I am 80 y/o woman living alone and I have ***** Security system which I am on a contract until 2026. The young man that came to my house saying he could upgrade my security to 5g unsure of what he meant . He said it would improve my service. I was hesitant at first and told him I was not interested. He told me that many of neighbors are doing this. I asked for the names, but didn't recognize any. He had no paper work with him! He also told me that I would be getting an alarm to wear around my neck. I thought this had something to do with my current security system ****** He was a smooth talker and told me another fellow would be coming to upgrade my system. Unfortunately I allowed this to happen. I feel I was taken advantage of and I want to discontinue this service. When I called the company they told me my contract is in affect until 2028. I told them he left me no paper work. They said they would be sending it to me and when it arrived it was two weeks later and I did have to call them a couple of times before they sent it. I would have been able to cancel this if I had received the paper work at the time of acceptance. They give you 3 days to cancel. This has cost me a lot of frustration plus lack of sleep! I am hoping this will help resolve this issue!Review fromStephen D

My contract ended. I'm told my account is closed but SafeHomeSecurity hasn't released my control panel communicator IMEI number so my new monitoring company can set up my account with them.Review fromBernard M.

About 2 years ago we were visited at our residence by a Safe Home representative who told us that Brinks was no longer servicing our area and they were taking over the service area. They told us that they would take care of all the paperwork to cancel Brinks and switch over to Safe Home. I see now that it never happened! I don't check my bank too often and when I did I saw that we've been paying for BOTH security systems at the same time even though they took out the Brinks equipment and replaced it with theirs! I called Brinks to see what they knew and THEY tried to tell me that WE renewed our service contract by phone and still had to pay for the remainder of the contract! I went back and forth with these two companies with NO RESOLVE. We are still paying both of them. When I asked Safe Home how to cancel my service they said to submit a cancellation request and pay the remainder of the 60 months "agreement", not considered a contract, which then was $858.00!! We're 75 & 84 years old and feel that we've been taken advantage of by companies who prey on the elderly, relying on their inability or opportunity to do their research on these people who pressed us to sign THAT DAY. By assuring us that they would take care of the old account, bc they weren't serving our area anymore, we believed them. We have no savings and our SS benefits are minimal so paying off two companies that neither one is providing adequate service is fraud. I've read other complaints and noted more govt agencies etc that I can report them to and will do immediately. If anyone is planning on using a home security service don't ever use either one of these. Don't sign anything on that day, tell them you'll get back to them after you have checked them out with BBB for their ratings. Don't be scammed like we were.Review fromAmit K

******** ** Tech Frankie was rude disrespectful refused to remove and reinstall my service to my new location. Which is the reason he was sent out to my house in the beginning. He argued that he was there to update my service. I had Sold the house and was moving the system to new location. It would have been paid off July 2023 but he refused to move it. It got so bad I called Home office where his supervisor told him to leave yet he continued to disrespect me with movers on premises. They said they’d send someone else out but didn’t even though I called several times requesting a tech. Frankie is the only one in *************** Co. Beware if you’re a woman. He tries to push you around even followed me to my bedroom and when I told him to go to the foyer he told me NO! Luckily I had several movers there who came in to move bedroom furniture. The entire ordeal was unbelievable. He was asked not to come until late afternoon they called me and I said I was not home with the movers and couldn’t meet him when I arrived home he was lying on my porch, homeless looking, I asked him to come back later he refused and after 2 hrs of trying to get him to leave I threatened him with the police. His supervisor told him to leave more than once. He was trying to intimidate me until I finally put him outside. He said I didn’t know his job I was “a woman “ and tried to get back inside and said he’d remove the system and throw it in a box. I am still dealing with this because my home was sold they knew that prior and had 2 weeks notice to remove my system. Now I’m without a system being harassed by the company for payment and calling the manager Jacob ext *** regularly without getting anything but a payment request text. I believe someone should have transferred my system promptly due to the home selling now I cant Get the system out because it’s been so long and I shouldn’t have to pay for something they prevented me from having. I wanted the system transferred & would have paid.Review fromRobin H

