      Let me preface by stating that I contacted TFCU a month prior to this trip and told them when and where I was going. I was in ******** for my engagement trip, asked my girl-friend to marry me and she said yes! Went to eat and celebrate and head off to the hotel; card was declined. No call, no text, no email. Friday night after hours and no one to speak with. Couldn't pay for dinner, couldn't pay for my hotel room. Spent my engagement night stranded in a car. When I called the bank manager I spoke with laughed at me and did nothing. My card has been closed 3 times since with no rhyme or reason, for purchases I make weekly and monthly. No call, no text, no email. Nothing! In this day and age when society is basically cashless and a bank can cancel access to your money on a whim with no contact what so ever, this is unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and go to literally ANY other bank. If I could give it negative stars, I would give it a negative 10.

      I had a horrible experience with them multiple times but this one has caused me to change banks. To start off their systems were hacked by scammers and they did not even have the decency to inform all members. I found out through my mom because she had to get a card replacement. My situation started while I was on their mobile app. Handling my funds and bills like I normally do when I noticed my account balance kept switching from negative to positive. Also payments that were took out of my available balance were still on hold longer than usual. Then it showed my account in negative like they were talking payments twice. So I called to understand what was going on. The rep agreed if they sent a recent then they must have took the payment off twice and my funds should be released back into my account the next day if not she told me how to call them and ask them to reverse it and if that didnt work to fill out paperwork and file a complaint. The next day it cleared and the hold was off my funds were back into my account. Since I realized they were having problems I made sure to spend my money wisely before they had a glitch that caused me to go into negative again. After it cleared my account was in negative $300 again and this time when I called a rep told me I was given incorrect information and they were having technical difficulties with their app thats why my account kept going in and out of negative. I tried reporting it to the manager because I was upset that the first untrained rep gave me false information regarding the situation. She tried to defend her in a sneaky way to make themselves look like they werent responsible for my account being in the negative, but she agreed to train her rep to word things differently next time. Thats confirming she knew she was in the wrong. Its sad, I own my own business and mangers are supposed to have morals when dealing with customers not try to save their butts to look innocent. I will be changing my bank to chase.

      WE GET IT and BECAUSE WE CARE are both BS GIMMICKS from TFCU. Management at the Tinker Diagonal and ***** S Sooner branches are missing what it means to care or get it. They don't care how long you have been with TFCU and how much business you gave them, if you are in need, they turn their backs on you and are willing to lose you as a member for amazingly insignificant reasons. Stupidity at its best.

      I was literally just told that I cannot buy my school books because theres a $500 a day limit on my new debit card which I had to get because they have the worst debit cards in the world and you have to replace them every three months and because Im also delinquent on my truck loan (which I have a payment arrangement with them approved by them in place already) they cant lift the limit unless I make it current its federally illegal for me to spend student loans on a truck payment this bank is about keeping poor people poor they will charge you an overdraft fee as quick as they can the only help they offered me since Covid with my truck loan was a one time refinance that would have lowered my payment $25 a month raised my interest rate 4% and had a clause that I could never refinance again literally trying to take it vantage of people in a rough spot do not bank here

      I am absolutely appalled at the way their customer service people speak to customers, not to mention a few other things that are just horrendous about this credit union. I have tried numerous times to work with this institution, and they flat out do not care about how they treat people. I called to ask a legitimate question about an account, as well as how to fix it in the drive-thru, and the guy cut me off with some smart-alec, irritated-sounding remark, so I asked him to please wait because it was a legitimate question. No accountability, no kindness, just plain irritation that I would ask such a stupid question. Generations of banking and these people cannot be bothered with compassion or even common courtesy. They do NOT care if they inconvenience their customers with archaic systems, and they care even less about customer retention. Sadly and from personal experience, I would not do business with this credit union as you will be extremely disappointed with the experience. Run, do not walk, in any direction that leads you elsewhere.

      New Accountholders, beware! The in-person banker was more than kind to us when my partner and I went in-person to open a join account. My partner is a long-time member of this CU; I was new to TFCU. We made it ******* clear that this account was going to be used to "immediately" pay our household bills such as rent and utilities. I made a sizable deposit with my own personal check from an account I've had at another CU for over 25 years and she chose to "override" the hold on the check in good faith.It was on a Friday before Memorial Day and rent was going to be paid on the following Tuesday which was the 1st of the month. I was told it would be available but what I was not told was that our debit card would have a $500 daily limit for the first 2 months! So, my payment for the rent would not process causing quite a problem. Additionally, today on the 6th, I took a second check to deposit to cover utility bills I had switched to auto pay from this account and I was told by the drive-thru teller that there would be a hold on my check for SEVEN days "since it's a new account" but they could accept a cash deposit for immediate availability. Really? How helpful. Tinker Federal Credit Union is what I presume to be a financial institution currently active in the year 2022. It should not take 7 days to prove available funds period, but if it's going to, you need to do a much better job at letting new members know VERBALLY what the procedures are so they can make the best choice for themselves and prepare accordingly. I've switched all of my accounts to auto pay from a checking account that I cannot even seem to use even though it's attached to a member in good standing who has been with them for a long time.I am closing this account and taking my business to my own credit union who would never treat me like a thief trying to do shady business just for making deposits and trying to pay bills from it.
