Two guys rang my 90 year old mother's doorbell. She understood them to be 'the cable company'. She did not know RCN was now Astound and the guys did not mention RCN so she assumed they were from ******** The two men proceeded to extract information from her; name, phone number, date of birth. When they asked for her mother's maiden name she figured something wasn't right and told them she was not interested. She called me when she got a text for an appointment to upgrade her service. After I confirmed with ******* they were not arriving with a upgrade to her service I have instructed her not to let anybody in the house. Surely this is high pressure tactics exercised upon a 90 year old woman and Astound should be ashamed to let people using those tactics out selling in their name.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Last June 2021 we left ******* for RCN for a lower rate which totaled $152.73. That rate was supposed to be fixed until now (June 2022). However, in Dec 2021, 6 months later, they raised the rate to $163.57. We just received our July **** for $243.17 - over $90 higher than one year ago! And the service has been substandard. Frequent freezes on the ** with "video loading" appearing. My husband has had to call RCN/Astound several times to get this corrected. Needless to say, we are going to look for another company.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Ive be a customer of theirs well ********************** now ******************************************* for 25 years and my **** is astronomically high I should be grandfathered in somehow not paying these high prices. My cable **** is way higher than my electric **** electric is a necessity cable is not and they have the nerve to charge you a fee to pay your **** on line the nerve of them. I was looking over my **** Im paying $95.36 over and above my cable tv an internet service. Im paying $21.82 for sports programming surcharge I dont even watch their sports package or subscribe to it so why am I paying for this. I would like someone to explain half of these charges us poor tv watchers are paying all these extra charges for. Its absolutely ridiculous. I just so fed up with our cable bills constantly going up and up and up who do these people think they are gods???? I just wish someone could slap them down a peg or two and put them in their place with us poor tv watchers. ***********************Astound Broadband powered by RCN

I was promised 2/ 5/7 months free . But nothing the full **** comes and When I call they tell me the sales person needs to put a special code in and the sales person wont return calls, so Im stuck. And , there doesnt seem to be anyone in charge of direct sales people to get them to do their job . So hours of wasted time , both mine and customer service that try to help .. I deducted the amount promised and now they are cutting off serviceAstound Broadband powered by RCN

RCN advertised in 2021 and beginning of 2022 that they would provide 1GIG of internet for $34.99/month with two months of free service and $250 gift card. I signed up for service on 1/18/22. The customer rep told me I would get 2nd and 5th month free and receive a gift card by e-mail from ***************. I am getting 940 Mbps of internet as offered so I never questioned what was on my account. Apparently, they put 500 Mbps and now tell me I do not qualify. I do pay $34.99/month as in the offer and actually get 1 GIG Mbps but because they put 500 Mbps on the ****, I cannot get a gift card. I would not order service if I was aware of this trick.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Internet , ********** works as expected 90% of the time and outages for maintenance during non peak hours are fine. I am a Low income Household with two disabled people paying $210 a month. We are required by law to use our Landline to call in our hours. We have been a customer with our ********************** provider since before Wide Open West became WOWway and Now Astound Broadband Powered by RCN. Astound continues to provide reliable service. Our Service is One Dedicated Digital Cable Line and One Dedicated Internet and Phone Line . 500 down 50 up Astound Cable let me know I could Use My Own hardware upon acknowledging that their is an issue allowing me to access the Modem/Router and even told me what type and model I needed to buy. I bought my Own Hardware and called today to get it hooked up . Something I have done in the Past without issue " HOWEVER NOW " . I'm ready to Use my Own Hardware however it seems my Account has been put into some sort of " LIMBO " where If I choose to Use My OWN hardware I would need to forfeit my Current plan . Even tho I have the Exact Same Model plus a tech would need to install new hardware since we use a Phone Line . I'm now out $120 USD for my own equipment upon being told by customer care there would be no issue , Yes I ASKED 1st ! RCN told me My Account will not be available for any type of Service UPGRADE or DOWNGRADE until we Submit to their terms by forfeiting our Current Plan .
