      On Tue. 6/25/24, after windows were delivered to the warehouse I asked how soon they could be installed and was told they would be installed on Fri. 6/28. I gave my credit card # and was told they would call with a time. My 88 year old husband and I began preparing the 4 rooms where windows would be installed. U (Universal Windows) called on 6/26 & said the soonest installation date was 7/1 due to U not putting my charge card through on 6/25. This was my 2nd install date. On 6/27 about 5 pm U called offering a $50 gift card if I would have installation moved up to tomorrow 6/28. I accept the gift card offer & this #3 installation date. My husband and I worked long into the evening to prepare for installation the next day. We moved furniture, removed window shades, blinds, etc. Fri. 6/28 I get a call from U saying the installer had been in an accident but another installer would do installation Sat.6/29. I accept the 4th install date and we to put window shades, beds etc. back in place. Saturday 6/29 we remove window coverings & rearrange furniture in preparation for the installation. We wait & wait and finally call to see why no one had showed up for installation. We get the answering machine telling us U aren’t working on Saturday but to leave a message and someone will get back to us. So our #4 scheduled installation did not happen. It was very difficult for us to prepare for church on Sunday due to furniture, etc. being moved and not in usual location. On Mon. 7/1 U scheduled for Tues. 7/2 & all went well with installation date #5. Universal needs to provide some kind of info (via phone call /text?) regarding when installer will or WON’T arrive. BAD COMMUNICATION w/CUSTOMER SERVICE during installation & after regarding payment amount. I have had no luck trying to get the promised $50 gift card. We hope Universal will stand behind their guaranty on the windows because we know they lack in communication and customer service.

      We went with universal windows because Chris our salesman was very knowledgeable. Phase one:In my daughters room she has two wooden secured shelves nothing heavy or fragile on them but rather than the installers say hey your windows we are removing are older and pretty secure in their how about you come and remove the shelves, they went ahead and ripped them out causing our daughters wall and shelf to be damaged. We reached out to Chris and he had to make a special call to have the company give us a gift card for damage because somewhere in small print in the warranty( we are still trying to find the literature) personal damage is not covered regardless if it is caused by universal windows. The big problem: I started to clean my daughters windows, I am very knowledgeable on how to operate the tilt windows, as I opened the window the entire window came out damaging our wooden floors and wall. The hardware pin which is inside of the window that is used to tilt the window was snapped in two( this could not have been caused by us for the simple fact the amount of pressure you would have to apply would be beyond what we could do. I have videos and pictures. The reason the window fell was not customer error. We contacted customer service and their response was this was not covered because this was from the customer not knowing how to operate, however they will come out and replace the window. Great for us but now we have a damaged floor and wall and the bigger issue you are blaming us but replacing the window because the pin hardware was broke(unclear how this could break) we as the customer are responsible for the floor and wall because the warranty does not cover personal damage( still looking for that in the warranty). Our salesman Chris whom again at the beginning was so kind said there was nothing more he could do for us and passed us along We have all emails with proof and will continue fighting so no one else has to go through this! Do not do business!

      I hired Universal Windows Direct on October of 2022 and my windows were to all be installed in January of 2023, the final window was installed in March of 2024 so almost 1.5 years later I received all my windows, meanwhile they have been here 5 times to do repairs of all windows, either window seals were bad or they were bowed the last time they were here their tech. told us they would not even install them they were worse than the ones installed, they took outside caps off and dumped water out and we have mold now, All started with wrong measurement of windows so they put in smaller windows so more road noise and bigger gaps so they seal with a flat stock tape so we get bigger heating bills in winter and higher electric bills in summer with air going out I no longer trust this company and would like others to know of my problems, company has fired people of this so they say Please do your research about this company I would not give them 1 star but I guess I have to salesman fired, installers fired I was lied to

      The windows are very good quality. The salesman was very thorough and made many good comparisons. The installation was fast and done very well. Everyone was friendly and we got the service well before the date initially stated. Great job guys.

      I purchased windows on 1/10/2024. Salesperson said it should take about 10 to 12 weeks for windows to be installed. Reviewing the contract it said work should start 12 to 14 weeks after signing. So far it's been 22 weeks with no communication. When I call they tell me that they can't give me a date. When I ask for a manager to call me back no one calls. So far I can only give them 1 star for lack of communication. If you're in a hurry for windows don't buy from Universal Windows Direct.
