      I rented a pre paid car for June 29-July 4 from Albuquerque, rental agreement number *********. The rental arrangement was one continuous series of errors.

      I rented the car from the ABQ Crown Plaza location instead of the airport as I could save $100 going that route. Check in was fairly simple but within 30min of having the car I noticed the expired registration sticker; for those who are not aware it's illegal to drive on an expired registration sticker & as a Black person the situation was extremely unsafe. Returned to the Crown Plaza location to remedy matters & they try to swap me into another Honda Civic. Turns out the 2nd vehicle also had an expired registration sticker. From there the solution became either (1) wait an indefinite period of time for the airport to deliver more vehicles or (2) drive to the airport and make the swap; needless to say it was a lose lose scenario. Ultimately, was switched into a Honda CRV Hybrid despite my request for a small vehicle and off I went 4 hours later.

      After checking the agreement, it read the vehicle should be returned to the Crown Plaza & so I brought it there. The staff person told me to take the car to the airport site which was perplexing but went with it given I only had 30min left on my reservation. Got the car to the airport with 15min left. Checked it in & within a few moments noticed an unauthorized charge for $36.57. Went into the customer service booth to remedy this matter, but no one was there and it remained unstaffed for easily 20min. Once an authorized staff member arises they have to call the powers that be to walk him through the situation taking another 30min with the end result being another unauthorized charge this time for $3.66. We had to rinse and repeat. Ultimately nothing was remedied

      Called a few days later. On the phone was told nothing that could be done but send an email noting the authorized charges. Sent it & received an email telling me the documentation/screenshot isnt valid

      I rented and prepaid ($354.93) for a vehicle from the MEM airport location on 5/26/2022, with a return date of 5/30/2022 at 6pm. On 5/30 @ 1031 CST I attempted to extend the rental on the app but was unsuccessful and was instructed to call the 800 customer service number. My rental was extended for 3 days (new return date 6/2/2022 2 6pm) for $280.97. I was contacted by a representative at the location on 5/31/2022, stating the vehicle needed to be returned immediately because it was overdue and I explained the situation to her. She told be that because they were a franchise company prepaid rentals could not be extended and she could not provide any additional assistance to me and gave me the manager's number in which I left a vm but was never able to verbally connect with her. Over the course of the next several days my credit card was attempted to be charge by Budget for amounts over $500 and $1000 and my credit card company blocked the card. Also, on 5/31/2022, I contacted 800 customer service again and was told by a representative named Alex that the extension was successful and not to follow the instructions of the location. I followed up several time and spoke to several representatives and was informed once the location closed the out the agreement they would be able to make modifications regarding the total price of the contract ($1023.03). Since then I haven't been able to get this issued resolved and now customer service is stating they can't help. Clearly there needs to be adequate training across the board in order for representatives to relay the correct information because this is unacceptable customer service. Furthermore, the information listed on the contract is inaccurate: such as miles in & out, and time in.

      Did she provide her contact information because if she'd conducted a thorough investigation she would see that the information that was provided on my original rental agreement isn't the same on the final. Also, she would've listened to my initial conversation in the line with the rep that I successfully extended the rental.

      On June 27th my husband rental a vehicle online with Budget for 2 days. When we got to our destination, we were told we had to go through the line regardless. When my husband went up to the custom service rep, he told him he rented a car online and was picking it up. The rep went through the formalities and asked my husband if he needed car insurance, my husband said no twice because he asked twice. The rep then told my husband to sign on this pad to acknowledge what they had talked about was accurate. So, my husband signed the pad...thinking the rep was morally honest. But turns out the rep got us for 2 days of car insurance, knowing darn well my husband said NO to the insurance TWICE. This is a scam that Budget does. I was done like this before. I wish I was up there to stop the stealing from happening. Thats what's going on...these people are stealing our money and getting away with it. I hope yawl get it together.

      Penalized for prepaying for a reservation. When renting a car and wanting to return it sooner then expected, while no discount was in the process for pre-paying(but I did it anyway), I will not be issued a refund for the days I do no need the car and have returned it. However, if I hadn't paid at all, I wouldn't be charged for the days when returning it early. Again, to be clear, there is ZERO discount for prepaying. I did it to get it out of the way. And now I am being penalized for being a good customer and paying up front. How does that make any sense? It's beyond frustrating and I have no idea what recourse I have.

      I rented a car from budget on June 17 for one day. Total cost $63.47 for the day, with a $200 deposit. Fair enough, when I returned the car, instead of just refunding the $200, they charged another $63.47 to my card while holding the original $263.47. It is the 1st of July and they still have not released the $263.47. They hold your funds the whole two week time period. Seemingly for no reason. I had the car less than 24 hours but it takes 2 weeks to get my money back? Everything was done electronically, with technology today it's hard to fathom why it takes them so long to release my credit card funds. Keep in mind I was basically charged twice for a one day rental, now I have to wait for my money back.

      This happened today at the Portland ME airport. Talk about bait and switch well here you go. Reserved an intermediate SUV and got a Subcompact crossover SUV and got charged for an intermediate SUV. This is the first time renting from Budget and this is the last time. The only reason we rented from Budget was because no one else had any cars for the dates we need it for. Have been renting from Alamo and Hertz for years and have never had this happen. Not to mention you call their customer service and they know nothing about car classes. Worst rental car company!!!!!

      I prepaid for 2 rental cars and both times they added on insurance and charged us for gas even though we had filled the tank and had filled out online that we did not want the insurance. The agents at the desk can't help you with these charges and I had to call and send a picture of the dashboard with the full gas tank. I've rented with other companies and have never been scammed with this stuff.

      We are disappointed with the service we were provided on 17 June 2022 at the Minneapolis Airport Budget kiosk. When I first approached I was asked if "you had cancelled the ****** reservation as it is showing as cancelled in our system?" When I showed the Budget representative my ****** Travel documents with both the ****** and Budget Confirmation numbers (****** Travel and Budget confirmation numbers can be provided separately if required.) He then said "well maybe it's an availability issue but don't worry, I can help you." We later checked with both ****** and Budget Customer Service office and there was NO cancellation with either company and the Budget Confirmation is still open in Budget system . Long story short, I reserved intermediate size vehicle through ****** with an estimated cost of $475. The final charge Budget presented was over $770! We felt that we were been lied to and taken advantage of with this rental car transaction, we ended up having to pay more than we should have. Truly disappointed in the service and will never use or recommend Budget Car Rentals in the future. Hope this situation will never happen to another customer in the future.
