      I rented a car in ******, ** for 5 days, I declined the insurance since I have my own full coverage on my POV. They pressured hard to get me to buy their ins, toll pass and towing, but I declined. Brought the car back took pictures on my phone and headed to the airport. sitting at the airport get the bill and it says the car had damage and they are keeping the $200 deposit. I looked at the pics they sent and the 5 "chips" on the windshield are clearly splatter from from the wet roads. Never, never leave without having them check in the car while you are there. If they don't return my $200 deposit I will go back to ****** and file a small claims case against them. I'm retired now and I got all the time in the world

      Stay away from Ace Car Rental! Hidden fees galore, and not shown until you reach the counter. When searching for a rental car on internet, Ace always pops up as the cheapest rental (like a bait and switch). The car you think you will be renting for Example: $125., probably cost 2 too 3 times that amount. My advice is stay away from ACE and rent from a reputable car rental.

      Swindlers and thieves. Do NOT rent a car from here. I rented a car in ** for three days thru Expedia for $80.30 and it came out to over $328 at the time I dropped the car off. I was apparently signed up for a bunch of extra coverage (initial here, initial there) without the option to decline these 'services' and it cost me over $250 what I signed up for. I was not made aware of what these charges were until I got my receipt at the time of drop-off.

      Terrible . added items that their agent said I didn't need but newbie put in anyway. Gas gauge broken at pickup charged me full tank it was full . agent noted said no problem. Iranian w broken English said don't worry we adjust when I return..630am return ,one return jockey only person there charged 500 when ITIL quote was 170 scam .doubled insurance when asked for basic only billed 2. All a scam called agent said did u read. I said agent couldn't speakenglish her mentor said I didn't need she put in anyway. Many had this file a class action let's roll

After looking further into the charges made to your reservation, you were charged for Collision and Liability coverage as well as a toll pass. In our terms and conditions, it states that customers must have full coverage insurance (Collision AND Liability) to rent our vehicles. They may use their own personal coverage but must provide supporting documents, if not then you are required to purchase it at the front desk.       We drove off the lot in ****** at 11:00 PM and as soon as we hit the freeway the driver side mirror began wobbling as though it was going to fall off. We called as soon as we reached our destination about 20 minutes away and were told to bring it back in the morning. Then we were told we were responsible for the damage because we had declined the insurance. What a terrible way to take care of a customer. Guess I should have taken the car back that same night. Probably wouldnt have mattered. Very disappointed. Will never use them again!!!!!!!

      Warning- DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! They rip you off with their shady practices! I rented a car through *********** and paid $182 which was for the car and taxes and fees. When I arrive to pick up the car I was told I needed p***aid toll fee fees for the time of the rental, which I agreed to do. I told them I did not need insurance as that was covered through my credit card used for the rental. I gave them all my info and they had me sign on the pin pad a couple of times, but just hurried and scanned to the bottom, not allowing me to read anything at all and just telling me it was for the tolls and I was waving insurance. We picked up the car and it smelled BADLY of cigarette smoke, but we didnt want to get in line and wait for a different car so we just dealt with that. After returning the car, I received the bill and charges to my credit card for an additional $218 more than I had already paid. There were random charges for the amount of days I had the car, plus the toll charges of $70 which I had agreed to and additional insurance charges. I contacted ACE to tell them, I wanted to talk to someone about the charges that were done that I had not agreed to. They sent me copies of the rental agreement saying I signed for these things and so I had agreed to them. When I picked up the car, the man helping me did not let me read anything and only told me about the charges I had agreed to. This is a completely unprofessional and shady way of doing business. I shouldve paid attention to other reviews that said similar things. I would not advise renting from this company, it cost me twice as much as It said the car should be and I was charged for originally. Looks like this is a common practice, the customer service *** that responded to my email did not seem concerned at all about the problems with additional charges and just basically told me I was out of luck. I advise you to stay away unless you want to be charged more than double your quoted price

We did apply the insurance your credit card provides but third parties can only offer Collision Coverage. We have emailed you your final invoice that breaks down any charges and you are more than welcome to respond back to Corporate if you have any questions or/and concerns.

      ACE Rent a Car LAX rented me a vehicle with a dead battery. One day into my trip, the car battery died and wouldn't turn back on. Called AAA to jump the car and got a receipt saying the battery is dead and needs to be replaced. At every turn, *** denied responsibility and refused help. Won't ever be renting with any ACE location ever again.
