Too bad there are not less than zero stars to give. My **/heat went out on the coldest weekend of the year. After FINALLY getting someone on the phone they said I had to go with their recommended provider. Trouble shooting and reporting back for over 2 weeks they confirmed what another ** company said which was I needed a new system. Service plus said I needed more out of pocket tests which would come to the same conclusion. My unit was shot and I needed a new system if I wanted ** or heat. No brainer so we went ahead and I paid in full for a whole new system. They finally said they would give me back between $435-$535 (every time a different amount) but I never saw a dime from Service Plus and neither did the ** company for my $7100 unit that should have been covered. After over 20 phone calls during a 3 month period, each time getting a different answer, I finally decided to go to small claims court warning them several times in advance of what I was going to do. Only after filing I got a voice mail back but when I tried to call them back again there was no one to take the call. I will agree with all the 5 star ratings on salesmanship (which is why i purchased) but if you ever want to be reimbursed for anything just forget it. Read the 1 star reviews and you will get the whole picture. Maybe this is why they had to change their name but obviously not their practices.Review fromDon M

We signed up for a home warranty plan but decided after reading the coverage that it did not cover the way we were led to believe. We were charged $****** to our credit card. When i called to cancel they advised it would take 15 to 30 days to refund our money. We are now being charged a finance charge on top of the ****** that they have not refunded. I don't ******** days is acceptable due to now it's costing us more money for them taking their time. If there were a zero rating I would give them a zero. Thank you for your helpReview fromCarroll P

They will not cover what they say they will, I filed 3 request with them and they turned all 3 down. I was told no matter how old a item is it is covered but not the case. hard to reach a person on the phone. Worst home warranty companyReview fromSan S

I was provided with reimbursement cheque once I reached out to their dispute mediation team. Dispute mediation team was quick to resolve my issue and I got my cheque in 15days. It was a bit disappointing that it took me 1 year to get reimbursed, but I am glad that dispute mediation team was very quick to solve this for me.Review fromTrish W

Do not do business with this company. I had to select a star for rating so it shows 1, I would not have any stars for review rating 05.27.21 reported garbage disposal not working, had to have the contractor reassigned, one showed up at the house and called Affordable Home Warranty and had them on speaker, they wanted to know the cost for him to repair, they refused to pay his amount and he told him he was not going to do the job and left my house saying good luck getting this fixed or your money. Affordable Home Warranty agreed to provide a check for us to have the repair done in the amount of $300.00, I have never received the check over a year later.08.27.21 reported my washing machine not working, the contactor called me and diagnosed the repair over the phone with what I described, he was located in Virginia, I am in ************ **, he said he would have a repair man come out, no one came and he told me he was not going to do the repair because this company owed him money, he told me good luck getting this fixed or my money. Affordable Home Warranty agreed to provide a check for us to have the repair done in the amount of $250.00, I have never received the check and it is now 11 months later.I have called many times, the answer I get is "I see you are on the list to receive a check". I asked to speak to billing or a manager and was told "supervisors do not take calls and this is as far as I can get".We have had both items repaired and terminated our contact.Review fromStephen P.

This Home Warranty Company is ridiculous . I have submitted 4 claims all of which have been closed and I am still waiting on payment of $650.00 for 3 claims. The 1st claim was submitted in 4/09/2021, 2nd 5/19/2021, 3rd 9/6/2021.. I have been calling and speaking to a rep since June of 2021 asking when I will be re-imbursed for the claims and I get the same response. They admit I am due for reimbursement and I will receive a check within the next month. I never receive a check and call again and again monthly. I have e-mails and voicemails from them stating they have escalated my issues to their billing office so I will receive my funds since November 2021 in regards to the claims. Now they still say I am due the funds but they only send out checks on Friday in batches from there office and I'll get them when my claims come ** in their batches to be sent. It's been well over a full year since my first claim has not been reimbursed. Also the fourth claim I submitted 11/24/2021 I was credited a free future service call because I had to pre pay for a virtual visit but I fixed my furnace before the call. This is the worst Home Warranty company I have ever dealt with. I have put in two claims. One for the **** and the other for the dishwasher. With each claim there was something not covered. How can you fix an **** when it is blowing hot air instead cold air Freon was leaking out of the ****. I paid $350 for the leakage test. Second claim was the dishwasher. Dishwasher same thing covered the drain pump but not the pipe leading to the garbage disposal. Nothing is really covered! I made the mistake of paying in full the amount for a three year contract. I asked for a refund for the remainder of the contract, I was told they could not get a refund. The cancellation clause states: If this Agreement is canceled after thirty (30) days, you shall be entitled to a pro rata refund at the standard contract fee rate for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee for each unused term and any service costs (including, but not limited to, any good will payments or settlement payments made to you) incurred by us. In the event this Agreement is canceled any free months offered will be removed from the prorated refund amount. If we have provided services and the amount of the service costs incurred by us is greater than the contract fees paid, then no refund will be due to you. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.Review fromTom R

The company does not provide the actual warranty until after you pay. I paid and when I received the warranty and reviewed it, nothing of significance was covered and the company retained full rights to repair rather than replace parts. Called and cancelled and a manager answered, he offered to cut the payment by 1/3rd and also to raise the limits covered. After 2 weeks of not having the credit card payment repaid in full I had to file a dispute with my credit card (always a headache) and emailed the company regarding filing a BBB dispute with no reply. Company is a fraud. Would give zero stars if possible. Extreme caution for anyone considering this company.Review fromVijay K

I was suppose to get a check for $145 . they told me thata I was approved on January 10, 2022. I called end of January and every month since then. I am told ' the check will be issues next week".
