    I had a negative experience with a renter who sent a rude message a week after the rental due to being penalized for an inappropriate return. When I reported it to Getaround, their response seemed dismissive and attempted to shift blame onto me. It feels like they're gaslighting me. I wouldnt recommend listing your car with them or renting from them as this is how they handle problems.

    The worse customer service. Am unauthorized amount of $225 was taken from account without notice. I was suppose to get a call back about the reason the car I rented broke down in the middle of the busy road with my 5 year and elderly mother was passengers to. It took me 3 hours to even get in contact with someone to help me. It's impossible to even try to get help with this issue. This service is a scam

    If I could give these crooks and scammers negative zeros, I would. The rental car I had was stolen from the hotel that I was staying at. I followed all protocols such as filing a police report, and returning the key to the pick up location. They were suppose to refund me my deposit and the remaining time on the reservation. This happened on December 20, 2023. It is now January 12, ***************************************************************** that the car fuel levels were at 31% and I am responsible for that. What??? I told them you do understand that the car was stolen so I should not be charged for the fuel levels considering I was not able to return the car. Their response was prior to the car being stolen, I did use gas that needed to be replaced and although it may have been less than 31%, this is their policy. Do not give these people your money. It is a nightmare! Also, the car was dirty upon pick up with seat stains and dirt on the floor. I did send the pictures from the inspection and write a note about these things. The only reason why I kept the car is because I was attending a Laker game that evening and was pressed for time. Again, DO NOT KEEEP THESE CROOKS AND SCAMMERS IN BUSINESS!!!!

    The car had an expired inspection sticker which got me towed. I contacted Getaround who assured me I will not be charged. Until I did, for the tow fee and a retrieval charge. 679 in total. I could've gotten the car myself if I knew Getaround is going to charge me for getting it-- I was assured I won't. My trip had to end early and I had to Uber my way for the rest of the trip. Getaround is refusing to reverse their decision to bill me for something I was not responsible for. **************** was note helpful at all and insisted it was my fault. I wanted to *** them in small claims but I really dont have the time and resources to do so. I hope someone does. Avoid this business at all cost. And I sincerely hope that my review will contribute to the evidence against this companys unfair practices.

    Horrible customer service and horrible experience. I rented a vehicle to drive for UBER. Once arrived all windows down on the car. Upon further inspection car smelled of (cigarette etc.) Then walking around the car it had front end damage not in vehicle listing. With tape holding the light together. Lastly it had low tire pressure. When I started the vehicle and pulled off immediately the low tire pressure warning came on. It felt like the tire was flat. Called Getaround and was instructed to return the vehicle will receive a full refund. Only for the host to say nothing was wrong with car. And they are investigating my refund. What bothers me is I did what was told of me by Getaround only to now be out of almost $500. This company needs to be more accountable for the vehicles theyre allowing people to rent. These cars are sight seen and most times their not worth the rental fees. And they have no accreditation. Simply scamming people between them and the hosts its ridiculous.

    Bunch of scam artists. Insurance Frauds Going on here. Every single car they rent out is Dirty, dented up, and disgusting. All the Cars are messed up and filthy!!!!! DONT EVER RENT FROM THEM EVER!!! There was a rear bumper scratch and tried to blame for it. Disgrace!

    Well beyond bad customer experience, well into fraud territory. Do not use this service under any circumstances. As a renter I was charged $1,000 for a temporary smudge on the side of a vehicle. I say it was a temporary smudge because I did not notice it when I dropped off the car and after a claim was opened I returned and wiped it off with my thumb. Completely gone, zero permanent damage, I have photo evidence that confirms this. They then lied about the cost to fix the "damage" (claimed it cost $2,200) and refused to provide an invoice for services performed to support the number I was quoted. Once they charged my card they did not respond to any form of communication (emails, calls, open tickets, etc.). They ignored the evidence that I sent them corroborating my story. Currently working with my bank to remove the charge.

    Do not become a host with this company, keep your cars away from Getaround. I had my car totaled in mid September by one of their guest and at first they were moving rapidly to get the case resolved. I gave up my car to copart who they used to recover the car and also quickly signed over the rights to my title thinking I would see the money right away. Here we are on mid October and Getaround has not even created a check to payoff my loan. I follow up with the insurance company and not given a date or legitimate reason why they have not paid me for the car that they totaled. Meanwhile while I am losing out of earnings and they have not processed any loss of use earrings they claim to provide under their terms.

    I rented a car and I backed into another car. The car I was driving was not damaged but I reported damage anyway the host agreed their was no damage and said to Getaround their was no damage but they took **** dollars out of my account anyway without warning my account was overdrawn. I payed for the damage to the other car - there was no damage to the car I was driving the host had received nothing. They did this at a time when I cant call my bank or call customer service. I should have looked here before using them.

    awful company. ruined my vacation. canceled my trip with prius 2 hrs before pick up. i has plans to pick up car and drive down there cali coast -here with my 11 yo from *************, first time in cali. they canceled my trip but didnt fully refund me. three reps told me theyd call me back to update my reservation and did not. then the booked a car that looked like it wouldnt make it around the block. good fully charged for that but told them to cancel that as well. didnt feel safe. she said shed send a code for discount but didnt until after my trip time started and i had booked a third car full price. they didnt answer- it was after hrs. the third car was worse than second, looked nothing like the pics. .. smelled awful, pike on outside, duct tape holding parts together, filthy rugs and interior. multiple structural damage. could get no one on phone again. once someone answered and hung up on me. meanwhile my son and i are standing beside a deserted highways in a foreign state no clue where we were when its getting dark. so i took photos and canceled again. rebooked again at full price because i has no choice i literally has no where to stay and no way to get around and has reservations 2 hrs drive away. fourth car was ok but wasnt where they said it was parked.. wandered around a strange neighborhood for an hr looking in peoples driveways until the owner finally got back to me and said it was on someones house and provided an address.. when we went a man came out and told us to go to the back of his house inside a gate to get the car, in the dark, felt incredibly sketchy. finally he brought out the car but not after laughing at me for not feeling safe. i now have 4 full price charges for cars all over $300 and lost a full day of vacation to being on the phone and searching for cars. this was the most awful experience and have no idea of i can get my money back. i will be having my lawyer reach out there them.
