  The Tax Group has an employee Eric who is suppose to do taxes in a timely manner. We dropped our tax information off at the end of February and expected them to be done by April 15th but when the day came up they were not done. He supposedly filed an extension and as of August 15th still did not have them done. In between April and August we made weekly calls to find out what was holding things up and they were never returned. My husband went in person several times to discuss the situation but Eric was not working. I managed to call him and he told me the taxes would be done by June 5th but when I tried to call to pick them up the calls went to voicemail and were never returned from him. This is unprofessional conduct for a tax accountant and should not be tolerated by anyone and I hope the CPA Society of Nebraska looks into this individual! Needless to say we needed to find another person who truly wanted our business! ( Eric needs a 0 star rating the program made me chose a 1 for the review.)

  I have been literally fighting with h and r block preparer for mine and deceased son taxes mine are 3 yrs worth and my son one yrs. I have went round and round with customer service and have 10 escalated numbers but preparer keeps changing my information so corporate and or district management can get ahold tried to contact the nearest office open kanas and that preparer is also only one Terry Goode out of Pueblo office haa been trying to help me recover my information and hard copies of w2 that another office and preparer is literally because I refuse to use that preparer because she is a relative this preparer relative keeps hand block administrators from contacting which h and r block should all of mine and my deceased son filing fees money from refunds I could of used for my Son burial...VERY ANGRY IM GOING TO A LAWYER NOW

  As a former employee, I have been trying unsuccessfully for over three years to get HR Block to stop calling me to see if I want to be rehired. I block phone numbers and emails when that opportunity exists, but often it does not. I got a call yesterday from the District Manager and told her this. Her response? “Well, you’ve never said it to me.” And today another simultaneous email and text from someone new. Can the BBB help stop this harassment?

  H&R has been preparing our returns for several years, however the office experience in the California office in West Seattle has been far from than pleasant. After a few years of seeing a specific preparer, we asked to switch due to their unprofessionalism (they spent a good majority of time complaining about other clients). This behavior was not disclosed to H&R, however we did not expect our new preparer to be so quick to file our return (in FEBRUARY), that it was submitted without returning the forms with our signatures and obtaining clear answers to pending questions. We left their office with items to complete and, while reviewing what was sent home with us, a couple of weeks passed, then WITHOUT ANY NOTICE an email prompted that the IRS accepted our return? When asked why the return was submitted, H&R replied that, as existing customers "our signatures were on file" and since payment was made, it was considered done. An email was sent to the office manager with several questions. They reviewed the return, and found no errors, but that did not answer the specific inquiries. We are still waiting on any response to our unanswered inquires, as these should have been discussed PRIOR to submitting the return and/or may potentially have impacted the results of the return? Copies of missing pages were also requested and not provided. Due to the multiple requests for a reply and still receiving no answers, considering filling a misconduct affidavit with the IRS.

  They stoled my money. Got two deposited from the same company for over two years and they started holding my money for over 72 hours after the made a case
  My case number is 21211646. Can't feed my kids off emails made to some back off that takes your money.

  I was charged 3 times by the irs because of the way my taxes were filed by the agent. We called the IRS together to figure out the reason that they made a $2200.00 over charge to my bank account. The IRS agent told me that she had filed my amendment wrong. She argued with him until he was angry. He told me I would have to wait 90 days to get my money back. I gave my bank transcript to her to put in my file but she did not put it into my folder. I waited to hear back from her about some sort of compensation but she never followed up on any of it. I then talked to her manager who told me she was no longer working there and there was no copy of my bank statement. I got another statement to put in my file so she could talk to her manager. She agreed that I should be compensated. I never got a call back from her either. I then talked to the district manager and she said I had agreed to the price when I signed it and I would not be refunded any of my $200.00 that I was charged to do my taxes. She was rude and I was without my money for 3 months.

  I paid h and r block for a professional to help with my taxes so I did not have issues filing like I did for the 2022 year. I paid that professional 800$ so a professional could file my taxes and they messed them up, now I still have not received my state taxes and they refuse to take accountability. I would never pay for help with my taxes if I knew they'd put me in a worse spot than I was refund wise. It's unacceptable for them to make you pay for a service they can not complete correctly

  H&R Block has been doing my taxes for over 25 years. I retired four years ago, I was not told I would need to estimate my state and federal taxes at retirement. Instead Block was just adding the penalty for not estimating quarterly on to my taxes due at the end of the year. I trusted H&R Block and did not notice the penalty was added on, until this year when the state sent me a bill for the penalty. I was told today by their tax professional that they were not allowed to add the state tax penalty on this 2023 year. I have been giving away money by paying this penalty fee and not knowing it. H&R Block is not standing behind me on this issue and said it is up to me to pay it. Why should I pay H&R Blocks high fees when they are letting me pay penalties year after year and I didn't know it.

  HR Block failed to file my 2022 year taxes. Even after I paid for the tax prep. I never recieved any notification that my taxes had not been filed. After bringing it to their attention, an HR block representative offered to fix the situation. After a year, my taxes 2022 taxes were submitted and HR Block agreed to pay for not only the failure to pay but the interest and penalties that accumulated during the time. After submitting a claim HR Block only reimbursed me for the Failure to pay. They went against their agreement. The process has been frustrating. I will NEVER use this company or refer ones to use HR Block in the future. Moreover, I will discourage anyone who is considering doing business with them.
