ZERO stars!!! This company is horrible. I said I didnt want anything extra on my rental and definitely didnt want insurance added as I even said to the agent I have progressive little did I know when I am initialing documents that a waiver means I want insurance??? I clearly already said no I didnt want it. I got the whole total amount and it was 500 something and I said why so much?? I am not getting anything extra on here am I??? She clearly said NO, you have a 250 dollar deposit! So the amount was close to what I thought without me getting a calculator out that I trusted her and completed my credit card transaction!! No a rental that was supposed to be 266 turned out to be 437!!! Unreal!! I think we all need a class action law suit because if this was done to me than it was clearly done to others!!ACE Rent A Car

As discussed with you previously by multiple agents and managers, you signed and accepted the *** at the time of rental. ACE has a 0 tolerance policy regarding our counter agents forcing sales onto customers without their knowledge. In that effort, we have multiple points in the rental process that help protect both the agents and customers when it comes to transparency on their purchases:
1. Signing for the additional purchase individually - This allows handwritten acceptance that you are accepting additional coverage. If you have any issues regarding your purchase, we encourage you to read the screen and/or ask questions to the agent
2. Charging the card - When the amount does not add up to what you expected, you have no obligation to swipe your card and are encouraged to ask questions about your charges
3. Rental documents - During the pick-up and return process you received documents that outlined your charges. Any dispute can be taken care of at the time of receiving these documents.I hope you will allow ACE the opportunity to assist you again in the future.

There is no way you have zero tolerance for this type of behavior for your agents!! 1. They either get commission for it and trick you (because I certainly seen nothing on a screen) or the company itself forces add on demands to the agents so they kinda feel forced to add things when they can to keep the job without being reprimanded!!! I said it before to you and other managers when I disputed my charges that I clearly said I didnt want anything extra and I certainly questioned why the amount was 500 something??? The girl replied that I had a deposit!!!! If she would have replied with you wanted extra insurance that totals 270 dollars than I wouldve known right away lololol but NOOO, she cant get a bonus that way. Good job ???? I would have never thought she added some type of insurance coverage when I said I HAVE FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE!! The guy manager at the ***** airport says he listened to the audio and heard me tell her that I had progressive but I said I wanted basic coverage as well lololol NEVER did I EVER say I wanted something extra!! I said I DO NOT WANT anything extra and she replied again NOO you dont have anything extra!!! Heartless!!! But when this company is a straight up defender of the scam, claiming that I initialed these things!! I was scammed and I know I was!! People please DO NO RENT from ACE!!!!We alll need to find a lawyer for a class action law suit for real!!! These people cant keep getting away with this type of behavior!! If I wanted those extra fees I certainly wouldnt be sitting here trying to make a dispute for something I wanted!!! Listen to the audio at the counter I was at and you can hear the truth!!!!! When we arrived the lady behind the desk seemed annoyed and rushed through the paperwork. The employees expect you to know the ins and outs of the company policies and want you to pay for every add on. I did pay for the pre paid gas tank on the advice of the employee. Returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas and was still charged for the prepaid at the time of check out. Called to ask about the refund and was told no refund and will not do so cause pre paids are prepaid, and to bad. Hostile attitude on the phone and no help they do not value their customers.ACE Rent A Car

Last day of vacation we were getting ready to leave to meet with friends for breakfast before going to airport to return the car. The car wouldn't start. I immediately called ACE at ***** Airport, explained to the man who answered the phone that we couldn't get the car to start - wouldn't do anything. I told him that I have to get to the airport to catch my flight. The guy was very rude told me that I would need to have the vehicle towed at my expense! I told him that it wasn't my fault the car was acting up and I need someone to come get me so we won't miss our flight - breakfast plans were cancelled thanks to this car. He said that ACE doesn't provide tow trucks or transportation to the airport. I was ******. I told my friend what he said and told her I was going to see if I can get this car to start. We went back out it had been about 1/2 hour and tried to start the car. The car did start - it had a bunch of warnings on the dashboard - "Warning" "Not available system malfunction" the battery light came on, skid mark **** was on, 2nd "warning" came on the dashboard "Malfunction" 3rd warning on dashboard "Warning ************************ reduced service now". All the warnings kept flashing on the dashboard. I called ACE back spoke to the same person, told him about the warning on the dashboard. He said that I should drive the car to the airport. I told him I wasn't comfortable driving the car. He then said when I can pay to have it towed but if it was him, he'd drive it back without stopping. I needed to stop to put gas into the car so it was back on a full tank I didn't want to get charged additional fees. I stopped, didn't turn it off, filled it up, took it back to the airport. I had to ride the car on the shoulder because it didnt have power until the speed limit was on 50 then it would kick and drive. It was a very scary ride. They seemed like it wasn't a big deal. Because of this car, I missed breakfast with our friends and nearly missed my flight.ACE Rent A Car

While I do understand the frustrations with the vehicle malfunctioning, looking into your account I do see that you did not purchase the roadside assistance which is why the tox would be at your expense. This company railroads innocent people into purchasing insurance that they do not need or want using underhanded tactics and pushy behavior. The worst car rental experience I have ever had.I was told I had to sign or initial documents by the guy on the iPad. Since you have to wait forever even to rent the car one feels rushed and then these digital papers are shoved down your throat. I paid Priceline $245.92 for a rental plus collision insurance for a standard car with 4 day rental. After all was said and done I got charged an additional $225.91 by Ace Rent A Car at ***. PEC (personal effect coverage I did not want) charged at $19.99 a day and RLW (reimbursement liability waiver I did not want) at $29.99 a day. The consumer goes for the cheap Priceline rental not realizing that they will get reamed by *** later. ********* is culpable for having an arrangement with ***. *** is out to get all the dollars they can with no regard for ethics or morality. All potential customers PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from Ace Rent A Car. In total I paid $471.83 for a 4 day rental in a standard car (Jeep Compass).ACE Rent A Car

