Budget / Avis does not focus on customer. They have an ethical and competency problem with their employees at Charleston SC site. Someone took a car from their parking garage and are blaming us for their lack of control over their rental cars. Summary: We traveled to Charleston, SC arriving 11-Mar-2022, rented a car from Budget Rent a Car at the Charleston, SC airport on 11-Mar-2022 and returned it to the Charleston airport on the morning of 15-Mar-2022. We stayed at the Oceanfront Hotel in Charleston, SC and departed the morning of 15-Mar-2022 We dropped off the car at the Charleston, SC Airport early 15-Mar-2022. There were no employees at the rental return in the Charleston Airport garage so we left the keys and rental agreement at the rental station in the rental car return area in the garage. We went into Airport, through security and to our gate because our flight departed from Charleston, SC at 10:00 AM. A week later we received a charge from Budget rental car stating we did not return the car to the Charleston, SC airport but left it at the Columbia SC airport. I contacted both Budget Rent a Car and Bank of America to explain that Budget made a mistake and that we returned the car to the Charleston, SC airport on 15-Mar-2022. Dispute Conclusion: We checked out of our Hotel in Charleston, SC on 15-Mar-2022 @7am, drove to Charleston Airport and boarded flight at 10am. There is no way we drove to Columbia, SC 2 hours away, took some other type of transportation back to Charleston and departed on our Southwest airline flight at 10am in the same morning. Budget made a mistake and refuses to remove a $600 charge applied to our credit card.Budget Rent-A-Car

You stated that you returned the vehicle back to the Charleston, SC Airport on March 15, 2022, and not to the Columbia, SC airport as we indicated. If this is an error, we would make it right. Please provide us with supporting documentation like your airline boarding pass or any other documents to confirm that the vehicle was returned to the original location. I wouldn't even give it one star. We rented a car from Budget in Burlington, NJ. As soon as we hit Georgia the tire light came on, by the time I found a gas station with an air pump it was flat. Pumped it up, got to our location and it went flat again. We called the location we got it from, and roadside assistance, everyone was very rude. They said they were sending a tow truck that never came. Now today, I finally get through and have a tow truck coming but no word on a replacement car. Now we're stranded, states away. I returned a vehicle to Hobby Airport in Houston Tx on 5/23. The vehicle was picked up in Austin Tx. I received a letter today 6/7 indicating I am going to be charged 450.00 due to the vehicle being returned with excessive spoilage, animal hair. This is a lie this is impossible unless the hair was in the vehicle when I picked it up. I am afraid of animals and will not be in the presence of animals.
They did not send pictures with the letter. This is very upsetting due to the fact the vehicle I picked up in Houston was filthy. I will never rent another vehicle from budget or Avis. I am disappointed in this company.
I spoke with customer service, they removed the charges. I would like to be contacted by someone in management to explain how this happened.Budget Rent-A-Car

With the tropical storm hitting Key west our flight had been cancelled twice. So we went online and reserved a car to drive to miami to catch a flight there. Once all checked out of the hotel and to the airport I was told that no car rentals were being honored unless you were a "premier member" AND your reservation was made more than 48 hours prior. THAN.....As they were telling people that they didn't have enough cars to honor them....someone with a premier membership walked up to the counter and him and the CSR giggled over what color car he wanted and how happy she was that she could get him the car he wanted in the color he wanted. So I ended up spending $450 on an Uber to get to Miami so I didn't miss my flight. This type of business is unethical and wrong on so many levels. I will NEVER use Budget for a car rental EVER!!!!!Budget Rent-A-Car

I returned a car on 5/30/22. I realized that I left my debit card in the car I immediately called Budget rent a car to file a lost item report approximately 1PM. I thought be today 6/4/22, I would have received it back or received an email or a return call. I did not. I filed another report today, since my other report was not listed on their site. Then I called to talk to a customer care representative. I was on hold for 49 minutes and then disconnected. I called back and asked to get a call back from Budget and still have not heard anything.
