They will give you cars when theres issues theres always oil changes that need to be done that they dont cracked and they wont give you any kind of refund for the inconvenience. Ive had one car that was low on coolant and again they do not give you any kind of refund or anything. I called customer service to complain. They stated that a manager will call me back. No one calls you back. You can wait weeks and no ones ever going to call you. They promise you certain amount of money as a refund and they will not pay you. So youre stuck with so many issues with it and they dont take care of customers, but they will have no problem grabbing all your money. Ive spoke to customer multiple times. They are rude. They dont take care of anything and again Ive spoke to different multiple customer service representatives. They said theyre going to send a message in a manager call the next day But they never do. Its all a show. There are so many car rental places that actually care about their customers other than ********************

I rented a car from Alamo for the Memorial Day Weekend in *************. I prepaid the gas as I was returning the car to ************* and the gas there was much more money. I paid the $49.39 prepay amount. After I returned the car and received my invoice, they charged me $187.49 for the gas! They reduced the $187.49 by $130 but remember I prepaid the gas and shouldn't have any gas charge. I'm out $57.49 and while that isn't a lot of money, multiply that by several thousand costumers and it's very profitable for Alamo. I called customer service twice now and I keep getting the " my system isn't working" excuse. They say they are going to contact me in a few days when in reality they are going to wear me out till I give up and give in. I wish Amazon rented cars. This would have been resolved the first day.

I purchased a car from Alamo in *******. They asked if i wanted the gas option i told them no, they still added it. Someone reached out to apologize about the mistake and said they would credit my account back. After 10 business days i reached back out to see where my refund was and they continued to give me the run around. Someone named ***** reached out and said although they see the refund they would not be returning my money basically. I asked to speak with someone higher than her and she place another manager on the phone who hung up in my face. I called back and asked why he hung up and he respond i said ima have someone call you. I advised him to do so and we hung up again. A minute letter he called me back and stated that he would refund me like 95 dollars and i would receive it in 1 business day. I still havent seen my money. Now Im just in limbo tryna figure out the best route to get my money back to me.

Set up a car rental through alamo online in **************************************, was billed $308 CAD on the email and receipt.Arrived at destination after 12 hour flight at 0100 in the morning, was shuttled to car rental place where they told me the actual cost would now be $823 Canadian, they refused to even look at the price I was quoted and said "I could just leave". I was basically stranded at the location at 1 in the morning with no other options. The vehicle they ended up renting to me was supposed to be full of gas, it was less than half a tank. They also added two extra insurance options that I asked not to be added which increased the price by another $200. Do not rent from them, they are scamming people by giving them low quotes then when people are shuttled to their location raising the prices and leaving them stranded.

By far the worst car rental business I have ever used! We rented a 15 passenger van in *******. Upon returning to the airport, my husband accidentally dropped his phone between the seats when pulling in. As we parked in the return area, we scrambled to get kids and luggage out and forgot about the phone. We noticed about 5 minutes after leaving the rental and my husband ran back down. From there we were given the run around. We were told there was nothing that could be done by multiple Alamo employees and by the *****#. We could clearly see the phone was still in the van, by tracking it on my phone. Whoever the return attendants were refused to assist, say we had to speak with the manager. The manager said we had to go back down and see the attendant. Literally told to go in circles. Finally the attendant gave my husband a list and found number after a hour of trying to seek help (and almost missing our flight). Absolute worst customer service we ever experienced. We will never rent from Alamo again.

I would give Alamo zero stars if that is an option due to their handling of lost items. The recovery people and customer service did nothing to aide me in loss recovery, and I could not speak to anyone at the ************** Alamo location where we rented/returned the vehicle (no phone number). We left a cell phone in the car that we could track (until the battery died) so we could see it at the ****** location, but there was no way to communicate that to anyone. Then the car was rented out (the phone location moved when tracking). If it is not returned to ******, there is no way we will be able to retrieve it because a loss report will not be filed at that new location and Alamo will not tell me where the current driver is returning car. Good bye phone even though I could have gotten it if an Alamo employee would have grabbed it right away (as the person cleaning the car missed it).

I wont go into all the details but I highly recommend Alamo!!! We were in a jam when we landed and the girls working the counter were helpful, caring, friendly and understanding!!! They helped us get on the road and on our way ! Unfortunately they only had a truck left so we took it ! I brought my sister back to the airport on Thursday and I didnt fly out until the following Monday! I went in and asked if we could trade it in for something as I was not comfortable driving the truck (my sister had done all the driving) They were very sympathetic and understanding and got me and my 90 year old grandma in a nice little suv and on our way ! I was so appreciative and overwhelmed by their caring and helpful attitude!! ************** rocks and were the best ! Thank you again girls for all your help!! I didnt get the gentleman name but I guess he helped my grandma out of the truck while I was inside and that was awesome!!! Keep up the great work!! By the way you were $60 cheaper than a competitor!!!

I rented a premium crossover vehicle from Alamo through ****** Travel from November 14th thru November 24th. The rental was at the ******************** location. I filled out the "skip the counter" info that was emailed to me before picking up the vehicle. The requested info was Driver license number, information for any drivers, and credit card info. The directions were skip the counter and go directly to where the cars are parked and pick any one you want that is parked in a spot marked premium, the keys will be in the vehicle and proceed to the exit. I went to the designated area and there was only one car parked in any of those five spaces, so I took the only car available. I went to the exit booth to leave the rental lot, was checked out by the attendant. She never said anything to me that I had the wrong car. The vehicle was picked up and returned on the dates and times of the rental agreement. I was charged $815.90 instead of the rental agreement charge of $446.30, an overcharge of $369.60. I called the location several times, and was told the facility manager would call me. I never received a call back. Then called again, and was told the District Manager would get in touch with me, that never happened either. I have disputed this additional charge with my c/c company and Alamo is stating that I chose a higher priced car. I chose the only car that was parked in the premium area. If I chose the wrong car then it is because Alamo parked it in the wrong space (I am now assuming they must not have had the class of car that I rented available). I do not work for Alamo and do not know the different cars available in each class. If I had the wrong car then the check out person that reviewed my paperwork should have addressed the issue. When I returned the car the person that checked me out also confirmed the pricing of 446.30.This Alamo location is in the bait and switch business. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!

The staff checking me in is always friendly. The customer service team falls way short of that and is the reason for the poor review. They have a ********* of ****** and the boast about ******************************* The first time I called the agent said a supervisor would call me back. Never happened. The second customer service agent **** a line in the sand and wasn't willing to even hear me out. We had an unusual emergency situation occur and they didn't care. I was an Alamo Insider (Loyalty Program)..... I was.

The company swapped the style of vehicle on ** which meant we had to cram 4 adults and their weeks worth of luggage in an audi which was unpleasant to say the least. The fluids and gas were not checked or topped off, however, they did refund $15 for that. They also don't inform well on the excessive fees for their "convenience tolls" policy which worked out to double our toll fees.