They mislead me when I went to insure panel key paid I was just adding insuace in 2-2-22 then in 6 -22 they mislead me to believe I was getting insurance on battery which all should have been insured 3-20-18 I told them to insure they had me sign statement to get insurance over email that was small print hard to read they put me under a new contract in February 22 and June 22 I would never sign to renew a contract twice in a year. They have failed to fix or replace faulty equipment putting me at risk of breaking with no security system working. They was sent a letter telling them I’m canceling my contract certified letter the an email as well I emailed billing and told the effective September 6 -22 they were no longer authorized to bill me through my debit or checking they billed me September 19 after being told no and took money out of my account. They don’t live up to there service or giving credits to account you get billed after you were told it would be credited and no charge . They are misleading people to believe there getting insurance and really signing you up on contract. There recording should have whole conversation that would prove they were doing insurance and really doing a new contract making you believe that. I told them I’m being charge another16 months for equipment that would be paid for in march 20-23 I signed up for a five year contract 3-20-2018 and now have 3 contracts they say I have another 5 years and will pay for same equipment for another 16 month. I will not pay more than double for crappy failing equipment . I’ve had trouble since day one with them they are lying cheaters who abuse contracts on their clients taking advantage of them. I want contract voided due to breach of contract on there end for failure to fix or replace failing equipment.Review fromJudith S.

I totally agree with other reviewers. I had just lost my husband and moved to a new home. A man came to my door saying he had one security unit left and I was the only home in my neighborhood without one and it was in my best interest to have one installed. When I agreed a person came a few days later but could only do a basic installation because some things were on order. I never got the rest of it. After having money taken out of my account for over a year, I tried to cancel. The company name had changed and the person told me I was under contract. My bank investigated and said no such business existed. They even gave me two months of payments back because they said I was scammed. Now this company claims they bought my contract and they want me to pay.Review fromFrances C.

we had a security system prior to this one and it worked well. A rep came to our door around 5 years ago and stated that they had purchased the prior company. Besides the fact that they dont even offer the homeowner an option whether or not they want to continue with the new company. They came to change the security box stating that the new one had satellite capacity and it would still work even without power. A few months ago I finally called to tell them that the system was not working for at least 4 months prior to that. One rep walked me thru it and it was working for two days. I called again and was told that its not working because i no longer had Verizon, I NEVER HAD *********!! I called again to cancel the contract that i was tricked to sign over the phone and the rep quoted me almost 2000.00 !! They continue to take out the money from my bank every month knowing well my situation. How do I get rid of this scamming company???? If anyone knows, please let me know. signed DesperateReview fromColton K

To even give this company 1 star is an insult to stars. Two years ago, we had a salesman from Safe Home Security knock on our door and claim he could save us money on our existing security system. I specifically remember discussing our plan to move in the next couple years with the salesman and the fact that we didn’t want to be under contract for that reason. We wanted to maintain flexibility to cancel at any time because of our uncertain timeline. I was assured MULTIPLE times that would be the case and we’d have that flexibility to cancel on a month to month basis at our discretion. We still said no several times, but he was badgering to the point that we believed him and that’s the only reason we opted to move forward. I called Safe Home on August 22nd to submit our cancellation request for the end of August. Keep in mind I called several times the week before, but could never get anybody to answer after staying on hold for 20-30 minutes each time. To my complete shock, I’m informed that we are no able to cancel and we would owe monthly dues through 2025 if we did. I am absolutely stunned. In hindsight, I am absolutely appalled by the unethical business practices of this company and the manipulation that occurred. Over the past week and a half, I have either emailed or called daily. Could not get a response at all! Finally received a response this morning from Tonia, the manager of Customer Retention. It was a complete joke - the most heartless, least empathetic business email I've ever received. Essentially told me I'm screwed and I owe them $1,000+ to get out of my contract. As if that isn't enough, they will "offer" to move my old system to our new address for a large fee. Keep in mind, this isn't even their equipment! I already had it prior to signing up with them! Utter embarrassment of a company. Stay as far away as you can. I have never felt more scammed in my life. Cannot believe a company with these ethical and moral standards still exists.
