Worst experience ever with a business. They rescheduled my build 3 times before putting it up. The install crew were short a piece of metal back at the beginning of June and the entire back of the building lower part is missing. They didn’t have enough brown roofing so they put a piece of red metal on the roof. It leaks under the rails. I called they said it would be after the July 4th holiday, they called twice and rescheduled for 31 July (which is today) and they could not get a hold of their repair person, and promised me that they would be there tomorrow to fix all the issues with my building. I am not going to hold my breath on it happening. I wish I never purchased this building as all I am getting is the run around. Worst business ever!!!Custom Built Structures Inc.

When the building was finished, the legs of the lean-to, and header was bare with painted weld marks showing. There was no siding installed over this. While the building looked immaculate, the legs and header was a total eye-sore. I contacted the manufacturer and they had a very rude and nasty guy call me back. He would hardly let me get a word in edgewise due to constant interrupting me after he asked questions. I told him that I was unhappy with the aesthetics of the lean-to legs and header as it had spots of spray paint across it. He stated that it was standard practice and never had a complaint about it. He also said that it was only my opinion that it did not look good. So, his solution was to either have someone come out and polish it, or have the siding installed. Both options were roughly $450-$500.There was NO option to do anything that didn't involve me spending more money. He did say that he was heavily discounting the price. What let me know that he was a rookie and did not know much about what he was selling is that this metal is galvanized and could not be polished or else it would cause rusting. Aesthetics apparently mean nothing to this company. After he repeatedly interrupted me, I told him that I would hang up on him if he did not stop. He quickly and angrily let me know that if I hung up on him, he would have the installer take my building apart and bring it back. I never once stated that I was not going to pay them. He repeated over and over the threat of repossession. This company is only out for the almighty dollar and could care less about customer satisfaction. It was not about the money but about the principle of taking pride in one's product. This guy on the phone had an answer for everything and an excuse for his company having any responsibility of poor aesthetics. The fact of non-matching supports was of no interest to him. He said it was my problem and not theirs. His poor attitude only made me more angry as we spoke.Custom Built Structures Inc.

Dear ****,First and foremost, we want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and dissatisfaction you've experienced in your interaction with our team. It's clear from your review that the level of service you received was not up to our standards, particularly in terms of communication. We're genuinely sorry for any rudeness or misunderstanding that occurred during your conversation with our representative.Regarding the aesthetics of the lean-to legs and header, we understand your concerns about the exposed galvanized steel tubing. Our steel carport covers are designed with durability and functionality in mind, and as such, they come standard with galvanized steel tubing exposed unless additional siding or trim options are selected. This design choice is made clear in our product descriptions and is a common practice within the industry to ensure the longevity and integrity of the structure. We recognize that the appearance of bare metal may not meet every customer's aesthetic preferences, which is why we offer the option for additional siding or trim at an extra cost. It's important to us that our customers are aware of these options at the time of purchase to make an informed decision that best suits their needs and expectations. It's also worth noting that galvanized steel tubing is specifically chosen for its resistance to rust and corrosion, and applying a coating or attempting to polish this material can indeed compromise its protective qualities. We aim to provide this information to ensure our customers make choices that will not adversely affect the durability of their structure. We regret any implication that your concerns were not taken seriously or that the only solutions offered involved additional costs. Our intention is always to work with our customers to find satisfactory resolutions within the constraints of our product design and material specifications.Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to improve our customer service and communication. We take pride in our products and truly aim to ensure customer satisfaction in every aspect of our business. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and again, we apologize for the experience you've had. We are committed to learning from this situation and making necessary improvements.Review fromNelson c

We ordered a 24 x 35 building, the building came sooner than expected, and the installation went very smooth. The installers did a great job, and they were very professional. We are very excited about this building. Thanks so much! ************* ******Custom Built Structures Inc.

I purchased a building from Custom Built Structures roughly 5 months ago. The building is going to be my families home and the business know this from the beginning of my time with them. My building is quite large and the cost was a little over $75,000.00 for just the structure. I was told not to use the companies insulation that was offered. He advised that I use spray foam insulation instead. He said the company offers spray foam but because I am so far away, I will need to hire someone closer to me. The windows of my building are leaking from being seal improperly. When the company first came out, they did not seal an entire entire section of windows. They told me they wouldn’t help me. I left a review for them on Google and I received a call the following week. They would come take a look but I had to take down my review. When they came they explained the windows had not been sealed. They put sealant only at the top edge of the windows and left. Of course the windows still leak and once again they are telling me they will not help me. They are blaming the leaks on spray foam insulation. These windows are cased in 12ga steel. Spray foam (that they also install) will not move steel. Spray foam is used on buildings every day. They do not stand behind their product and they do not care how much money you spend. Once they have installed a building, the quality doesn’t matter. You are on your own.Custom Built Structures Inc.

We appreciate your feedback and we understand your frustration regarding the issues with your building. Please know that we value your business and take all customer concerns seriously. However, we would like to clarify that the leaks are not due to any fault in the installation of the building itself but are instead a result of the improper installation of spray foam insulation by a third party after our initial installation. The spray foam caused the panels to expand and created gaps that were not present when the building was first installed. We have been out to your site on multiple occasions to try and rectify the issue but unfortunately, the problem persists due to the spray foam insulation. We always strive to provide the best service possible and stand behind our products, however, in this instance, the issue is not related to our workmanship or the quality of our product. We hope that this explanation provides some clarity and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to assist you. Best regards, Custom Built Structures, Inc.
