      I just signed with Universal Windows Direct, and I am excited. My vetting process: I looked for companies that had local offices. I reviewed history of company's development, and mission statements. I reviewed customer reviews. I reviewed where and who made the product sold. I initially started with 10 companies to meet with and whittled the list down based on phone interview, customer service by the operator, schedulers and sales representatives. I limited the list to 5 and quickly weeded out companies based on professionalism, customer service, product, who makes the product, who installs the product and warranty. I am pleased that I settled with Universal Windows. Universal Windows made it comfortable from the first phone call, to meeting with the sales representative and to establishing the contract. My representative was Ben. He knew his product, company, warranty and installers. We were able to come to an agreement and I signed the contract. I am thrilled with the products that they will be installing. They will be replacing 60 windows and putting in 10 doors. I will let you know how the project comes out.       Don't use this company, the work was not done to my satisfaction and when I complained they blamed it in my house. I paid a great deal of money for them to just dismiss my concern. Not a good company !!!

      Terrible customer service. They never sealed off our windows, and moister ruined our trim work. They said they would make things right with us but here we are still waiting on something to happen or things to be made right. We might as well sleep with our windows open and continue to waste propane heating the outside. It’s pretty bad when the person comes to check over the work and looks you in the eyes and says yeah “THIS ISN'T RIGHT” no wonder you have air coming in and moister build up. Absolutely terrible company and a waste of our time and 18,000 dollars.

      If I could give zero, I would. This company is a joke. They have really expensive leaky windows and do not care. We have had issues with our windows since they were installed in July of 2022. We woke up today with ice in the inside of our windows and you can physically feel the cold air blasting through. In December of 2022 we had literal snow inside of our house. I tell everyone I know not to use this company.

      We had windows and doors installed and now we can feel air coming through the sides of all of them. In the winter we get frost build up where the air is coming through. I’ve contacted them and they sent someone out twice and the guy that looked at the windows and doors said nothing really like it was normal. I’ve sent photos of the windows and frost where they’re leaking air. We can’t keep our home warm now and it’s costing us more to try to keep our house tolerable. Before our house stayed warm and cool the way it should have. The trim they installed is rubber or a type of plastic. It’s all wavy and looks very terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this company because of all I’ve said along with their customer service. I’m going to get an attorney to get things done right because, this company will just ignore its customers from the way they’ve treated us.

      You have already sent someone to look at the windows and he said he never seen anything like what was installed inside for window trim. It’s been several months since the guy came and still nothing has been done. We have contacted your company and that’s all that’s been done is you sending someone out to look and not do anything about the poor installation and bad materials to trim around the windows your company installed. I’ll contacting a lawyer to get things done the way they should have been done in the first place. Your company is no good. Your people were suppose to also replace a side window because it has dents in it and they put a piece of plywood along the bottom of the front door that is terrible and air blows in all around it. If I had employees that did this kind of work they wouldn’t be employees anymore.

      Buyer be cautious! Worse experience ever. We ended up suing them after the subcontractors they used to install the windows did such a poor job, we had water intrusion which ruined our floors, walls and created a huge mold problem. Mold and water damage caused one of our support beams to be compromised and we had to have it replaced as well as front mason work that came apart from side of house when the walls were destroyed by the water intrusion. We had the windows and doors replaced 3-4 times, they still are in crocked, not level, we have cold air coming in some of the windows yet. We had a restoration company work on repairing all the damage to my house for over 18 months and UWD only paid a portion of the repair costs saying we could sue if we wanted. By this time, I was tired of living in the dirt and debris with no interior walls, no flooring, etc. that I decided to pay the rest of the repairs and be done with my contact with the company. The still have the nerve to send me their JUNK mail on getting work done by them. Would think that they would have removed my name from all mailing lists, but they don't. They used subcontractors which they had lied about. We asked if they did this and they said that they never use subcontractors - a large untruth!! Worse yet, the contractors that did our house were being looked for by detectives in another state for ruining their homes with the installs. This group did not have insurance and UWD never checked any of this info prior to hiring them to do my job. They ruined my siding, put holes in it and overcut the window openings into the siding leaving additional areas for water to intrude so I had to replace siding as well. The water intrusion started with the first rainfall after install and we called the company immediately. We read reviews, talked to people and asked all the right questions prior to hiring and we were lied to by this company. We did have to get an attorney.