Regarding the insurance being added, you do see what you are signing while doing it as well as if proof of personal full coverage is not shown then you do have to purchase the insurance as we require our vehicles to be full covered. If I could give 0 stars I would. I rented a car from ACE in *********** to drive to ******** for my husband's best friend's wedding. I had my 4 and 1 year old as well as my elderly parents. It was advertised that the rental fee would include a free shuttle to ************ from the airport to the rental company. When we arrived, we were told we needed to take a local city bus with 5 pieces of luggage and then we would need to wait for a shuttle bus. Needless to say, that was a nightmare to fight for space with local folks getting on and off the bus. We landed at 7am but didn't arrive to the rental company until 9am which was 30 min. past our scheduled pick up time. My husband needed to arrive at the venue for the wedding rehearsal by 11:30am. Upon arriving, there was a line of over 20 people to check in with 2 working employees! My husband ended up taking a $150 uber ride to ******** so he wouldn't miss the rehearsal. I was on the line for over 45 min and by the time I left the lot, it was 11am. Additionally, as posted by others, they charge you for insurance even when I declined. Please don't be misled by their low prices. You will be paying for the low level of service and their indirect ways to overcharge you! Avoid at all cost!ACE Rent A Car

One star is too many. Rented from Ace at the ******* ** airport thru booking.com. Picked up late at night in dark parking lot. Car had many dents and scratches and seat was ripped which were noted on check out slip. When car was returned, attendant immediately walked to the windshield and circled 2 chips. They are tiny and look like dirt on the windshield. *** attendant then proceeded to accuse me of damaging their vehicle. I did no such thing. Those chips were there when I got the car and the attendant knew it. They are teeny tiny and nowhere in the drivers view. They kept my $200 and now Rockport Auto Claims from ***** wants me to pay $2300 to replace the windshield! Ive found reviews on BBB and other websites where *** has done the same thing to other peoplefrom the ******* location. I played along & requested Rockport to send me the final *************** the windshield had been fixed. They refuse. Big red flag. Instead they send me the estimate to have the car fixed. Thats not what I asked for. There is no way Im gonna pay for something I didnt do. They are scammers trying to get money out of innocent people for existing damage to vehicles that have high mileage (mine had close to 50K miles on the odometer). They have probably made a boatload scamming people and making fraudulent insurance claims. Letters of complaint are being sent to the Attorney Generals of ******* and *****. Negative reviews will be posted in as many places as possible so the word gets out to stay far away from Ace no matter how good the price looks. If it looks too good to be true, it normally is and all the negative reviews about Ace and their dishonest operation prove that. Dont become their next victim!!ACE Rent A Car

Very disappointed with this company. Show up to the rental office in Maui and there is an iPad with a remote clerk to check you in, despite the fact that the place was empty and there were 'in person' staff. It went fairly smoothly until it came down to getting the extra damage/ waiver insurance. I said that I didn't need it as I had double checked to ensure my credit card has the benefit. I initialed something that indicated I wanted this, even though I had verbally said I did not. Much to my surprise I was charged an additional $400 ******** for this. I tried contacting bookking.com, the general ACE contact # and then the ************ I had to make many calls as no one was getting back to me. They said that they needed the ********** office to look at the iPad footage to see what happened. I waited for another week, called back and the ********** manager told that since we had already used the service they couldn't refund me. The point is that I never wanted the service in the first place and stated that to the person on the iPad. No mention was made of how much this service would cost, whereas it was clearly stated what the extra driver would cost. I feel scammed at this point. This was an error that I felt should be taken care of, but taken care of is the exact opposite of how I feel by ***'s customer service department. If proof of personal insurance is not provided to the agent you do have to purchase insurance as we do require our vehicles to be covered in full. 0 stars. We rented a car from them through Hotwire, nowhere on the website did Hotwire mention not being able to go outside the 4 states of **, AZ, UT, and **. We booked the car with the intention of driving our kids to visit our family in ****** as it proved to be cheaper to rent a car and drive instead of buy 5 tickets to fly. We had an awesome trip to ****** in a nice van the swapped us with the car we had booked because it was way too small. So they had us happy at first. The van worked out so well and my kids had plenty of room for the trip the. My husband got a a text saying we were being charged an additional $350.00 for going outside of these 4 states. WAIT WHAT?! ****** called and the man said the *** had already charged his card! He asked why this was and the man said it was in the contract. We checked and yes it was. My husband informed me that he mentioned to the attendant he was going to ****** and they didnt say a thing about it and let him drive off. I was heated. I called, did the wife thing complained. Asked for the *** couldnt talk to anyone til Tuesday apparently. So we get back home from ****** then get a text that we are late bringing it back and getting a late fee. At this point Im beyond done because they still havent followed up with me as promised. We take the car in and they lady checking in the car proceeds to say we made a dent that was in fact there when we got the car. My blood is boiling at this point so a man comes and asks if he can help and I let him know whats going on, he says he investigated the video to see if ****** had in fact said he was going to ****** and that he did not but was reluctant when I asked if I could see the video, he then said he could show ******. So ****** watched and he did indeed tell the man he was going to ******. In the end they honored the original agreement, but the whole situation ruined our vacation.ACE Rent A Car
