further evidence of the bumper damage. Getaround treats their customers horribly, taking advantage of any opportunity to squeeze more money out of them, all while offering a sub-par service.

    Dear Getaround,I want to begin by saying I have been a loyal, compliant, and grateful customer for 2 years, and am in disbelief at how I am being treated. I want to clarify that I am not responsible for the scratch the owner found on the bumper after I had completed my trip and walked home. I took pre and post-trip photos and even videos during and after my trip, and in every single one of these photos and videos - there is NO damage to the car. The claims department is trying to frame me as having scratched the car, and saying "you can see the damage in your videos and photos" but ignoring me, and not showing me where (because I do not see any damage in the videos or photos, because THERE IS NONE) This claim came up 4 weeks after my trip and shocked me. There is absolutely zero evidence that I damaged this car. You cannot see the damage yet in my post-trip photos. However, magically the owner finds damage later and getaround assumes it is my fault. I rent very very often from this owner on getaround, and the parking garage it is located in is in an area with very high crime rate. There are homeless and mentally ill people who defecate and scratch cars every single day. If I have provided all the necessary evidence that pre and post trip there was no damage, I do not see any reason to charge me money for something I did not do. I would like to have somebody else review these photos and videos, because my claims agent is not responding to me, refusing to answer my questions about what reasons she has to believe I did this. Please review the security camera footage in this parking garage to see who scratched the car.I don't know what occurred after my trip, and I should not be held responsible for anything that happens after my trip is completed. The multiple post-trip photos I submitted showed NO damage.Rest assured, I will be filing a dispute with every party possible, as this is an improperway to conduct business. They also then threatened to close my account!

    The ************* Ever, they will wait weeks after your rental to charge you for a ridiculous amount even though the car has been rented out after you.

    I am not a renter on Getaround (GA), I was a host. The car I put on the platform was a brand new 2022 mid-size SUV that was TOTALED during the first trip on GA. Every interaction I have had with the company since then to resolve the issue has been nothing but stress. Ive been going in circles and not getting any answers whatsoever. They forwarded the claim to ****** Claim Solutions to investigate the case. The ****** rep assigned to my case let me know that they are waiting for GA to approve the total loss paperwork so that a check can be sent to my lien-holder. GA has done NOTHING but stall. Why? Who knows. I have asked GA for a turnaround time for the approval of the ****** request, since I still have a monthly payment on the car and they are dragging their feet. I followed ALL terms of service and did everything by the book and yet they dont have any answers for me. As a host, as a guest, STAY AWAY FROM GETAROUND! You are only inviting stress into your life. I was hesitant to even join the platform and now look where I am. My gut was warning me against using it and I went against my better judgement. Now I suffer for it! When will the ****** approval be completed GA, when? Ill come back and provide an update to everyone.

    Getaround are a bunch of thieves. I rented a car and added 15 minutes to refuel. Fuel was added and the car was parked at 8:18PM because I needed to park the car. They are now charging me $67.00 ($50.00 late fee and a $17.00 gas refuel fee). They will scam you out of your money. Stay away!!!
