      The man who helped us was nice however when I was speaking to the representative, he failed to mention anything about gas. They didn't have options for prepaying for the gas, no sign, current prices (nor did they offer or say anything.) I also read the rental agreement and it mentions NOTHING about gas. Well, they charged me $9.99 a GALLON which resulted in an additional $121 charge. In addition, i now have another additional $200 charge for no reason. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! with a rating of 3.5 at the *** location, they truly deserve to go out of business and really should update their rental agreement.

      Deception, lies, stolen money. I have made reviews in several forums and ACE promised to get in touch with me after I emailed them. they never have. 3 weeks since my rental. Terrible. Worst car company and I'm over 50 - I have used a lot of companies. Took 1 1/2 hour to get the car then it was a smaller size. then they charged me for fuel and the tank was full when returned.

      Literally the worst rental car experience ever. From beginning to end. Just to list a few things:1- Phone number listed on expedia reservation is a non-working number 2-Number that I found after an online search went unanswered for two hours because they "were on lunch"3- Pre-paid gas and they still charged us $156.50 for gas AND i returned with full tank 4 - Had me sign paperwork and said it was everything I had agreed to already. Charged $29/day for liability insurance that I would have never chosen. Was told that I would receive a $250 deposit back but did not. 5-The "Deal" I was booked with on Expedia was for a "managers choice" car but when we arrived, we were told there were no cars in that category.My $326 Expedia reservation turned in to $850 ordeal. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

      I have rented cars from car rental companies over many years, but ACE rental in *******, ***** is the number 1 absolute worse one I have ever rented from. On Sept. 15, 2022 I went to pick up my reserved auto from ACE. First, they had no office at Hobby Airport in *******, ***** as they said they did. They sent a filthy van and driver to pick my wife and I up and drive us fifteen minutes away to their office. The girl at the counter was rude, and in a hurry to get off work. She had assigned up a car which was so dirty and low on gas, we refused that car, and as she was leaving the building, she told the help to get up another car. He drove another car to us which was worse then the first car. Not only was it dirty with dead bugs all over the front of it but it had been in an accident and was not fixed. We had no choice but to except it because the woman that assigned us the car had left. When we got in, it had less then 1/4 th and I will never rent from ACE rental again and I certanily would not recommend them. VERY VERY BAD experience. Don't get hung up on the low price, not so, and it was not worth it.

      Dishonest. I told them not to charge me for insurance because I already had insurance. But I do not rent cars often and they told me it was the "minimum legal for CA". I told them I already had insurance and they charged me anyway. They knew what they were doing. Employee began grabbing at my phone trying to leave himself a positive review on ******* **************** will not return my calls.

      I rented the car at ********* on September 9, 2022. Will never rent from ACE. They charged me for extra insurance, charged me for extra driver which was never disclosed, charged me for gas $9.99/ gal even I prepaid., so many taxes and fees. Never gave any explanation on anything. The car was so dirty.

      I rented a car on July ***** 2022. On the 25th I was involved in an accident where I was not at fault, filed a police report which confirmed I was not at fault and returned the car with all documentation. A few weeks later I received a bill for $2606 stating that I had to pay even though the police report showed I was not at fault. A few days later I received another balance of $*******. When I spoke to Claims representative of ace rental car handling my case, *********************** I asked her why I was responsible for the balance and not the person at fault she stated they only paid out $1372 so you are responsible for the other half and I asked why didnt they pay it? Her response was, they just didnt. She was rude and unprofessional.She provided me with no explanation whatsoever. I ended up calling the adjuster of the 3rd party that was at fault for the accident, they stated the $1372 that was paid for the car covered all damages and that Ace rental car was charging ******* for miscellaneous items therefore they were not willing to pay. After going back and forth with the 3rd party they agreed to pay an additional ****** which brought my balance to 282. They said the remaining balance is for administrative and adjuster fees. Although appreciative of the payout, I do not understand why Im still liable for this amount considering Im not at fault for the accident.

      Tricked me into purchasing their liability insurance (I was in a hurry and had waited 1.5 hours in their never ending line with inefficient clerks) when I already had insurance coverage and refused to give me a refund when I showed proof I had coverage after. The ***************** was so rude and condescending. I talked to the manager ***, who also refused to give a courtesy credit for deceptive practices on their part. First and last time using them. You have my money this time.but lost my future money for a lifetime. Stay away!

      We rented a car in ****** in June. On the way to drop the car off, a rock was thrown onto the windshield and chipped it. We were told that we would be charged (part through our insurance) and that it should be around $400. In the end we were charged around $2000! Including our $500 deductible, our out of pocket charge was almost $900! This includes $120 "loss of use" and $250 "administration fee". This all seems rather excessive and punitive for a chip on the windshield that was not our fault! We will never be renting from ACE again!

      Rented a car at Ace Rent A Car last August *****. I wasnt aware when I booked the car rental about the thousands of bad reviews it has! If I had known, I wouldnt have used this company. It was non refundable. Reading all the bad reviews, I was aware that they like to charge you with car insurance coverage that you dont need so I specifically told the guy at the counter that I have car insurance coverage purchased on Priceline (Allianz), plus my regular car insurance which covers car rentals, plus my credit card. I told him clearly that I dont want to avail with their car insurance coverage and their roadside assistance. The guy at the counter told me to sign my initials and said that this is just to show that you have insurance coverage on the car rental in case of an accident. I assumed that the insurance he was talking about was my own insurance. They charged me $400 for deposit. When I returned the car, they told me I was only getting $300 back and explained that they charged me for the car insurance and road side assistance that a specifically told them I didnt want. When I complained this to the night manager, she said smirkingly, you signed for it. When I got inside my Uber, the first thing that the driver asked me is how was my car rental experience at Ace. He said that he always ask because he knew the answer is always bad based on all his experience with customers that he picks up at Ace. With thousands of bad reviews, a class action lawsuit is inevitable.
