Since Astound took over WOW the actual service and technical support have and been terrible. The internet is out of service more than it is operable. I have placed numerous calls to technical support with no resolution. A technician actually came to our home, found an issue, said he needed a part, left, and never returned! And now, not only is our internet not functioning, cable service to our television is not functioning. Do not contract with Astound.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Astound Broadband effectively provided false advertising to us in May 2022. We noted that Astound had a deal for internet for $44.99 per month with a $200 gift card after a couple of months of service. We had the service set up through our utility provider using our own modem/router and called multiple times prior to the scheduled installation date to confirm that the amount and benefits agreed to above were accurate. The day of our scheduled installation, Astound cancelled our setup without any advance notice when we really needed functional service as of that day.We receive the first **** and see that they have not only charged us $49.99 per month, but also $12 in additional fees that were not described in the contract terms. We called multiple times to request that the agreed upon monthly rate and benefits would be reinstated, and they provided multiple different responses as to why we were not eligible, including that 1) we did not sign up directly online for ourselves (though our utility company did on our behalf) and 2) didn't use their equipment), which was not stated as a term to make us ineligible for the rate. When we asked for them to review our call record over the last 2 months, they were consistently not able to find anything, which seems disingenuous given they record all inbound calls. Overall, we are very disappointed with the overall poor customer service and lack of transparency ******************** has provided us with regard to our service, and feel that their advertising on deals was highly misleading.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

They installed my cable June 14th 2022 and ran the cable through my elderly neighbors patio furniture, up a tree to be tied, then ran at about a foot off the ground at tripping height to the utility box. It is now late July and I haven't gotten any signs that this is going to be resolved.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Astound Broadband sucks! From Dec 2021-May 2022my monthly **** for unlimited phone w/calling features, high speed internet 250 and enhanced voicemail has been $83.58. My **** on 5/1/22 was $83.58 (billing for 5/1-5/31/22). I received another **** dated 5/26/22 (billing for 5/23-6/22/22) total $143.73. The **** dated 5/26/22 had various credits and then the final total was $101.24. I received another **** on 6/23/22 in the amount of $119.11. Breakdown of services-5/1/22-unlimited phone w/calling features- $10.00,High speed internet- $49.95,enhanced voicemail- $5.00, taxes $, total 83.58.5/26/22-bundled services $0,high speed internet - $79.95,digital phone - $34.95,calling features $5.00,enhanced voicemail - $5.00, taxes $, total $143.73 w/multiple credits $101.24 6/23/22-high speed internet $59.95,digital phone- $20.00 (this included enhanced vm & unlimited phone),one time charges- $19.50 (overage on data usage), taxes, total $119.11 this included late fee because I had Covid and was late paying ****. I called customer service on 7/12/22 and asked WHY my billing is changing from month to month. I do not do anything differently, I've worked from home for 3 years. I was told I went over on my data usage this month and it is capped at a certain amount (I've never seen this charge before). However, I could buy up to the next level if I want to pay more money. I wanted to talk to a supervisor to file a complaint. He stated he would put in a formal complaint, and have a supervisor call me. I have not received a call. This is my second call to Astound regarding billing issues. At the end of May our phone was shut off for about a week. I have been told by various people it wasn't Astound. However, when it finally came back on, I had to call them because I couldn't get into vm. I was informed my 4digit code now had to be 6. I have lost all calling features. No caller id, no blocked #... STOP RAISING THE MONTHLY PRICING!Astound Broadband powered by RCN

I am not satisfied with this answer. While it's great you want to give me a more affordable package, this did not address my issues of my monthly billing amount changing (3 months in a row), my services being taken away without notifying me while continuing to raise the price or the fact that you shut my landline off for a week and no-one is taking responsibility for this issue. My next step is to contact the *** about your business practices. I have spoken to 3 other people who have had the same issues.Review fromRuth R.

RCN is by far the worst internet company I've ever used. The representatives make it that much worst to do business with. Not only is the internet itself slow n crappy. The bills are horrendous..STAY AWAY. Affordable, stable service..BULL CRAP! RCN please don't respond, the money you've stole from me. I don't even wanna hear back from you ever again! I am calling the cancelation department in the morning and returning my boxes the same day. RCN need to add some more techs you should not have to wait a whole week for your internet to be fixed. I got to wait till my service is back on I cant done nothing. All because of old equipment that they dont upgrade. I had the equipment for about 8 years then it blew up on me now I have to wait till Monday till its fixed. This company has horrible customer service. They take your information down and say someone will get back to you in a few days - no one ever calls back and I have to call them and start the process all over. My issue started on April 23, 2022 - no internet service. To make a long story short they said I can give you internet but I have to disconnect my phone and someone will need to come out to check the lines. It is now July 11, 2022 and probably had 5 technicians come out and still no phone service. I call and they send out a technician and the same old story that another person needs to come out - building inspector came out twice so they say but no one knows their findings. This account is my moms who is 94 years old and has been with RCN for over 20 years - if we could switch I would in a heartbeat but because she lives in a condo we have to go with them. Like I said my mom is 94 and likes to have a land line. The last technician was out July 1,2022 and suggested the building go Fiber optic and we wouldnt have this problem. He said you have internet and cable but the signal is low - I said yes I know because my internet goes out sometimes and there are channels I cant get because the signal is low. I was happy with AT & T internet and phone. RCN had a bundle that the condo association went with. As they say you get what you pay for.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

The RCN supervisor was here last week and set up a work order with condo management to get into some of the units to see where the problem was coming from. This was set up for today July 20 - 9am-12 pm. Everyone who needed to be notified was. I was told by maintenance that RCN was here but left because he couldnt get in one of the other units above - but the units above were not on the list. This has been going on since April 23 - 3 months - my mom who is 94 years old doesnt have a land line because there is not enough signal for cable, internet and phone. My internet drops and my cable freezes and volume hoes out for a few seconds. Tv channels that I used to get I cant get because signal is poor. RCN had crappy service / when you call the company no one knows whats going on with your account and you have to explain everything all over again.Review fromBen K

Can't seem to talk to anyone! My internet works but freezes. Their automatic support wants me to restart my modem WHICH IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I want a person to talk to and THERE IS NO ONE!!! i will be checking around for other providers. RCN rebranded themselves as Astound and it must be because they're service is so astoundingly horrible. They constantly increase prices and add bogus charges to your account. On two separate occasions I've had to contact customer service about wrong charges and when I try to ask about why it was charged, the agent gets short with me and eventually just removes the charge. But they never explain WHY the charge was even there. The first charge was almost $100 for a service visit which never happened. The second charge was for internet service 2 days after my last day of service and 5 days after my equipment had been turned off. My only assumption is that they add these charges on to customers **** in the hopes people don't see and pay them. No ISP is angelic but RCN/Astound truly go out of their way to be awful.Astound Broadband powered by RCN
