I have used Booksrun because they offered great prices to sell back my books. My books are brand new, no damage not even a bent spine. I noticed for the past 6 orders that my prices for every books in all my orders were dropped from like new to used. They also gave me less than the price saying my books were damaged.Well, I asked for them proof. They sent proof for one of my latest sell back orders. They sent me 2 pictures. One where I couldn't tell what books were in the package. The other had a basket of books that were not any of my books! They are mishandling my books and lying about it.They lied about the condition of my books! I have photos of every book I sold. They could not even provide me the accurate photos.I will never use them in the future. Don't sell back your books with this dishonest company!I wish I could give them 0 stars ??.Booksrun.com Inc.

We do care about the quality of the books we sell and impose regulations regarding the acceptance of the books. Such regulations are presented in our acceptance criteria as well as Buyback Condition Guide. Price quotes may be adjusted in case the item's condition is different from quoted, which is exactly the matter with your buyback orders. It appears that books were quoted by you in "Used - Like New" condition. Unfortunately some books had their quotes adjusted automatically due to such main reason: we received textbooks with minor signs of wear that did not correspond to the "Used - Like New" condition initially quoted by you.In order to determine which category the textbooks we receive fit, we use Amazon guidelines. The simplified version of those is presented on our website. You may also see our buyback condition guide for more information. Our processing department carefully inspects each and every book and distinguishes the items in accordance with a wide range of features. For these reasons the conditions of the books in question were automatically changed from Used - Like New initially quoted to Used - Very Good and "Used - Good", and their quotes changed accordingly.Please be kindly informed that all our items in Brand New and Used - Like New condition basically come in the same condition, however,note that only the publisher has genuinely "Brand New" copies. In case the item presented was still in someone's possession, but was never used, the book is also marked as "Brand New", but kindly note that such books may come without any packaging or shrink wrap. Please be kindly informed that the company cannot issue payments for books in worse condition thanwhat is stated since such actions could be viewed as fraud or money laundering and it is illegal. I would not recommend selling your used books back to BooksRun. Their website contains a "buyback condition guide" that is vague enough to allow them to underpay you for any minor defect with the book you are attempting to sell, and then they essentially hold your books "hostage" unless you pay them to return the books.I sent in two barely-used books worth about $250 in total (according to their quote) that contained some sparse highlighting. Upon receiving the books, they offered me $130 less than the original quote, stating that they were in "poor condition", even though these books were less than a year old and I was their first owner. I would be fine with asking them to return the books to me and trying to sell them elsewhere, but they wanted to charge me shipping costs to return my books to me- first red flag.The second red flag was that they refused to respond to any of my messages asking for an explanation of why my quote was substantially reduced for minor highlighting. After ignoring me for a week, they kept my books and paid me the reduced rate. It is clear to me that this company's formula is to exploit students looking to sell their books. Horrible customer service (if you can even call it that) and predatory tactics. I'm certain they'll leave some BS response to this review justifying their conduct. I sent back some books to them and they refused to give me my money back because the **** was different even though they were the exact same books... interesting to say the least with that. According to our ******************* items not initially quoted in the order may have their quote adjusted or be not eligible for buyback at all. which is exactly the matter with your buyback order. Once the return of the item is requested, the book within the buyback order is successfully shipped upon the request, which is right within 24 business hours after the return was initiated. We understand how frustrating it may be to pay for shipping of the item back, but please try to understand our position on this matter. We provide prepaid labels for all our buyback orders and lose significant amount on shipping and handling. The return shipping fee of $8.95 for the first book and $3.99 for each item thereafter includes: 1) shipping from customer's address to our processing facility; 2) shipping from the processing facility to the customer's address; 3) handling; 4) packaging. We hope this information gives the understanding of our policy on returns. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that we indeed always keep our clients updated with our confirmation letters concerning the issues with the books, therefore, you were notified regarding the quote adjustment via email.Nevertheless, we appreciate your reporting the insurance matter to us. They stole 4 medical textbooks from me claiming "counterfeit". Like anyone will believe 4 different large distributors all sold fake books at the same time. They then banned my account with zero communication and updated their inventory in each of those books to one more than than last week.Booksrun.com Inc.

We have no doubts that there was no intention to deceive us from your side, therefore, once you contacted us, our representative provided a detailed explanation of the issue in question. The images clarifying the counterfeit detection points were provided as proof of our words and indication of our honesty. We do take the matter with counterfeit items very seriously as trafficking in such items is a violation of US legislation and, unfortunately, sometimes we have to suspend cooperation and block the users' accounts who are seen as the suppliers of the counterfeit goods. Nevertheless, we do believe that counterfeit items were sent by you unknowingly.
Regrettably, the payment for counterfeit books could not be processed as per obligations imposed by the publishers such items are subject to disposal in order to prevent further distribution. We hope that the matter with those items can be resolved as a refund may be requested from the sellers who initially sold counterfeit copies.

Terrible customer service and experience. I had some books I sold to them and after I sent them in they notified me they were only going to give me about 40% of their original quoted price, or if I wanted them back, I could pay shipping to get them back. WHAT A SCAM, DO NOT BUY OR SELL FROM HERE, THEY WILL CHEAT YOU. Your buyback order #******* was processed in accordance with the existing Terms & Conditions, which implies that books with a condition that does not correspond to the one initially stated, get their quotes adjusted. According to the policy each customer agrees to be bound by, items with excessive water damage *** have their quote adjusted or be not eligible for buyback at all. One of the items within your order had water damage and liquid stains of unknown origin throughout the book, please kindly note that the images showcasing damage were also provided. The quote was adjusted in accordance to our guidelines.
Your order was placed "On Hold" for 7 days so that you could either accept the quotes or decline them and have the items shipped back to your address. The notifications regarding the condition of the books received and the opened disputes were sent to your email address. During this time, it was possible to request the return of the disputed item after the compensation of the shipping fee. Once you contacted us, our representative provided a detailed explanation of the issue in question. In further correspondence our representative offered a free return of the book in question, but this offer was declined.
Since no decision was made in the order details, the adjustment was accepted automatically by our system and the order was reprocessed on 04/16/2023. At this point, according to our Terms and Conditions (section "Buyback", subsection "Shipping and Returns"), the item of the order is no longer eligible for a return under any circumstances, since it has been processed and paid for.
The order was processed and the payment was issued by check as requested.
The opportunity to insure the package was provided during order placement, as we do offer the insurance for buyback orders with value higher no more than $300 that *** be purchased manually. However, the insurance was not purchased, which implies that their initial quote could not be restored.

This particular condition implies that there may be minor signs of wear; however, all the text should be legible and all pages included. A well-cared-for item that has seen limited use and remains in good working condition. Pages with markings and/or highlighting may be present. Thus, books with slight cosmetic defect and slight markings do fall into this category.
We understand how frustrating it may be to receive a damaged item, however, we always inform our customers about the condition of items to purchase by leaving an appropriate description in listings. Our processing department carefully inspects each and every book before they are sent to our customers and after they are received at our processing facility, and distinguishes the items condition in accordance with a wide range of features.
The first time you reached out to us was on 03/28/2023, concerning the condition of the book, our representative requested images of the book in question to prevent such issues in the future and offered a 15% refund which was declined accordingly. In further correspondence, you were offered a 30% discount on the transaction to make up for the inconvenience, but as this offer appeared to be inappropriate for you either. Thus, return guidelines were provided to the contact email address you used to reach out to us. Unfortunately, we have not heard back from you with your decision, neither have we received a desirable resolution. We are always eager to cooperate and resolve any issues our values customers might have. It can be considered as a refusal to cooperate, since no opposite intentions were expressed.
