Purchased a printer and they scammed me into signing up for HP instant ink. I never gave then my credit card to purchase any. They made up an account for me anyway. A few days ago my printer was locked and wouldn't print. After hours of research, uninstalling, resetting I stumbled upon a forum about HP instant ink and how it locks printer remotely. I called a support person and within seconds of complaining my printer starting printing. This is a scam and totally illegal to control a privately owned printer in a home. Please look into this situation as it is not only a crime it is frightening that a company could do this to a private citizen. Thank you.

I just spent two hours with incompetent tech support people who could not understand why my HP Envy **** could not scan. I repeatedly explained the problem occurred coincidentally with a system upgrade. After requiring me to start a maintenance contract for $51.99 for the first month, experiencing numerous tests and delays, the third tech support person explained how the new program required a source button in a totally different location. Nothing was wrong with the printer, just HP's failure to inform customers about a new operating program and inadequate training of tech support people. HP should pay up for such frustrating customer service.

Hp is engaging in predatory subscription practices, and amplifies that issue by disabling ink.

I recently canceled my HP Instant Ink subscription. This was for a home printer that does not get used frequently. Last night, in preparation for a trip, I had a very important document to print. One page. Until I discovered HP had hijacked my printer. You may not print until you subscribe to HP Instant Ink. WHAT???? I paid many times over for that ink. I called your tech support. Override please if you have any interest in good customer service. Nope, nothing doing. It's all of $4.23 per month. And, you had the audacity to charge my credit card after I canceled and I still couldnt use my printer. This is about unscrupulous behavior and inconvenience you caused me rather than the money. It cost me $55 to replace the ink today, so I promptly called my credit card company and had them dispute every charge since the beginning of the year. Are you proud of this attitude your company has towards consumers? After googling how to get my printer to work after being hijacked by HP, low and behold, I am hardly the first person to be bamboozled by your company. Of course I will be posting negative reviews everywhere possible and will file complaint with BBB.

One of the most frustrating experiences with printer software and ink. Printer software and interface is dominated by an ill-functioning app (ironically named HP Smart). Ink is offered via a subscription but if you cancel the company locks you out of the ink cartridges you paid for. So MEAN and environmentally unfriendly. How is this company still in business? Do they actually sit in board meetings and strategize how to make customers loathe them? They should offer classes on proven horrible business practices and sub-par software.

Will never spend another dime on HP products until they remove all the c*** they make try and do with ink to use the printer. Have it in the software to make you unable to print in black and white if you are out of any of the color ink cartriges.

** doesn't care about their customers! I purchased an ** Envy x360 15" on 08/03/2022. On 08/01/2023, my laptop wouldn't boot up when pressed the power button. I went on the ** website on 08/01/2023 for help. I entered my serial number, and the website kept directing me to purchase a service plan. I couldn't find a phone number, nor was I able to do a live chat. The website isn't user-friendly. It took me more than a week to get to a human. I finally did so by posting a message on FB. The ************ Manager gave me a link and a phone number. The phone number worked. However, because it took me so long to get to someone, I'm now being told that my laptop is out of warranty. I escalated the issue twice. After all of this frustration, I was offered a $25 coupon towards the purchase of another ** product. Thats an insult! My ****** and my **** lasted for years and still work. I will never purchase another ** product nor recommend anyone else buy one. The treatment you get rewarded with is subpar at best! Never ever making another ** product purchase!!!!

My printer does not work properly!!! After the 6 month subscription, the company will not allow you to use the printer without keeping the subscription and stated that the printer can only be used on WiFi. I spent $100 for this printer and its useless. Dont buy from this company

C*** company. Went to cancel a subscription for ink. Because it is just not worth it any longer. They tell us that the ink cartridges that we have will not work once the subscription is cancelled. We may print 1-2 pages a month. Have had the printer for 3+ years and have only replaced one cartridge. Now the ones that we have, that still have plenty of ink in them. Will not be able to work once the plan expires. Scam, thats all this is is a giant scam for the company to **** and pillage another customer

When buying an ** printer I was offered a program where they will automatically send me ink. For this, I agreed and gave them my debit card number. My bank card was canceled due to fraud and this caused my automatic billing with Instant Ink to stop! I called them and spoke to 2 people that can barely speak English and was told that I had to update my card information. I explained to them that my bank card was stopped due to fraud and they still wouldn't let me use my printer. They stated that I had a billing coming out of my account from 7/21/23 of $12.71, I'm like lady I just got back to work after being off work for 3 months due to a severe asthma attack! I told her that after they get this payment to remove me from this janky a** plan. The ** rep responded by disabling my printer so I cannot use it. So, apparently, they have some kind of control over their ink cartridges and can stop them from working in your printer! Mind you I have several cartridges from these people and they not trying to give me my money back. I would clearly advise that no one subscribes to this service, they are here to take your money and monitor what you do on your printer. I'm not surprised if they are the reason for all the fraud that goes on in the world!
