  We highly recommend Custom Basements of New England. They built an ~880ft2 Auxiliary Dwelling Unit (***) as well as another ~400ft2 semi-finished utility space in our basement. The *** is a full two bedroom appt with an eat-in kitchen, bathroom, and family room. The results were not only great, but they were far better than we had expected. With the high quality work coupled with extra windows and egresses cut into the foundation and masonry/slate steps to the two entrances it does not feel like a basement apartment at ****** selecting Custom Basements, we read most of the reviews **** provided and talked to several of them. Our positive review is consistent with the many other positive experiences. They were not the cheapest, but the quoted cost was on par with the other quotes we got from qualified companies. At this point, we feel that the value delivered was far better than the alternatives. Everyone we dealt with was great. It started with **** who provided insights which helped evolve our initial ideas into a robust design and plan. **** then stepped in to manage the project very professionally. He kept us informed, made great suggestions, and kept things on track. His attention to detail helped us make the many detailed decisions required and they all worked well. Each of the trades people on our project were also professional and did excellent work as well as being pleasant to work with with a special call-out to *******. Small things, like keeping a clean working space, make a ************* our opinion, you can tell the quality of an organization by how it manages things when something unexpected happens. In our case, permitting got complicated at no fault of Custom Basements and threatened to knock the project off the schedule we had to meet. We worked together and **** somehow juggled and shoehorned things to get the timing back on track.We cannot be more positive about **** and the people she works with.

  From the very start we were quite happy with **** and her team at Customer Basements of NE. **** spent time with us on the phone and in person reviewing every detail and helping select finishes and layout. Very professional, providing us a weekly schedule of the various contractors who would be working on the project. Any changes we decided on, she sent us a detailed budget update. This was important to us as we did have a budget threshold we needed to adhere to.Once the project was underway, our ********* **** and construction manager ****, did an amazing job of taking an old 1920s basement and turning it into modern day. The wall work and ******** came out great. **** made suggestions on the layout so that we could get the largest amount of usable space. We made a huge change to our stairway and removed a doorway leading to the backyard. **** had to re-build the exterior wall. He researched the style of stonework and found something that matched our 1920s exterior.Naturally with all home projects and various contractors doing work (i.e. painters, electricians, etc.) there is an occasional bump in the road. The difference with Custom Basement of NE is they wont finalize until the client is completely satisfied.We look forward to enjoying our bonus space and spacious Laundry/Bathroom for many years to come!

  If you are looking to finish your basement, Id call **** right away, and then hire her. After contacting 3 contractors in the Area, we were getting frustrated by ******************* I called Lisashe came out within 2 days, and had an estimate in my Inbox a few days after that (meanwhile, we were still waiting for estimates from others who had come by weeks earlier!) It didnt hurt that the estimate was the lowest cost and the company had the most experience by far.During the first walk-through, **** made several suggestions about our proposed layout and, of course, it improved the floorplan and we made the changes. Her expertise is readily apparent from design, to permitting, to execution. Shortly after signing the contract, we had our start date and were off & running. Everyone who works for and with **** was extremely professional, and go above & beyond to deliver a quality product. When our notary forgot some information on our paperwork, Lisas team reached out to him and then drove all the way back to our town with the paperwork to get it amended and keep everything moving on schedule. And when we had a few last minute projects to perfect our basement at the end, our project manager **** helped us finish them with no additional charge. Everyone was communicative throughout, and there was never a moment we were frustrated with the process.Within about 7 weeks the entire project was finished, on budget, & we could not be happier with our finished basement. Hiring a contractor thats going to spend weeks in your home and the cost associated is daunting, but if you hire Custom Basements of New England, I assure that youre in good hands.

  Custom Basements of New England was outstanding from start to finish. I got several quotes to finish the basement before **** came out to see our space. There are many things that set Custom Basements apart from the rest;1) The team knows what they are doing. I had a vision of what I wanted to do in the space, and **** took that and made it so much better. She helped me make the big decisions and when she needed to make the little ones, even down to the stair post style or the built in cabinet style, they were exactly what I would have chosen.2) **** and **** always made themselves available to help, both via phone or in person to answer questions or talk through concerns. As someone who is not handy and sometimes has a hard time making decisions, I deeply appreciated this.3) They keep to their timelines. We finished and were able to start moving stuff downstairs prior to the end date deadline.4) Prices were extremely fair and **** always did right by us. She would clearly outline what would be more or less expensive, and constantly worked with us to achieve an outcome that we were happy and comfortable with.I would recommend this company to anyone looking to redo their basement space -- thank you **** and ****!

  Chelmsford Basement Remodel **** and her crew (especially her program manager ****) far exceeded our expectations for our complete basement remodeling project, by way of quality, *********************** From demo, framing, electrical, putting up walls, to cleaning, the team did an outstanding job. **** was open to our needs and brought constructive recommendations to the overall design, which resulted in an amazingly functional and beautiful space for our family. Seamless interactions with town inspectors, being appraised of project costs through requested amendments, as well as regular updates on the stage of the project and completion date, made this extensive project easy for us . The basement is now the favorite space for everyone in the family thanks to **** and her crew. We would highly recommend this team and would use them again in a heartbeat.   The experience of working with Custom Basements of New England was flawless. The quote was honest with no hidden fees or allowances. The quality of the work is truly outstanding. We were really surprised to have no mishaps or hiccups throughout this process. They started sooner than expected and finished sooner also with hardly any disruption to our daily lives. The crafts people were outstanding in their work and as people.The company is always available to answer questions and offer advice. **** had an immediate vision for the basement, so different from how we were engaged with the area.   We had a great experience with **** and the team at Custom Basements of New England. My wife and I get stressed while having any work done around the house. With a project this big, we were really worried that we would be stressed throughout the project, but we weren't at all. Our minds were put at ease when **** showed us the first proposed design, which had a better layout than anything we'd thought of ourselves. And once the work began and we could see the progress being made, we could tell that the quality of the work being done was high and that we had nothing to worry about.We're so happy with the quality of work that they do. We now have a new bathroom with room for our laundry, a media/exercise room with a big finished closet, and a home office that I can work in. It's completely changed how we use our home. We love it!
